Roman x Virgil ~ Helpless

A/N: no one is reading yet, but I'm having fun writing! Woot!

I take requests!

Also, these are pretty Virgil centric, I have just realized.

..........

Why did his face make him smile.

Why did his hardened gaze make him turn to mush?

Why was it that every time they touched, he'd get this feeling.

Why?

Why!?

Why???

Virgil groaned into a pillow, helpless to his intruding thoughts.

He wanted to curl up and die, and not tell Roman or anyone his feelings.

If made him almost wish to be hated again, so these dreaded emotions didn't nag him and egg him on.

Virgil was snapped out of his thoughts with a calculated knock to his door.

Logan.

Maybe Logan could help.

"Come in," Virgil said, rolling onto his back. Logan curiously opened the door, his eyes catching Virgil laying on the bed and waking in.

"You Alright?"

"Barely. What's up?" Virgil sat up.

Logan offered a smile, "honestly, just came to check on you. Seemed off these past few days."

"Yeah," Virgil sighed, "I guess I have been."

"How so?"

"I have a massive crush on Roman and I don't want to."

Logan raised a brow, "Roman? You deserve better."

Virgil laughed, "thanks, but there's something about him, you know?"

"Well, I guess I'm in a similar boat."

"Patton?"

"Patton."

The two laughed a bit. Logan and Virgil were close, they confided in each other a lot, like brothers. It just, happened naturally to them. They played chess, watched crime shows, and talked about nonsense.

Logan also was the one to really reach out to Virgil, help him when he was shaking, screaming, crying.

Virgil trusted Logan.

Logan trusted Virgil.

"So, why do you even like about Roman?"

Virgil shrugged, "he's... he tried so hard. He wants Thomas happy, to a point where he sometimes hurts himself, sacrifices himself to let Thomas thrive. He doesn't like a lot of what we like, but he keeps trying. Yes, he's infuriating, but, it's good?"

"You're hopelessly in love."

"I know. It's just, I want to punch him as well and kiss him, and it's making me feel helpless. I want the feeling to go away, but I'm definitely not Roman's type. He's into princes and princesses and I'm far from either."

Logan snorted, "You seem pretty Princey to me."

"How?"

"Despite how much you appear the idea, you love singing, and animals are surprisingly fond of you."

"That does not make me a prince."

"Alright, Alright."

Virgil sighed, getting up, "promise not to tell Patton or Roman about this?"

"Well," neither noticed the scene change, "you're secrets are always safe with me."

"Thank you Android."

"A pleasure hot topic."

"SteAliNG mY PuNchLiNEs!" The two jumped, seeing they were in their spots in the living room.

Logan rolled his eyes and gave a knowing look in Virgil's direction.

"Oh shut it pocket Protecter."

"You admit to it though."

Thomas glanced between Logan and Virgil, a friendly fire in their eyes. Then his mind drifted to why Logan had said. "What's this about a secret?"

"Right, you got me worried kiddos." Patton hummed.

Virgil shot Logan a knowing look.

"Bad taste, I know. Same for you."

Virgil rolled his eyes, and Patton and Roman seemed more confused.

"Thomas, the secret isn't something to worry about. It's not really much of a secret since he's very obvious about it."

"Logan, you're the worst friend sometimes."

Logan snorted, "Same to you doom and gloom."

Both snorted and smiled before turning their attention to Thomas.

Thomas seemed to figure out the secret and it didn't take long for the problem to be solved.

When thing returned to normal, Logan and Virgil drank coffee together in the kitchen, Sure that the other two sides were in their room.

"I'm just saying, if you and Patton ever become a thing, I'm not calling you dad. Probably mom as a joke, but ugh."

"Sometimes I forget you have a father/son relationship with Patton. So is this the equivalent of having to ask the son permission to ask out the father?"

"Go for it. I'm sure he's head over heels for you."

