Nationals is almost near when suddenly, the Freshman Class 1-2 were introduced to a new girl. She has olive-green eyes and a long, curly black hair that is in pigtails. She was wearing their school uniform like it was for fashion.

She has a charm that makes all of the boys like her but it was only Echizen Ryoma who doesn't care. He was looking outside the window when she approached him.

"Can I sit beside you?" she asked.

Ryoma quickly felt strange when he saw her eyes. At the back of his mind, he was thinking whether they have met each other before. "What's your name again?" he asked.

"Kuran Yumiko. It's nice to see you, Echizen-kun," she said.

"How'd you know my name?" he stood up, shocked but he already feels a strong connection to her.

"I haven't even introduced myself to you."

She took out a magazine and showed his face there.

"Oh, the Monthly Pro-Tennis," he sighed.

All the boys were staring jealously at him. "Why do Echizen always attract the beautiful ladies?" Horio wondered.

English Class came and he was still looking at her. "Strange... so strange...," he was whispering it as he was trying to concentrate on class and finally, English Class ended. It was now lunch.

Of course, Sakuno and Tomoka will go close to her and ask her if they can eat their bento together but she told them, "I will eat my bento with you if Echizen Ryoma will eat with us."

Echizen threw a serious look at her as he stopped organizing his things.

Tomoka smiled to ease the strong tension she felt between the two and asked him too. "It's a good idea, Ryoma-sama! Come eat with us! The new girl is asking for you!"

Ryoma suddenly felt that he's having the sensation he fears so much. At the moment he felt that he's losing himself again, he left the room and ran. His eyes went red and knew that he's actually drowning from Sakuno's scent already and whenever he feels that way since he became a Seigaku regular, he drinks too many bottles of water, milk and Ponta.

Also, whenever he feels abnormally thirsty for blood, he locks himself inside the restroom. It was just at the same time that he met Chairman Cross, the president of Cross Academy. It seemed, he knew of it already.

"What happened to him?" asked Sakuno. Tomoka just answered that she was clueless on whatever happened but Yumiko smiled.

He must have met Chairman Cross now. His transformation in becoming a Level D is becoming too quick and if he doesn't accept me, he'll become a Level E and that's what we have to prevent.

...

"You're Echizen Ryoma isn't it?" Chairman Cross asked.

Ryoma kept looking at the young chairman. He was astonished he knows his name. "Who are you? Why do you look seriously at me??? Get out of here!" it's obvious that he is very scared of him. His eyes were still red.

"You musn't be scared of me," he said.

"How'd you know my name?" he was walking away from him.

"We have your profile and it seems, your change to human to vampire is too quick. We decided to get you into our custody but it seems this school is just full of humans. There is only one person that we trust in this school. We can't risk the secret of the Vampire Society to be revealed, isn't it?" he said mischievously.

Ryoma felt weird but irritated of him but he can't believe one thing he told him, "That can't be true! Vampires are only mystical beings! I'm not a vampire!"

"Is there anything that can explain what was happening to you?" he asked. Chairman Cross just let him out of the restroom. He is confident that Yumiko will go get him.

Ryoma, who was very frightened of him, went outside of the restroom even his eyes are still bloody red and his thirst is drowning his senses.

He can't accept what he said, until he and Momo collided.

Momo's drink fell to the floor.

Ryoma went frozen and when he knew that he made a scar on his senpai's finger, he tried his best not to attack him even his instincts tells him to drink his blood through that scar.

The sensation is too painful already. The beat of his heart seemed drums in his chest, now.

Momo noticed that he's moving too strangely and his eyes are bloody red. "Echizen, why are your eyes red? Have you slept well yesterday?"

Ryoma did not respond. He kept his arms frozen and when he had stolen time, he went back to his classroom but that's where Sakuno, Tomoka and Yumiko are eating.

Sakuno looked at him and so is Yumiko who stood up. She took a box of tablets from her bag.

Ryoma sat at his chair and waited for the sensation to disappear. "Ryoma-kun, have you already met Chairman Cross?" she asked. It started to rain at that time.

She looked at Ryoma's eyes and it was looking straight at Sakuno. Ryoma stood up. He was walking straight where she is. Yumiko quickly knew that Ryoma went unconscious and if she doesn't do anything, he'll kill Sakuno without him knowing, so, she grabbed him quickly. Ryoma pushed her strongly that made Sakuno and Tomoka wonder what was happening.

She tried again but now, it was Kuran Kaname who stopped him from walking. Echizen Ryoma gains consciousness but his eyes are still red.

Kaname quickly grabbed him outside of the classroom and headed at the roof top with Yumiko. That's where she handed him the tablets. "Try drinking this if you ever feel thirsty again. Also, I know we already met each other. You're not yet changing when I first met you. You're still scared of me, Echizen-kun."

That's where he remembered why he was looking at her closely.

They have met each other inside the shop where he took his Seigaku Tennis Club uniform before. She followed him completely and when he was cornered that night, Kuran Yumiko drank his blood. It was the start of the strange reactions he was having and it was getting worse than expected that day. Now, she was in front of him.

"Your eyes are still red."

"What do you mean?"

"You are a Vampire right now," she said.

"I'm not a VAMPIRE!" he still tried to convince himself that he's only tired.

"You are still in Level D, Echizen Ryoma. Do you want those sensations to completely disappear? If you don't want to be a Level E, a vampire who lost human senses, listen to me. You know that I am the one that made you like this," she told him.

