Roman worked in a cafe, yes, the type of stereotypical cafe you see the hipsters go into on their day offs. It was always busy, and he definitely hated the job. No, not just hated, despised it.
The customers were always rude, it was always packed, and people always told him he had a bad attitude. Him? A bad attitude?
Honestly, maybe.
As he was working a shift late one afternoon, he noticed someone walk inside. He was wearing all black clothing, and he had huge dark bags under his eyes. Despite this, he couldn't help but to notice how cute he was.
He went up to the counter, smiling at Roman shyly causing him to blush, "Can I get a small black coffee, please?"
Roman frowned, it was odd that someone ordered a plain black coffee. "Are you sure? No creme? Anything?"
The boy nodded, "I'm sure."
The barista shook uo his head up and down back at him, "You got it."
As he turned to make the coffee, he wondered why anyone would really buy this thing at an over priced coffee shop for 5 dollars when they could make it at home for practically nothing. It was kind of...useless.
He finished making the so called 'coffee' pretty quickly, turning to the counter once again, handing him his drink, and getting his money in return.
The emo dressed boy sat at the counter, looking at his drink like he was afraid of it, Roman paid close attention. Was he going to drink it or look at it all night?
He looked like he had finally built up the courage to open the flap and take a sip, and when he did, Roman fought the urge to laugh.
The darkly dressed man made the weirdest faces when taking the sip, scrunching up his nose. It was like he had never had a black coffee.
Roman decided to deck out from behind the counter, going to confront him.
He tapped the boy's shoulder, causing him to turn. Roman spoke, "Have you...ever had a black coffee?"
The other blushed in response, shaking his head to show that he hadn't.
Roman laughed and sat next to him, "What are you trying to do? Look more adult?"
"Hey! I most definitely am not!" He replied, anger clearly on his face.
Roman gave him a look, almost implying that he was lying.
"Okay, yeah. I'm might be trying to uh, look a bit more serious."
Roman laughed, he knew it. "My name's Roman, by the way."
The darkly dressed boy smiled, "Virgil."
