Since the day Echizen got back home with his immediate family, they've noticed so many changes at his personality. They felt like the Ryoma that got back home isn't Ryoma at all. He stopped playing Tennis which made Nanjiroh confused. "Why would he stop playing?" he asked as he is staring at the Tennis Court they have on the temple. He was so annoyed more that whenever Echizen goes back home from school, he locks himself in his room.

The old Seigaku Tennis team which consists of Tezuka being the captain decided to go to his house to visit him and try to do something to make him happy again but Echizen seemed to separate himself to them. "I don't want to meet them!" screamed Echizen from his room. He's currently crying hard that time.

"Your friends just wanted to see you!" Nanako tried telling him.

"I don't want to!" he screamed again.

"I'll drag you out!" told his angry and bewildered father. He opened the door using a key and dragged him at the first floor of their house. Echizen stared at the happy faces of his senpais looking back at him but suddenly, he felt needle pricks on his head. Pieces of his lost memory that is connected to them comes back to him painfully, making him scream and get away from them.

Miyaki was just keeping an eye at him for days but when she noticed that he needs help coming from a person who can calm him down, she knew she has to appear before him.

He ran as fast as he can. He even stands up away from the cold earth whenever he fell down just for him to get away from them.

"What happened to Ochibi? Why'd he ran away and looked scared at us?" Eiji asked them. No one can answer his question.

She followed him at the deepest part of the forest as he was running and screaming in pain. After that, he's already at the tallest tree where she found him crying hard while he was hugging his legs. He had so many fears since the day he woke up at the hospital.

Rinko-san and Nanjiroh-san also followed him but they have noticed that Echizen is already hugging a girl and is talking to him, making him stop crying. "My son before doesn't cry. What exactly happened to him for all over that year that he ended up in the hospital? Who is that girl?" he asked Rinko.

Rinko seemed to have an idea but she wasn't sure. "Her face's familiar that it seemed I've seen him in my old pictures with my grandfather."

Miyaki held him up and told him, "Don't be afraid, do you understand?"

"I can't help but cry. Whenever I see my old Senpais, my head is aching," he said.

"I'll tell your parents about it," she said. She dried his tears and guided him back with her smooth hands on his back to where his parents are. Echizen separated from her but upon walking beside his father, he fainted in his arms.

"Who are you?" asked Nanjiroh as he carry him.

"You won't believe me because I don't look like one," she said.

"Your eyes! It just looks like Echizen's! Wait... but... that cannot be true...," Rinko said.

"It seemed she can confirm my connection to you and why I have calmed him down. His vampire instinct is not perfectly deleted by Yuki. It seemed before she died, the only thing she did is put all his memories into his subconscious," she said.

"What do you mean, Vampire Instinct?" Nanjiroh asked her.

"I am Rinko's grandmother while I am Ryoma's great grandmother. I am a pureblooded vampire," she told him. Rinko's finally saw in her memory who she is to her.

"But.. grandpa married a human!" Rinko said. "You look like her but... but..."

"No one knows I am actually a vampire until the man that attacked him woke my instincts and did this to him. I'm happy Toma Kira's dead already."

They know that Miyaki wasn't lying. "Stay with us. You're the only person who can help him lose the pain when his lost memories haunt him again. He's been like this for months now. We've talked and consulted many doctors already but they can't find the way to ease his pain."

"I understand."

It was also the same at school. He doesn't want to be with anyone except Sakuno. Echizen even pulls her out away from Tomoka every lunch and go at the roof top.

Sakuno can really feel his sadness. How can she make him happy again? She even don't know what happened to him why he went missing. Whenever they are together, he doesn't even talk and most of the time, she just let him hug her tight.

Echizen is staring at the sky when suddenly, Kachiro, Katsuko and Horio went inside. Since his abscence in Seigaku, their personalities changed a lot. They've become bad boys at school.

"Echizen Ryoma, seems like the old prodigy's afraid to play Tennis anymore and flirt around Ryuzaki Sakuno!" Horio said.

Echizen faced them bravely, "GO... AWAY!" he screamed.

"Maybe if we are first years, I'll follow you but we aren't first years anymore!" he said. Then, he lead the other two to target and hurt him using tennis balls. Ryoma's head ached too much. He did hold his head trying to get the pain away. He even tried destroying the fence to just leave but Sakuno stopped him. He hadn't had time to prevent himself after he saw those yellow balls. He pushed them away, making them lose their grip on their tennis rackets. Ryuzaki tried to stop them from hurting Ryoma but they didn't stop. Kachiro and Katsuko held his arms and pushed him near the fence. Horio kept punching him, saying, "Momo-senpai and Kaidoh-senpai kept comparing us to you! Even Coach Ryuzaki! What do you have? You stopped playing Tennis!"

Echizen fell on his feet and told him, "You don't understand!"

Ryuzaki Sakuno screamed again, "Get away from him! He has partial Amnesia!"

Horio and the other two were surprised. All of them are watching him cry in pain. His lost memories kept pounding in his head painfully. He stood up to hold Sakuno but his feet doesn't stick to the ground and fainted at Yumiko's arms.

Sakuno is really surprised to see Yumiko again. "You can't handle this on your own. Am I right, Sakuno?"

"He's in pain, why don't you make him a---," Yumiko cut her off.

"Our investigation isn't finished yet. He needs to be safe with his family for the mean time," she told her. "Also, this is what you want, right? That he's always with you!"

Ryuzaki blushed but she said, "Chigau yo! Not like this! He's unusually sad! I don't even know how to return his old smile and favorite phrase, 'Mada mada dane!"

Their teachers quickly went upstairs and found them. Coach Ryuzaki, in her anger quickly dropped their regular positions on the damage they have done to Ryoma. After that, she quickly brought him in their clinic where Ryoma slept.

When they are alone in the clinic, Coach Ryuzaki sighed. "I have to leave. His head also aches if he sees me."

"You've got to stay Coach Ryuzaki for a while," Yumiko said.

"Why?"

"The new Vampire Hunter Society are also helping us find out more about Toma Kira. Your grand daughter has a blood of his father, right?" she asked.

"Of course, why?"

"She needs to be a hunter to protect the sleeping vampire Ryoma. What he is right now is not what he really is. He's not human anymore but... we need him as a human to protect him against Toma Kira's group. We knew that they will try to kill him. Allow her to protect him!" she said.

"I'll go and talk to her about it," she said and left.

The next day, Sakuno went inside the clinic after her grandmother told her about herself and her father's identity. She gladly accepted the training and told herself, "I will protect him, Yumiko until the day he wakes up as a vampire and regains his memories!"

"Both of you will become the new prefects. Zero died as a Level E already," she said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Kiryuu died because of depression and he lost himself after Yuki died."

"Kaname-oniisan and Chairman Cross asked me to let you both go to Cross Academy and change schools. It will be better if there are more eyes seeing him and knowing his business, right?" she told her.

"Yeah, you're right."

"His team mates all became a part of Cross Academy's Day Class and members of Tennis Club. They are actually the people who suggested us that."

Sakuno smiled. After that, there was an awkward silence. Yumiko saw that the sun is already going down when suddenly, she felt Ryoma's hand hold her left hand.

"Stay. I don't know who you are but I feel more comfortable around you," he said. Yumiko was so surprised and Sakuno felt jealousy, again. Yumiko cannot resist him and so, she stayed.

"Thanks," Echizen Ryoma slept while Yumiko is holding his hands.
