27| & What Part Of Leave Kazenosuke Alone Don't You Understand, Destiny?
☆ KAZENOSUKE ☆
Wow.
Kiandre's really dead?
And it's all my fault?
I find it hard to believe but it's true.
I'm a murderer.
Destiny couldn't have stopped thinking thoughts like this to herself, even after Kazenosuke had yelled at her before storming out of the room.
She had even wanted to cry over the thought of losing Kiandre but she didn't, because when she wanted to do that, Kerazin had sat down right next to her, before asking her if she was OK.
Destiny was initially supposed to repeat sixth form again, but Denise didn't really find it necessary for her to do that because her grades were cool.
All of her friends except Esmeralda had gone to the same university as her, including Kerazin, Terrence and newly revealed Kazenosuke.
Whilst Destiny was taking Computer Science along with Kerazin, Terrence and now Kazenosuke, Calista and Janette were taking Sociology and Valentina was taking Spanish instead.
Right now though, Destiny was annoyed at herself for getting Kazenosuke to yell at her in front of the entire class..
But she was even more annoyed at herself for killing Kiandre and not knowing about it until now.
"Hey," Kerazin whispered, when he had sat down next to her. He was going to put an arm around her but then stopped after he had remembered that he didn't even like her romantically to begin with.
"You OK?"
Destiny didn't reply to that question, she had just looked at Kerazin straight in the eyes, Kerazin doing the same thing with her.
"What do you think, Kerazin? Kazenosuke literally just yelled at me in front of the entire class."
Kerazin turned red at that slightly, before muttering the word 'right' to her, then instantaneously apologising to her for asking her that question.
Kerazin was honestly such a chill guy, and Destiny had loved him for it, but not in that way.
As friends.
"Did you know about Kiandre's death?"
"Of course I knew about Kiandre's death, he was one of my best friends," Kerazin deadpanned, playing with a pencil he found on the table whilst placing a hand on his chin in boredom. "Can't believe he's really gone."
What was that for, Destiny?! Why did you just pepper spray me?!
Why would you do something like that, Destiny?
Weirdly, the first sentence above was the last thing Kiandre had really said to her before he had died.
Very strange way to say goodbye, and Destiny knew that. The second thing was Kerazin reacting to Destiny putting as well as using pepper spray on Kiandre.
"Did Kiandre have like a funeral or anything? Did he get buried? Cremated? Dismembered? If so, how comes nobody told me about it?"
Kerazin stared at Destiny blankly when she had asked if Kiandre had gotten dismembered, because why would his family members (or anyone else for that matter) deliberately take his body parts out?
Even if the dismemberment process was an accident... why separate all body parts?
He had smiled a bit hearing that, but then he had frowned again after realising that Kiandre was really gone.
"Well, to be fair, his parents didn't want his murderer at his funeral, no offence to you. And also he got cremated. But I don't really know why though. Burying is much more effective, as when rapture happens, you can easily come back to life."
Kiandre's death was too much for Destiny to handle.
So unexpectedly?
She had started crying on the table.
Kerazin hadn't even realised that she was crying but when he did, he was really sympathetic towards her.
"Oh no, Destiny, I didn't mean to make you cry!" He told her, hugging her, Destiny doing the same thing with him. "But if you must know, Kassandra died too."
Was that supposed to made Destiny feel better, Kerazin?
Because it really didn't.
It had just made everything much worse than it already was & it had also made Destiny feel even more guilty than before.
When Destiny had heard that, she was even more upset than before, really asking Kerazin if she had killed Kiandre's sister too.
"Kassandra couldn't cope with her brother's death, so she died in a car crash. People say the car crash was an accident, but I believe it was on purpose. I feel extremely bad for their family, especially their parents. Kiandre and Kassandra's funerals were on the same day and they both got cremated. Their parents literally have no children left. Sekani's really mad at you by the way... and I realise I'm not making anything better so I'm just going to shut up now."
On the bright side, Kassandra was dead now so no one could have picked on Destiny and her girls anymore...
But on the not so bright side?
Destiny was a murderer and Kiandre's parents had no children left because of her.
She could never have lived with that fact.
The thought that both Kiandre and Kassandra were gone for good now because of Destiny had just haunted her for life & she had completely resented herself for it as well.
"How do I make it up to Kazenosuke?" She wanted to know. "He's really mad at me. And also, how comes you're not mad at me for pepper spraying Kiandre?"
"Nah, I wouldn't mess with Kazenosuke if I were you. The kid's had it rough. And I don't know, really. He kinda deserved it to be honest, for rejecting an amazing girl like you. But he didn't deserve to die though."
No, Kerazin didn't have any feelings for Destiny.
A lot of people had said she was amazing really, regardless of gender.
