9| Your Loss, Just Sayin', Destiny's Amazing & I Ain't Playin'
☆ DESTINY ☆
Mistake?
What the heck did Sekani mean by that?
Even more importantly...
Why was Sekani saying something nice about Destiny?
Absolutely nothing had made sense to Kiandre right now, and he didn't really know why either.
"What do you mean by I made a mistake rejecting Destiny?" Kiandre wanted to know. "And I thought you hated her. Why are you suddenly saying nice things about her? What's going on?"
Sekani didn't even answer the first question to be honest, there were too many things to say. He had answered the second question though, but he had kept it short and sweet.
Just like him.
Minus the sweet bit.
"Maybe Destiny just ain't as bad as I thought she was, my brother, is that bad?"
It wasn't bad, it was just weird.
Sekani being nice to Destiny was like... oh Kiandre didn't know?
Kassandra being nice to Destiny.
It just didn't really make any sense whatsoever.
Kiandre didn't say anything much as he was just lowkey suspicious on why Sekani had suddenly changed his mind about Destiny.
"Y'all know anything about this, sis?" Kiandre had asked her, when Kassandra had walked into their conversation at the perfect time.
"Yes," Kassandra answered. "The idiot stupidly made a deal with Valentina that he'd be nicer to Destiny if Valentina shuts up about his age at Same Difference tonight. He wants to go but he's underage."
That was actually a really good deal, come to think of it.
It was about time Sekani had forgiven Destiny for accidentally tipping over a Bunsen Burner and giving the guy an F in his science project anyway.
It wasn't on purpose, and it was over two years ago now. Sekani really needed to let it go already.
"Does Destiny know about this?"
"Valentina had told me that she'll tell her about it later on today so hopefully she already has. If she hasn't then pfft. We have some serious talkin' to do."
Kiandre didn't really know how to reply to that, not that it had mattered much because Kassandra had talked for him anyway.
She had known her brother had rejected Destiny via Sekani who had known that via Kiandre himself and well, as Destiny's worst enemy of all time, Kassandra was over the moon about it.
Sitting down next to her brother, Kassandra laughed to herself before checking her makeup via a mirror. What she was holding in her hands right now was killing her (in terms of weight) but it wasn't even that heavy.
She was just kind of weak like that.
"Ooh, and by the way boo, I heard that you rejected Destiny," she announced loudly for the whole world to hear. "I'm so glad. Destiny wasn't right for you anyway. You could have done so much better than that witch, and now you can."
Kiandre had just shot her the dirtiest look ever, and so did Sekani as well...
...Then he had unexpectedly told his cousin to shut the hell up.
Maybe Sekani wasn't so bad after all... which was hard to believe considering the way he had been treating Destiny and everyone else for that matter earlier on.
He was actually a pretty nice kid.
It had just depended on who the guy was around, to be honest. Inevitably, he was going to be rude to his enemies, but not his friends.
Unless they had annoyed him, but even then, Sekani had rarely gotten annoyed, believe it or not.
"If you weren't doing that stupid deal with Valentina then you would be on my side, Sekani- you know that right?"
"Deal or no deal, taunting Destiny for no reason is wrong. So stop doing it, Kassandra," Sekani told her, but Kassandra didn't listen and walked away.
She was about to walk away but she didn't because she needed to pick up what she had bought. She then walked away after that, but had said something before that.
"My bag's getting pretty heavy," she lied. "I'll see y'all in the car. Or not, it's up to you. Don't really care but if you take too long, imma go to Same Difference tonight without y'all. Toodles."
Kiandre and Sekani's eyes were on her as she left but none of them had liked her enough to actually say bye to her.
For crying out loud.
She was so annoying!
Kiandre had sometimes wished that he could have traded sisters with someone, anyone, but sadly he couldn't, and it was going to be that way for the rest of his life.
But hey, he was complaining but not fully complaining. Kassandra was in university right now so Kiandre didn't even see her that much, unless it was the holiday.
"You didn't answer my question on why you think it was a mistake of me to reject Destiny," Kiandre reminded him.
Then he remembered something, which totally freaked Sekani out.
"No way, do you have a crush on her?"
"What, no, of course not!" Sekani shouted way too loudly, his eyes widening as he had stood up. "If I had one on her then I wouldn't have been rude to her since and I would have forgiven her a long arse time ago for her sins but I didn't. Plus she ain't all that anyway, and you know I only like girls the same age as me. Except Ariana Grande, man that girl is tight!"
Sekani loved Ariana Grande.
