54.

Sitting quietly on the bed, Preeta played with drape of her saree in thought. From last two days, she had been feeling so left out.

Her mother-in-law was busy in preparing for the gifts for the upcoming wedding while her father-in-law kept himself busy to look over his company's progress. She had noticed how he had balanced his official and personal life so perfectly. When his employees needed him, he was already there for help, for the work but since, Karan had taken all the responsibilities, her father-in-law spend leisure time at home too.

She couldn't even expect a smile from Kritika now. She had gotten upset for god knows why. Preeta was ready to do anything to maintain her bonding with the girl but she was afraid if a little approach would worsen it.

Moreover, Karan too hadn't given her much attention these days. She knew that he was still not happy how she had hid things from him. But she had promised in her heart that she wouldn't do it again.

It had been more than three months since her wedding and she had gotten the true image of Karan in her mind. She now understood that he wasn't a bad person, that he was when they weren't married. It was his love that made him did all of that.

It was wrong, all wrong, extremely wrong. But at least, he had admitted his mistakes on time and had made her comfortable with him. His family loved her, he loved her and Preeta had never imagined her future better than this.

Slowly by each passing day, she couldn't ignore the feelings that were growing in her heart for her husband. He was caring, he was loving. What could she ask more from him! She had realised it the day when he had been upset with her for being late for those clients meeting.

She couldn't see the disappointment in his eyes. She couldn't let down the man who loved her so much. Why all of a sudden, she had started caring for what he thought of her? Three years ago, she hated him to the core.

He was the same man who had beaten her best friend like a beast. He had slapped her father, kidnapped her, threatened her.

But now, she couldn't deny how he has miraculously changed. He had took care of her father's health, he had married her, loved her.

The most brain-twisting thing was that he hadn't claimed her body.

Frequent teases, naughty comments were his normal behavior. From past months, she had grown up to love the moments when they would make out till they couldn't breathe. She couldn't deny that she loved all of it.

His closeness, his touch, his breaths on her neck, his hands on her waist- she liked it all. He was handsome, tall and muscular. The way he smirked at her, the way he would flaunt his bare body to seduce her naughtily, the way he would get possessive of her. She loved it all.

She could now admit it in her heart that she was insanely attracted to her husband. She felt great that he was hers and he had his eyes only for her. His attention made her feel loved and special.

His mere ignorance had now started bugging her and from past two days, she had been frustrated. Moreover, now what he just did.

He didn't even ask her if she wanted to go. Didn't he want her to enjoy the function? She never liked how he would disappoint her mother-in-law. Moreover, it would have been a bit distracting from all the tensions, she had received these days. Didn't Karan care about this a bit? She shook her head in thought.

Suddenly, she heard her name being called loudly. She immediately got up and walked out to see that her mother-in-law and Kritika had returned. She looked at the watch and noticed it was half past seven. Her eyebrows raised and she laughed at her mother-in-law's excited eyes. These women loved shopping so much.

She slowly stepped down the stairs and reached them on the sofas. Her mother-in-law tiredly took a seat and Kritika too sat quietly.

"Preeta, you don't know how I enjoyed today. They had a great collection this season. Take a look at the sarees." As told, she got up and slowly checked the shopping bags and one by one observed the sarees.

Her eyes brightened at the beautiful colours and she smiled at her mother-in-law. "They are beautiful." She exclaimed while looking more at other ones. There were total eight in number and every single was gorgeous than other.

She caught a dark-green coloured saree. "Are you wearing it at the reception?" She giggled.

Rakhi Luthra laughed. "Yes. I love this colour. Your dad loves it on me." Preeta chuckled and picked out the three lehengas from another bag. She noticed the off shoulder blouses, a cream-coloured gown and cool jeweleries. She immediately looked at Kritika.

"Okay. So, these are very gorgeous. I can guess, Kritika had chosen it herself." She spoke nervously and waited for the response. But the girl only shrugged and looked back at her phone.

Karan's mother not noticing the exchange at all, nodded. "Madam wants to flaunt the most skin she could. Thanks to her brother's refusal for this function, otherwise who would have dared to wear those low necklines and backless gowns."

Preeta smiled when she noticed Kritika's eye roll at her aunt's words but still smiled briefly. Suddenly, their eyes met and Preeta gave her a longing look.

For a second, she saw regret in Kritika's eyes but then, she broke the contact by looking away sadly.

"Bye, mom. Take care." Karan muttered naughtily while giving a protective hug to his mother.

"I will. But will you take care of my Preeta?"

Karan's eyes immediately shifted on Preeta who was quietly standing there. He smiled softly at the plan that was revolving in his mind. Looking back at his mother, he smirked.

"I will take care of my Preeta."

He saw the light blush on her cheeks and sighed in relief. His father was putting the luggage at the back of the car with the help of Mohan while Kritika had already said her byes to both of then formally and had sat inside the car.

His mother laughed at his words and slightly turned to Preeta. She smiled while cupping her cheek. "... and you, take care of my home when I am away. This son of mine cares for nothing except for his deals and his clients. But you, invite your friends or something..." Preeta chuckled and nodded while observing Karan who was giving her a challenging look.

The lady further spoke,"I have bought a gift for you. Its on my bed." She whispered while Preeta shook her head.

"There was no need for that, mom..."

But Karan's mother waved it off by saying,"Oh please. You are going to love it." She caught Preeta's hand and leaned closer to whisper in her ear.

"He's going to love it too. Just remember one thing, make it hard for him."

Preeta's breath hitched and she moved back to see the woman giving her a knowing smile. She didn't know what the lady actually meant but could understand that it definitely meant to not be so easy for karan.