But Destiny had felt really bad for hurting Kazenosuke's feelings like that.
She was about to say something but didn't because just then their teacher had asked her and Kerazin if they had finished their conversation.
Before Kerazin had nicely gotten forced (if that was possible) to go back to his seat, he had warned Destiny not to get on Kazenosuke's bad side.
But Destiny didn't listen.
She wanted to help him out.
So after lesson, she ha convinced her and her girls to try and chat to Kazenosuke.
**********
"Sociology is so boring, who would have thought? I regret taking it with my entire life!" Calista ranted.
"I know it's boring, but the teacher is so fine and nice, girl! You gotta give it a chance."
Calista and Janette had just finished their lesson, and were coming out of it, holding their textbooks and everything.
The lesson had really sucked so Calista had regretted taking the subject entirely but Janette had liked it because the teacher was good looking and nice.
It was lunchtime now, so both of them were going to go off to find Valentina and Destiny.
Although it had turned out that they didn't need to do this because Destiny and Valentina had come to them instead.
Esmeralda wasn't with them because she had gone to a completely different university. University of Exeter- she wasn't smart enough for Cambridge.
She was the most unserious person in the entire group, and she had hated studying. She had still talked to them though luckily and they had often had communication with them over the phone.
"Guys, I really need your help. I want to talk to Kazenosuke but I'm scared."
When Calista and Janette had heard that, they had pretty much stared at each other before staring back at Destiny as if she was crazy or something.
Destiny had already told Valentina that she wanted to talk to Kazenosuke (as he was really mad at her and everything), but Valentina had refused.
So what made Destiny believe that her friends wouldn't have reacted the same way?
"Nuh uh, girl," Janette had disagreed as well, shaking her head like her life had depended on it. "Don't mess with Kazenosuke. Didn't Kerazin warn you about this?"
Yes, he did.
But Destiny didn't listen.
She wanted to help Kazenosuke.
"Yes. He's extremely pissed at me because I was the reason for Kiandre's death," Destiny told them. "Did you guys know about Kiandre's death?"
They must have done so or something because they couldn't have stopped staring at each other like crazy.
For like twenty seconds anyway, until Calista had finally said something to break the silence once and for all.
"Uhmmm..." Calista trailed off, scratching her head helplessly.
"We were at his funeral," Valentina whispered to Destiny. "It was Kassandra's funeral too."
"Their coffins were so pretty as well!" Janette added. "Kiandre's was this nice shade of blue, Kassandra's was like light purple-"
She had stopped talking about their coffins when all of them had looked at her rather annoyingly.
Destiny was going to ask them why she wasn't invited to Kiandre's funeral, but then she had remembered what Kerazin had said to her before:
Well, to be fair, his parents didn't want his murderer at his funeral, no offence to you. And also he got cremated. But I don't really know why though. Burying is much more effective, as when rapture happens, you can easily come back to life.
All four of them had seen Kazenosuke outside by himself, doing something on his phone.
He was sitting at a table with some sort of yellow umbrella on top of it, which must have been for decoration or something because it wasn't even raining at all right now.
They had argued with Destiny a million times that they really shouldn't have bothered him, but the girl didn't want to hear it.
She wanted to help out Kazenosuke.
And now was the chance too.
"Destiny, this is a bad idea. Just leave Kazenosuke alone. He's going through a lot." Valentina snapped at her.
But Destiny didn't listen.
She went over to him.
And like her friends had told her..
He was pissed as hell when he had seen her.
"Kazenosuke..." Destiny was really quiet. "I know you're mad at me.. but can we talk?"
When Kazenosuke had seen her, he had gotten absolutely infuriated, wanting to leave but didn't because he wanted to shout at her.
"What are you doing here, Destiny?! I thought I told you never to speak to me again!"
"I didn't mean to kill Kiandre..."
Kazenosuke was even more annoyed than before.
"You just don't understand, do you?!" He ranted at her. He was actually crying now, and Destiny had felt really guilty. "Kiandre was my best friend! And he's gone now, thanks to you! Are you happy?!"
Destiny didn't reply.
"But you've got Kerazin and Terrence though. Even Trevor as well."
"They're not the same as Kiandre though! I'm close to them, but not as close as I was to Kiandre, so back off before I hurt you!"
Then he had commanded her to leave him alone, before exasperatingly packing his things and leaving.
Destiny felt really awful over what had just happened, but she wasn't giving up there.
The reason that she had wanted to talk to Kazenosuke so bad was because she just wanted to apologise to him, but Kazenosuke didn't want to hear it.
"How did it go?" Calista asked Destiny, when she had come back.
But Destiny didn't reply.
For she had cried like Kazenosuke too.
Kazenosuke was now inevitably really mad at her.
And it was all Destiny's fault.
She didn't blame him at all.
