Logan x Patton ~ Long Enough
A/N: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Have a picture I drew of Patton.
..........
Logan found himself increasingly annoyed with these feelings that were attacking him.
His stomach curled and twisted and his heart kept skipping beats, racing without any physical activity to provoke such a thing. His palms would get clammy and he'd feel increasingly flustered.
Was he dying? No, no. He could die as long as Thomas needed him.
Then what was happening to him?
Why did it all revolve around Patton? The annoying dad?
Not wanting to hear crap from Roman, and wanting realistic things, Logan went to Virgil's room, knowing the anxious trait was also logical when he wasn't stressing.
He heard Virgil humming to himself through the door, so he knew he'd have to knock a bit louder. He knocked three times, heavily, hearing Virgil jolt into something, as a loud bang could be heard.
Logan was relieved when Virgil had opened the door. The trait look startled, probably expecting one of the other two.
"Hey Logan?"
"Can I have your advice?"
More shock, "my advice. Sure the other two couldn't suffice?"
"Well, the problem itself that I'm having involves one of the other traits and Roman is a headache to deal with. The only other logic in this mind space is you."
"I'm flattered." Virgil invited Logan inside and Logan accepted, sitting on the edge of Virgil's bed.
"So..."
"Something up with Patton?"
Logan nodded, "it's strange, I find myself unable to explain what has been occurring recently."
"Okay...?"
"When I find myself around Patton, my stomach churns which is unpleasant, and my palms start to secrete sweat. My heart skips beats and seems to increase without my breaking a sweat. All around Patton. Neither you, nor Roman provoke the same type of reaction."
"Oh boy."
"You know that cause?"
Virgil sighs, sitting on the bed next to Logan, pulling his legs to his chest, "You like Patton."
"Of course I like Patton," Logan said as a matter of fact, "he's an interesting character and f-"
"In a romantic way Logan. You like him in a romantic way."
"I... I..."
"You have a crush."
"That simply can't be. I'm not one fo-"
"Alright motherboard, you aren't a robot. You're simply a facet of Thomas' logical side, but all of us feel more than just our core values. Patton and Roman can get sad, angry, but they can be logical, at times. Even if that isn't their role. It's okay to feel something."
Logan's brows furrowed together, "we all have the s-"
"Tomato, tomato, it doesn't matter. Since we all look alike, you're attracted to who he is and not his looks."
"You mean tomato, Solanum lycopersicum."
"For the love of- shut up."
"Just staring the scientific na-"
"I know. Look Logan, go and tell Patton how you feel."
Logan fidgeted, the movement barely registering to Virgil, but he noticed. "What if.... what if I'm rejected? It could throw the-"
"I'm Anxiety. Your Logic. Calm down."
"Ah, you're right. I should try to think about this logically."
"Or, forget your logic for once and take a chance. Even I do that sometimes."
"Like wh- I apologize for how rude that sounded."
Virgil snickered, "I know you mean no harm. Besides, you help me the most with my anxiety attacks, you all do, so I've been getting better."
"That's good."
"And back to the when do i take risks. Well, I'm dating Roman, aren't I? And were the biggest contrast out there."
"Truly. I still don't get what you see in him."
"I wonder that too. And it does go back to the whole, same face thing. I see Patton like a dad and you like a kind older brother. Roman is someone I get flustered around. We're not the same person. Okay, we technically a-"
"I get it," Logan sighed softly, "thank you Virgil."
"I'm glad i could help." Then a silence, "you planning on telling him?"
"I- I don't know. Patton is..."
"Adorable, we know."
Logan smiled at the comment, "I'm just afraid he'll reject me and I'll ruin what all of us have and ruin Thomas with it."
"You're sounding a lot like me. It's okay to be scared, but this is Patton we're talking about. The same Patton who called you his hero. The same Patton who is proud of you the most. Patton, who feels hurt when you hurt him, more hurt than if any of us hurt him."
Logan took all that in, pink pinching his cheeks, "thank you Virgil."
"Anything for a friend."
Logan got up and Virgil waved him off, as Logan headed downstairs for a coffee, to think of the right way to tell Patton.
The right way to tell the adorable heart of the group that he loved him.
He had a bit of a short circuit since he almost immediately reman into Patton, the two colliding on the top of the stairs, and Logan, realizing falling his direction would cause less damage to them both, wrapped an arm around Patton and let them crash to the ground.
