Virgil's POV:

I woke up alone. I let out a sigh and walked out into our kitchen and poured myself some cereal. I walked into the living room and turned on the TV to watch the news. Their reporter was talking about the nearest animal shelter. She said that there are so many animals without a home and that they needed to be adopted. I smiled.

"Patton"

I thought of my animal loving boyfriend. He would've begged me to take him to the shelter to adopt an animal. Maybe that's what I'll do for him.

I stood up and went back over the kitchen to wash my bowl. I quickly went back to my room and got changed so I could look presentable.

I walk outside and close the door behind me. I walk outside of the campus and head down to the animal shelter. We're lucky we both got into a college that allows pets. I glance to the side and see a bakery. In the window there were sweets like cupcakes, muffins, cookies, doughnuts, Danish, sweet rolls, cinnamon rolls and coffee cake. All his favorites so I quickly went in and bought a few sweets.

I went back outside making my way towards the shelter. But as I'm walking I bump into this dude.

"Ahhh fuck" I swore under my breath

"Ouch" The other person mumbles

We stood up picking up our belongings. I looked at him. He was wearing a brown cardigan and a pink tie.

"Hey sorry man." I said

"No no it was my fault I wasn't watching where I was going."

"No dude your cool."

"Alrighty. Say I didn't catch your name?"

"Virgil. You?"

"I'm Emile, Emile Pacni."

"Cool uhh I gotta go see you around Emile."

"Okie Dokie buh-bye now" He giggled and speed walked off

I looked around not realizing that I had been bumped into in front of a flower shop. I walk in thinking that Patton would like some flowers. I walk in and the person working at the counter smiles at me

"Hello welcome to The Gay Garden how may I help you." A worker said to me

I snickered at the name a bit "I need a bouquet for my boyfriend."

"Ah gotcha tell me what's he like?"

"Well he's super sweet, like he's an innocent little bean, he loves animals, and he loves dancing. He's going to college for ballet actually. I love him a lot and right now he's visiting his parents, and I wanna get him something for when he comes back tomorrow. He's a ray of sunshine like he's so happy it's adorable. He's also a very peaceful person. Yeah he gets super excited but he is mostly very peaceful."

"I've got just the right batch of flowers for you. Follow me."

We walked towards a part of the store and there were A LOT of flowers to choose from. The worker grabbed some white daisies, lavender lilacs, red roses, yellow tulips, and blue morning glories.

"There this is the perfect batch for you. White flowers means innocence and purity. Lavender means grace and elegance. Red obviously means romance and love. Yellow means happiness and joy. Finally blue means tranquility and peace."

"Wow that's cool to know. Could you write that on a piece of paper for me?"

"Sure thing it'll be just a moment. Follow me back to the counter please."

We walked back over and the worker got the thing's together and ready. "Here ya go mate."

I gave him the money and he gave me the flowers "Thank you."

"Sure thing enjoy."

I walk out of the shop and head down to the shelter. When I got there it was mostly empty. Someone poked their head around the corner and stared at me. They looked at me for a moment before yelling "MOM! THERE SOMEONE HERE!!!" it startled me and I jumped a bit.

A woman came and scolded the child "Evan! Don't yell you started our poor customer! Now go to the back and play with Jared."

"But mom! Jared called me weird because I like trees! He said that normal kids don't like trees! Jareds mean!"

"Evan I'll deal with him later can you please just try and talk to him?"

"UGh fineee" The kid walked off

She turned to me and said "Sorry about that. What can I do for you?"

"Uh I saw that you guys were um had animal up for adoption."

"Ahh yes would you like to take a look."

"Yeah."

"You can set your things down here." She motioned towards a spot where I put my thing down and I walked with her and saw a bunch of cats and dogs. I saw a puppy staring up at me with big eyes. I giggled a bit.

"Awww looks like muffin likes you. Would you like to see him?"

I smiled "Sure thing"

Muffin immediately jumped out and ran at me. I giggled and picked him up and hung out with him for a bit. After a while I knew that Patton would love this dog. I was able to take him home with me because he was free. Patton's gonna be so happy when he comes home.

Around 9:00 Patton walked through the door.

"Hey Pat." I gave him a kiss on the cheek

He giggled "Hey virgy."

I gave him the flowers I had put in a vase the night before.

"Awww theses are lovely! Thank you!"

"Here have some sweets." I gave him one of the cookies I had picked up from the bakery.

He put the flowers at the table and took a bite of the cupcake. "MMmm this is delicious! Thank you!"

I smiled "That's not all." He gave me a look.

"Muffin! Here boy!" I clapped my hands twice and the puppy came running in

Patton's face lit up and instantly picked up Muffin. He was squealing as his face got licked by the dog. I giggled a bit.

"Virgil is this for me?" He started crying happy tears.

"Of course!" I gave him a hug and he set down the dog.

"You're the best! I love you! I love you! Iloveyou!!!"

"I love you too!!" We kissed and spent the rest of the day together.
