An alternate ending to Act 17 of AAMTBS. Instead of being unable to finish the job, what if Claire DID wipe Max's memory?

~Claire~

"Max, I know what I have to do... but I'm not sure if I have enough strength to do it."

"Claire, follow your heart and you'll always do what's best, one way or another."

"Thank you."

I then began to wipe his memory with the power from the crystal.

"So be it." Those words wounded me, but I had to stay strong .

I had to finish the job.

The world around us turned white. The process would be complete soon.

"Max, I want to start over. I really do. This is why I have to  do this."

"I understand." He then closed his eyes and I took myself out of all his memories. As I finished the process, I warped him back to his house, to his room. When the light cleared, I was all alone in the clearing.

Something inside of me was telling me that there won't be any monsters if I just tried to finish making things right.

Max and I were going to start over... some day.

That's it.

I will probably continue this plot in some big AU story.

But that's all for now.
