Chap 9: bring you back

Jungkook couldn't sleep, his gaze kept wondering to the empty bed beside him. He couldn't stop thinking about him, wondering if he was okay? Were they feeding him? He's never been put into isolation, he only knew few who've been sent there and one of them being Simon Namjoon's roommate. When he came out he was different, convinced what he was was wrong, being gay isn't natural.

Jungkook had this lingering fear that's how Jimin will be when he's out. This shell of a person who no longer has a voice other than the one he's been given by this place. It was struggle to sleep, he barely got a good hour before his mind woke him up with gnawing thought about Jimin.

When sunlight came, pouring into his room he was still wide awake. He blinks, rubbing his eyes while he drifted to the side to where the empty bed laid. He sighs softly, reluctantly getting up out of his warm bed. It was seven o'clock on the dot, at seven fifteen one of the workers would be at his door knocking to ensure he was awake and coming down for breakfast.

He stretched his limbs, scratching the back of his neck while he got up. He lazily makes his way into the bathroom, groaning at his appearance. His eyes bloodshot, dark bags under his tired eyes. He quickly washed his face, splattering it with cold water to try wake him up. A rough brush of his hair, short cleaning of his teeth he's dressed and ready by the time he gets the knowing knock on his door.

"You awake Jungkook, breakfast in fifteen." The door opens, Jin pops his head through.

"Yes." He kept it short and brief, still mad at him for punishing Jimin for just speaking the truth.

Jin smiles like he always does, shutting the door again as he knew he wouldn't get any more out of him. He could tell he was still mad, though it was his job to rehabilitate these kids, show them the right path.

Jungkook huffs as he puts on his jumper, glancing one last time to Jimin's empty bed. It had only been two days but he already missed him. He slams the his door shut when he leaves, not caring if he annoyed his neighbours. He slumps down the hallway, hands stuffed into his pockets. He never realised how glum everything was, the walls pale and drab. The pictures hug up haunting and vivid.

He guessed he was always distracted or Jimin had helped him not notice. He made himself a promise that when he had breakfast he'd go find Jimin no matter what. He couldn't stand another night alone in this place, the quiet was killing him. Growing up in an orphanage there was noise twenty four seven, never a silent moment. He didn't know how much he hated the quiet until he got here. It left him with his own thoughts as comfort and needless to say they weren't always good ones.

He needed people around him to distract him from his dark mind. His childhood wasn't bad but nor was it good. It was simply hard and being sent here for liking the same sex didn't make things easier. Least Jimin was making it bearable, making him laugh, smile like he's never done before. And he wanted to keep it that way, have Jimin back by his side.

Jimin held his knees, glaring at the door in pure hatred. He'd never been claustrophobic but he might be now, he hates this tiny room. The walls were suffocating, he felt like they were closing in. He couldn't sleep last night, his recurring dream from that night kept rolling around. Images of Kai above him, panting, breathless while he pressed his heavy body onto him lingered. The haunting sounds of his hips snapping into him, the feeling of him roughly touching him ached his insides.

He hated himself for letting it happen, hated his sister for dating someone so disgusting. He was angry with her, he didn't know why when it wasn't her fault but he still harped this anger for her. And it revolted him especially after what happened, he hated his sister and that was the last thing he felt before she died. The guilt still ate at him, he started blaming himself more than anything. Thinking if he had just kept his mouth shut, stopped being a tease or leading him on none of it would've happened. His sister would never have gone looking for them, stumbling across Kai on top of him, naked with Jimin under him crying.

The hurt in her eyes was real, she might've been drunk but she knew what was happening. She screamed at Kai, yelling at him, crying while Kai just sat there. He didn't even move when she walked out, tears staining her cheeks while she ran down the stairs still wobbly and drunk.

Jimin replays that moment over and over in his mind, wishing if he'd only gone after her. Chased her down those steps, stopped her getting in that car but he didn't, he just laid there on the bed feeling sorry for himself, disgusted at what he did even if he didn't have a choice in the matter.

His sister killed herself that night, though it may not have been intensional but she died that night. Her car was found in a ditch on its back with the front bumper caved in. She had slammed into a tree, the forcing tumbling her car down the hill. The paramedics said she died almost instantly, her head slammed against the wheel and glass window. The airbags didn't deploy, apparently it can happen.

After that everything changed, rumours spread that Jimin was the reason she did it. She found him sleeping with her boyfriend and she ran out. Though in some respects that was true it wasn't the whole truth, they missed out the part where it wasn't consensual. Kai forced himself on him yet he was the bad guy, he was the one that fucked Kai and broke his sisters heart. His father began despising him, especially when he discovered the truth. Found out he was gay and had been sleeping around, he didn't take it well.

The sound of the door opening breaks him from his daze, his eyes flicker up to see Jin standing there with a sickening smile.

"How are you today Jimin? You ready to join the rest of us?" His voice was gentle, kind yet Jimin knew it wasn't.

Jimin wanted desperately to bark back, give a sly remark though he stopped himself, knowing it would only get him more time in this hell hole. So he bites his tongue, shallowing his pride he nods his head.

"Yes. Yes I have." Jimin tries giving a convincing smile.

Jin looks at him for a moment, his smile widening as he believes him.

"Great, I'm very happy to see that Jimin. I hope we can move forward and you will let us help you." Jin sounded so sincere, but Jimin wasn't buying.

"Me too, does that mean I can go now?" Jimin's eyes were pleading, Jin brings his hand out.

"It does Jimin." Jimin flickers to his hand, not sure he trusted him enough to take it.

Jimin reluctantly takes the hand offered, being helped off the floor. Jin gently rubs his back, pulling him out the room.

"You're just in time for breakfast, I'll take you to the cafeteria." Jin guides him through the hall, Jimin stayed quiet, still lost in his head.

Jin pushes the cafeteria doors open, it was crowded inside. All the boys itching for the food before they started their day.

"I'll see you later okay?" Jin pats his shoulder before leaving.

Jimin stood there, silent not feeling his usual confident, snarky self. He felt like an empty shell, his mind a haze.

"Jimin? Oh my god Jimin." He's suddenly engulfed into a bone crushing hug, the familiar sweet smell of Jungkook's fruity hair smoothers his senses.

"I was so worried, are you okay? God I really missed you." Jungkook delicately touches his cheeks, thumb rubbing his skin.

Jimin stares at him, his eyes shrouded with what Jungkook didn't know but he didn't like the look. It sent shivers down him, Jimin didn't appear to be the same boy he saw just days ago.

"I'm fine-let's eat I'm starving." Jimin brushes him off, walking to where the food has been laid out.

Jungkook watches him for a moment before quickly following suit. He'd find out what happened and he'd bring back the Jimin he fell for.