"This feeling always happen every lunch! I don't even know why I can't keep it anymore. I... right, this is my first time that I cannot control my thirst for blood! What did you do to me? What are you?" he asked angrily.

"I'm a pureblood Vampire. If you want those sensations to vanish, you'll drink my blood, thus, if you do this, you are now officially accepted at the Vampire Society. Most of all, the only thing I did is suck your blood and turn you as a vampire, nothing else," she replied.

He was so surprised when she even offered her neck to him but Ryoma only pushed her, making her fall on the floor. "I... I refuse!"

"You'll be a Level E in no time. That's why we came here to help you. My family knows I drank your blood because I took a liking to you. If you don't drink my blood, you'll lose yourself!"

"No way!" he screamed but, he knows he was becoming so thirsty that he may kill another human again just like the first time he woke up after encountering her. The dead body of a young boy in front of him traumatized him.

It's all because of her fault. She turned him into a vampire. "If I accept you, my sins wouldn't be forgiven!"

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I killed a young boy!" he cried.

Kuran Kaname already intruded and told him, "Forgive yourself, Ryoma-kun. We do not want that to happen but if you don't drink her blood, you'll die as a Level E. I know you're thirsty for blood and at this moment, you can't control it anymore. Accept her offer or else you'll turn into a Level E," Kaname told him.

"I don't want to!" he said but he knew he can trust them but he is still hesitating.

"We can help you move on from that past, Echizen-kun," Yumiko said.

"I can't. I'm not a vampire!" he screamed sadly.

"While you can't accept who you are, drink my blood instead," he said. It wasn't a suggestion but an order. Echizen Ryoma knew that the sensation is taking too uncontrollable and so, without warning, Kaname knelt and let Ryoma drink his blood.

Ryoma felt the painful thirst finally stopped after a while. His red eyes turned hazel finally. His thirst at that present time took his strength more than when he plays serious tennis, enough to make him faint. "What a stubborn child. He's just like Zero," Kuran Kaname said.

"I know he"ll soon accept his fate or else, he'll die as a Level E," she told her brother.

He woke up at the clinic after a while. He sighed. He was thinking if whatever happened to him wasn't true. So, when he saw the nurse, he asked, "Why am I here?"

"Oh, there were two people who saw that you collapsed at the rooftop. They said you'll be fine when you wake up. If ever you don't need me, you can leave now, Your coach is waiting for you, actually at her place," the young nurse said.

When she finished, he bowed and said thanks. He ran quickly at Ryuzaki-sensei's room. He had a bad feeling that whatever happened that rainy afternoon at the rooftop is real. He was running upstairs when Momo held his collar at his back. Echizen stopped and stared at him, "Momo-senpai, let me go."

Momoshiro looked at his eyes. It wasn't red anymore and so, he asked him, "Are you wearing contact lenses? I saw your eyes red this afternoon."

Ryoma was surprised. He knew it. Everything that happened that afternoon is real. So, he just answered him, "You're imagining things, Momo-senpai. Ryuzaki-sensei is waiting for me upstairs."

Momo let him go but he was very curious and confused why he will lie to him. He decided to follow him and eavesdrop at his conversation with Coach Ryuzaki.

Upon from opening the door where Coach Ryuzaki stays to welcome visitors, he saw Kuran Yumiko and Kaname seating in front of her.

Coach Ryuzaki's eyes are serious. He was very afraid that Yumiko and Kaname had told her his secret but actually, there wasn't anything wrong and she is still clueless but he was shocked when Coach Ryuzaki told him, "They said that because you collapsed today, it will be better if you study at Cross Academy, Night Class."

Momo was surprised. He knows that the school, Cross Academy is a prestigious school and very few had a chance to study there especially in the Night Class. He didn't expect that Ryoma will decline the offer.

"Why? You belong at the Night Class, Echizen-kun," Kaname said.

"I already said my side. I'll stay in Seigaku," he said.

Kuran Kaname turned to Coach Ryuzaki. "Most of the students have gone home already, right?"

"Yeah. Most of the students who are still here are in their clubs."

"Is there any empty room I can use to talk to that stubborn kid?"

Coach Ryuzaki felt goosebumps all over her and said, "There is. Just at the left side of this room."

"Excuse us," he said. He took Ryoma's left arm and dragged him out. Yumiko stayed inside the room to wait for her brother.

Momoshiro quickly stepped away from the door when he saw Kuran Kaname and Ryoma walking towards the door. He quickly hid and when Kuran already opened the door, he knew that Ryoma is trying to get away from him but his hold is too strong. "Let go off me!" he screamed.

Kuran Kaname threw him inside the nearest classroom where Ryoma fell on the floor. A table and a chair fell off upon his impact to it. Kaname locked the door and that's where he held his neck. "You're very stubborn. We did not come here to kill a Level E, right? My sister wanted you to survive as a Level D but you won't accept any of our offers. Whatever you do to keep your secret safe, there will be people who will learn it."

"How many times will I tell you I don't want to!? I will not leave Seishun Gakuen!" he screamed.

Kaname walked closer to him and sat in front of him. "You'll bring danger to humans here if you stay here," he reminded him. "If you don't want to, I'll keep a close contact to you. The guardians will be here. I believe you'll get thirsty again tomorrow," he said. "You'll accept that right?"

"They're like you, right?" he asked weakly. Kaname grinned. Echizen Ryoma sighed. He knew he has no choice but to accept. "I guess I have no choice."

"Good."