Patton recovered first, pushing himself up a bit, hovering over Logan, who still had an arm around him. "Nice save there Logan. Could've been quite a pickle!" Patton exclaimed happily.
"Just calculated which path would lead to the least injuries."
"Well," Patton said, smiling, "thank you."
"It's no problem Patton."
Patton smiled cheerily and leaning into Logan, pressing a kiss on his cheek, "definitely my hero!" He got off of Logan and happily skipped his way back to his room, leaving Logan laying on the ground, his face a pink mess.
In that moment, hearing the commotion, Virgil peaked his head out, "in... Logan, you okay?"
"My calculations didn't prepare me for this!"
"Right. Good luck!" Virgil said, going back into his room. Logan laid there for another minute, trying to calm down, then got up, heading down stairs and making himself some coffee.
He had his work cut out for him.
On the other hand, Patton had made his way to Virgil as well.
"What is it now-" Virgil blinked and wordlessly let Patton in.
"Thanks kiddo. Needed some advice."
"Both you and Logan have the worst taste in where you get your advice."
Patton perked up at Logan's name, "Logan asked for advice?"
"Yes. I'm guess you're here for roughly the same reason he was."
"Wait, does Logan like me back!?!?"
"Why don't you go find out for yourself? He probably got some coffee."
Patton nodded and jumped up, leaving Virgil's room.
"And I'm the overly complex trait." Virgil looked towards his door, and a smile slipped to his lips.
Logan was finishing up his coffee when Patton managed to...
Fall down the stairs.
Welp.
Logan turned to the noise, startled, seeing Patton lying face first on the ground, groaning, "Patton!" He rushed over and helped Patton up, seeing he had a bloody nose. Logan rushed Patton to the couch and grabbed some tissues, pinching the bridge of Patton's nose with one and tilting his head down. "Why were you running... you could've gotten seriously injured."
"I was coming to see you!" Patton attempted to exclaim, the noise sounding weird because of his pinched nose.
"Calm down for right now, okay?" Patton made a small nod before sitting still, allowing Logan to continue pinching his nose. Logan was so close, Patton could smell Logan's body wash, even through his pinched nose. It was nice and warm and...
His heart was overflowing with love for Logan.
"That should be good enough." Logan stopped pinching Patton's nose, and sure enough, he stopped the bleeding. He threw away the tissue in his hand and went back to Patton. "I'm going to check to make sure you don't have any other injuries. Tell me if anywhere I touch hurts."
Patton nodded as Logan carefully felt Patton's arms, checking for scrapes or bruises, seeing none on either arm and Patton not feeling any pain in any of Logan's touches. Logan gently moved to Patton's legs, knowing most of his impact had to have been there. Still, Patton didn't feel any pain. Logan moved to Patton's chest and back and still, no pain.
"Looks like it was only the bloody nose, that's good." He let out a sigh of relief, and Patton looked at Logan. Logan looked at Patton, their eyes meeting. Both of their eyes were a honey brown, but because of their perceptions of themselves and Thomas's perception of them, Patton's eyes seemed to be tinted a reddish pink, while Logan's were tinted a very bluish green, like computer programming.
They stared, then Logan, in a bust of emotion- "Patton, I like you, I'm a romantic sense."
"Logan-" Patton's face went red, every inch was red, fluffy and adorable, "I like you too."
"Really?"
"Yes really! You're my hero, I thought I told you that enough." Logan's face felt hot, and he decided to be bold, leaning in, his eyes closing, capturing Patton's lips with his own.
They were soft, warm, and tasted a bit like cherry pie.
Patton wrapped his arms around Logan, pulling his closer, even if only a little bit, kissing the logical trait back.
To Patton, Logan's lips were soft as well, cold, and tasted like coffee and mint. A surprisingly delightful taste.
Patton was the first to pull away, even more red, looking lovingly at Logan, a kind smile on his face. Logan was smiling too, both of them so close to each other, and it was just so right.
"My Hero," Patton whispered softly, the two kissing again.
Virgil looked up from his phone at dinner, seeing everyone was minding their own business.
"Lo, dad, how did thing go?"
Roman looked at his boyfriend curiously, then turned his head towards Logan and Patton, who had an ever so faint blush on their face.
"Thanks for the advice." They said together.
"No problem. Still no idea why you didn't go to Roman for romance."
"Wait... why am I missing?"
Logan and Patton held up their intertwined hands, and Roman's eyes went wide.
"You just got together? I had already assumed you two were?!?"
"Well, they are now."