Logan smiled at Virgil, "you think I should? I'm not good with emotions."

"Neither of us are, hence the reason we stupidly go to each other for advice."

"True," Logan said, nodding in agreement, "you ever think you'll work up to courage to ask out Roman?"

"He's a bit too far out of reach. I'm just... I'm not good enough."

Logan frowned and set down his coffee, taking Virgil's, and setting it down as well. He grabbed Virgil's shoulders, and looked him in the eye, "you are worth everything. Don't put yourself down like that! Roman would be lucky to have you. In the wise words of Patton-"

"Wise?"

"In the words of Patton, if you Lee talking bad about yourself, I will physically fight you."

Virgil smiled, then hugged Logan. Virgil and Logan both were... touchy about hugs, but in times like this, they didn't really mind the contact. "Thank you."

"You keep relying on me like this and I'm going to start calling you son."

"Don't make me gag." Virgil pulled away, looking jokingly disgusted.

Logan just shrugged, "can't help that you are treating me slightly like a father figure."

"I wish I could disagree. I'm heading upstairs." Virgil downed the rest of his coffee in one giant gulp and put the cup in the sink before making his way to the stairs, passing Patton who was heading downstairs. Patton seemed to be on a mission and Virgil simply smiled as he managed to make it to his room.

A safe space.

Thanks to Logan, he no longer felt helpless involving his feelings with Roman.

He was still anxious about them, how they swirled in his head like a destructive force, but, it was much better. Everything was much better.

His brain was peacefully numb, and he laid on his bed, looking up to the ceiling.

Didn't take long before he heard a few soft, uneven taps on his door.

Roman.

"C-come in!" Virgil said, sitting up, silently swearing to himself with how his voice sounded.

The door opened, and Roman walked in, holding something, a small card.

"What brings you here Roman."

"I've been meaning to give you something for awhile." Roman places the card in Virgil's hand, and Virgil wearily glanced at Roman, them at the card.

I asked my magic mirror who the fairest of them all was, and when it showed me its picture-

Virgil flipped the card open,

It was you. The most beautiful prince of all.

Virgil's lips rugged at a smile, his thumb running over the writing over and over and over again.

"Thank you."

"I've been trying to work up the courage to give it to you, because I'm all honesty, I had misjudged your relationship with Logan and assumed you two were a thing."

Virgil seemed to realize that Roman must've overheard part of his convo with Logan, "Logan and I are friends, nothing more."

"I realize that now, but-"

"I like you too Princey, would you go out with me?"

Roman's face seemed shocked, pink subtlety staining his cheeks, "beat me to the punch."

"I've been feeling helpless about my feelings for you for awhile and, I don't want to be. I want to be sure. And I am. I love you."

Roman smiled, "I love you too."

They smiled at each other and Roman walked over, sitting next to Virgil, who leaned into Roman, resting his head on his shoulder.

"I-"

"How much did you overhear?"

Roman quirked a brow, but shrugged, "up to when Logan quoted Patton. Patton overheard too."

"I assumed."

"You and Logan are pretty close. Stole all me one liners."

"Oh, that's an inside joke between us. We save all the names you and Patton call us and jokingly use them."

"Really?"

Virgil nodded, "really. We just found it entertaining."

"Interesting. Want to grab some popcorn and watch a movie?"

"Let me guess, Disney?"

"Lion king?"

"Cause there's always a good time to-"

"Dress I'm drag and DO THE HULA!"

They laughed and got up, hands slipping to hold each other. Then opened Virgil's door and were met with a site. They remained quiet as it seemed Patton and Logan were in a heated make out session, slowly walking to Patton's room.

Somehow Logan got the door open. They got in and the door slammed behind them.

"Wow."

"They work fast," Roman whistled.

Virgil nodded in agreement, "let's grab our popcorn."

"Let's."

..............

A/N: Logan and Virgil would be best friends if they got to know each other a tad bit more. Fight me on this!
