Patton rubbed his eyes for the tenth time in the last 5 minutes, his eyes slowly turning red. Bags clung to the bottom of his eyes like bats, his glasses not providing much coverage. His cheeks were dry with what seemed like tears had been there the night before. His hair was messy, he had tried to fix it but managed to make it look even worse. His clothing was wrinkled and he just wasn't in a very Patton mood today. Or this whole week.
In the past few days, he made himself seem happy and joyful. But today he just gave up, he didn't want to try anymore. Well not try right now. He slowly made his way to the kitchen, grabbing the coffee pot and pouring the beverage into his mug. He brought the cup to his lips, tipping the container up till the liquid ran into his mouth and down his throat. The warmth probably wasn't the best to mix with his dry throat, but it was something. The heat made him feel good, but the hot coffee burnt his tongue. At least he could still feel.
"Patton?" Logan stepped into the kitchen, glancing at the older side who of course was not looking his best. Logan had noticed Patton's off-ness but did not want to be apart of the whole comforting phase. Too icky and feelsy but turns out Virgil and Roman haven't done anything of it.
"Oh, good morning Logan!" Patton raised his head, plastering a fake smile on his face along with a fake tone of excitement. His eyes conveyed a totally different tone though, they were tired.
"Patton, are you feeling alright?" Logan stepped forward and leaned down onto the counter, so he could make eye contact with the other side.
"I feel terrific Logan, thanks for asking! How are you feeling? Its bean a beautiful morning so far" Patton forced a small chuckle, trying to lift the mood. If he could.
"Are you sure, Patton? Your looks seem to clash with your tone of voice," Logan lifted one of his hands to Patton's cheek, getting a good look at his eyes, "And your eyes aren't looking so great either. Tell me, are you getting enough sleep?"
"Well of course I am Logan! Eight hours a day!" Patton's cheeks turned a light red from the sudden contact.
"Does not seem like it, Morality. You have been acting strange this whole week and I believe it has to do with how you are feeling"
"How I'm feeling? I'm feeling great, Logan! I've already said so, why would I lie?"
"Possibly to ensure none of us figure out the true feelings you are hiding in that head of yours. I understand I am not the best source of comfort, but Patton I can sense your unease. You have not been yourself and I guess I am worried." Logan straightened himself up and walked around the counter, sitting next to Patton. He placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, giving him a small smile.
"Logan, I don't know what you're going on about-"
"Patton I know you have not been happy this whole week and I intend to change that. Even if I do come off as emotionless, I do still care about you. Though I do not understand your emotions I know enough to realize you need comfort. So I shall provide that. If you need it, of course." Patton gave Logan a real smile, then proceeded to pull him into a hug.
Logan's body stiffened before relaxing into the hug and wrapping his arms around the other. Patton let out a deep sigh, sinking into Logan. He felt tears well at the corner of his eyes, enjoying the physical contact.
"As to help you, shall we go to the common room and watch some Disney movies?" Logan offered. Patton nodded before they both pulled away from the hug.
Logan smiled at Patton, who returned it. Feeling the gesture warm his heart ever so slightly. This feeling was new and sweet. And oh what a ride it will be.