Nevertheless, his theory about him not being rude to Destiny assuming he had liked her wasn't the most accurate.
So many people Kiandre knew (and Destiny as well for that matter) were mean to the people that they had liked romantically.
It wasn't the right thing to do but some people had done that.
In fact, Kiandre used to be rude to the girl he liked before moving to Destiny's school because he didn't know how to control his feelings, but pfft.
He was Kiandre, he wasn't sane.
If he was sane then he wouldn't have rejected Destiny. That girl was an angel.
"Like I said, Destiny's genuine as hell, man, from what Valentina told me today anyway. In a room full of bad girls, Destiny's that angel just descending from heaven, y'know what I'm saying?"
OK, this was getting almost way too weird now man, Sekani was never this nice to Destiny.
This got Kiandre thinking, Sekani had mentioned Valentina's name twice now.
So maybe...
"Hang on a second, did Valentina tell you to say all this?"
"She did, yes," Sekani agreed. Everything made sense now. "But I agree with her, to an extent." He then walked off too, before whispering something in Kiandre's ear.
"Aight, imma head home now... but for real though, you seriously messed up."
"You don't need to emphasise it every twenty seconds. It's really getting on my nerves now!"
Sekani laughed to himself before patting Kiandre on the back and heading out the shop too.
"You crack me up, cuz. But like I said, you seriously messed up. You messed up so hard that if someone made up a song about a messed up person, then they'd literally be indirecting you."
Kiandre was about to hurt him but Sekani had already gone out of the shop.
Kiandre was about to go too, but didn't, because...
...That was when Esmeralda came with her entire crew, literally tormenting the guy for what he had done.
Kiandre had only managed to put on one sleeve of his coat before Esmeralda had come.
Goodness knew what Kiandre was thinking wearing a winter coat in July. Maybe that was what people did in his home country, but that was not the way people had rolled here in the UK.
The reason Esmeralda had taken so long all this time was because Calista was trying to stop her from talking to Kiandre.
So did Destiny and Valentina too to be honest, but Esmeralda didn't want to hear it. She legit wanted to fight Kiandre.
"Yo, Kiandre!" Esmeralda called, with Kiandre's heart racing at his name.
He was so petrified that he had nearly had a mini heart attack because Esmeralda had called his name so loudly for everyone to hear her.
"That's right, boo. I'm talkin' to you, Kiandre!"
When Kiandre had heard his name, he had instantly turned around.
But when he had seen Esmeralda... he wasn't very happy about it, because he knew that she was associated with Destiny.
Destiny probably told her about me rejecting her, and I'm assuming that she wants revenge now because she looks pretty ticked off, Kiandre thought to himself.
Maybe Sekani was right-- this was a whole mistake. Maybe he was foreshadowing this. If I hadn't rejected her then none of this would be happening right now.
Oh no, Kiandre, what have you done?
"Esmeralda?"
Then Calista came out...
"Calista?"
Then Janette...
"Janette?"
Then Destiny & Valentina.
"You brought your whole crew with you, Destiny?" Kiandre frowned, folding his arms. "Seriously? How low can you get?"
That was probably the rudest thing that Kiandre had ever said to her but Destiny couldn't blame him, she would have been annoyed too if his friends had suddenly ganged up on or against her for rejecting him.
"I didn't want to come, Esmeralda forced us to."
"Chica ain't got an off switch!"
And Valentina was right, she really didn't either.
It did not take a genius to realise that.
Before Kiandre had even realised it though, Esmeralda came straight up to him literally pinning the poor guy to the wall behind him.
They made some serious eye contact, but Kiandre was still scared pretty much scared of her.
"How dare you reject Destiny, you're going to regret rejecting Destiny- I'll make you regret rejecting Destiny."
When Esmeralda's friends had eventually realised what she was doing, they tried pulling her away from him which backfired.
Everyone was watching them, but mainly Esmeralda as she had started the whole thing.
"Whoa whoa whoa," Kiandre said, trying to escape. "Have you guys considered things from my perspective? I can't control who I have feelings for. Destiny's a good girl and all but I only like her as a friend. I'm sorry. See y'all at Same Difference."
Then he went off, Destiny feeling more guilty than before.
He hates me now... This was a bad idea. I shouldn't have brought my friends along. They're nice and all but they don't always make things better.
I should have done all this myself. Now he's going to think I'm desperate.
"Your loss, just sayin'! Destiny's amazing and I ain't playin'!"
Then Esmeralda turned around to look at her friends who were staring blankly at her.
"What?"