She shyly nodded and finally stepped back. Her in-laws finally settled and finally the car drove out of the Luthras residency. She had waved until the car was out of sight and gates were finally closed.

There was no denying that she too wanted to go to the wedding. Moreover, she had never been to Shimla. It would have been fun visiting that place. But all thanks to her husband, instead of getting to enjoy, new place and people, she would be getting bored in the empty mansion.

A sigh escaped her mouth at the thought. She was about to move when her eyes met her husband's who was keenly looking at her. He was not just staring at her intensely. There was a glint of passion burning in his eyes.

Preeta gulped nervously and realised, she could use the word 'desire'. Her eyes wandered back to the closed gate and she, now actually realised that she would be alone with her husband for four days and nights.

A sudden wave of arousal crawled in her heart and she breathed out nervously. Even ten minutes hadn't passed and she could already feel the thrill in this situation. But her innocent heart couldn't pass the feeling of agitation that was ruling over her heart.

If she was excited about this situation, then she was scared too.

She could still feel his heated gaze on her, burning with passion of wanting her, making her nervous that now they were free of all the tensions. She knew, he was thinking the same and the single thought had stole the confidence to meet his eyes again.

Not daring to look at him, she nervously turned around and started walking inside. She could hear his footsteps behind her. Her heart was already drowning in uncertainty at what could happen in these four days. She had almost jumped when he closed the doors behind them.

If that wasn't enough, she was scared by hearing him calling her name.

"Preeta."

She gulped and slowly turned. A nervous smile curved on her lips as she tried to break the ice. He was still looking so intently at her.

"What?" She cursed mentally at how she couldn't keep the uncertainty hidden. It was getting all obvious in her nervous tone.

Her husband stepped ahead, slowly, calmly. His gaze not wavering for a bit. Just as he reached her, Preeta's train of thoughts had reached farther than her assumptions.

She stepped back in fear and it didn't go unnoticed by him.

Karan's eyebrows raised in amusement yet he kept his blank face. He stepped ahead and caught her waist while keeping his eyes on her and this time, Preeta couldn't move.

"Do you wanted to go to the wedding, Preeta?" He asked huskily.

Not thinking much about it, Preeta nodded. "Yes."

His hands roamed on her bare waist and Preeta could now feel the depth of this situation. Where it could end, where it could reach! She swallowed hard and stared at her husband who was now slowly smirking at her.

"Do you think that I would deny you because I don't care?" He asked while pulling her close. Preeta nervously shook her head and placed her hands on his chest to keep some distance. Not that she didn't like the closeness between them, but right now Karan was looking scarily obsessed.

"There must be some reason."

At her response, Karan smiled and nodded. A heavy breath escaped his mouth and he leaned down to stare deeply in her eyes.

"Yes, there is."

Preeta's face had turned warm and she lowered her eyes, still feeling unassertive.

"What is it?" She asked absentmindedly making him amused.

Suddenly, his hands reached for her face as Karan removed loose strands from her face and moved them back behind her ear. He could feel her holding her breathe. With another smirk sending her way, he pushed hair off her shoulder and stared at her neck.

"I wanted to spend some time alone with my dreamy wife."

Preeta saw him leaning more and closed her eyes when she could feel his breath on her neck. A shaky breath left her mouth when she felt his lips grazing her soft skin. Her hands fisted his shirt while hands kept roaming on her waist. At last, Preeta closed her eyes at the sudden contentment.

He kissed her neck again making her squirm in his gentle hold. He sucked on her skin making her feel different churns in her stomach and sensations between her legs. Preeta could feel her body getting warm by the coziness. He kept on smooching and biting gently on her neck.

But just as her hands had started moving up to reach his hair on their own, she felt his hands leaving her waist. He swiftly increased the gap between them by moving his face away and taking a step back.

Her breathes turned out harsh and Karan smirked in satisfaction while looking at the mark of his possession on her neck. Her heart was beating erratically and she could feel the difference in the pleasure they both had received in this moment than any other happened between them.

He wanted her and made her assured of it. But that wasn't just his sole motive. He made her realise that this time she too wanted him. Not just him, she wanted to please him and to get pleased.

But still the nervousness in her heart ruled over the desire that she was filling. He stepped back while giving her a mischievous smile which she wanted to wipe immediately.

'Make it hard for him.' She could remember her mother-in-law words. Preeta started feeling self-conscious all of a sudden. They had kissed before, made out like true couples. But never have, he had gazed tauntingly at her like that. She could still feel the sensation on her skin where his lips had touched.

"Wear something casual. We are going out."

Preeta shook her head with determination. What was he thinking now? Was he making it up for her for the wedding tour or he himself had planned something?

"No. Don't you have to complete your work, which you need to present in this weekend?" She taunted.

She could see her flirtatious, charming husband, smiling darkly. He clearly didn't like what she said.

Not giving her an answer, he started walking towards the stairs but just as he crossed her, he stopped. He looked in her eyes.

"Go to your room and change." He said while moving his eyes slowly over her body, knowingly to make her nervous.

Preeta breathed frustratingly and narrowed her eyes.

"I don't want to go. Go and do your tasks, for which you have cancelled our tour." She snapped when he had already started walking.

But at her words, he stopped and turned to give her his menacing stare. That was enough for Preeta to understand that he wasn't in the mood to repeat himself, again. She lowered her eyes. But then, he spoke and she could understand the hidden meaning in his words.

"We have four days, darling. Of course, four nights. Its a lot of time for me to complete all my pending tasks."
