Picture above: Constance Wu as Zainab & Tituss Burgless as Ephraim (Same Difference security guards/ husband and wife)

Just pretend they're wearing the same thing as they're wearing in the picture 'cause what they're wearing up there is what I would have wanted them to wear anyway :)

DESTINY

Destiny's friends were really and seriously taking their time.

She was getting beyond pissed now, and this wasn't even funny anymore.

Annoyed, Destiny had texted the girls frantically in the group chat (because texting them individually would have taken forever and she didn't want that) whilst simultaneously walking around in circles and pretty much cursing to herself.

Sekani realised she was cursing so much and was frankly quite shocked at her, mainly because he had never really seen Destiny in this specific state before.

Plus like Kiandre, she never swore.

So why she was swearing now, Sekani didn't know, although he found it weird not to comment about it. He wondered what was up with her.

"Yooo, Destiny. You OK? I've never heard you swear before, what's going on?"

"For goodness sake, they're taking forever!" Destiny screamed from the top of her lungs, before calming down & hyperventilating uncontrollably when everyone had stopped to stare at her due to how loud she was being.

"And yeah, I'm fine, Sekani, thanks for asking."

"Don't look it, and who's taking so long?"

Destiny told him her girls, before reluctantly explaining to the guy that they had been gone for nearly twenty minutes now (seventeen) but they hadn't come back since.

Yeah, they had been standing there for seventeen minutes.

The queue was that long.

Despite this though, they were making progress... kinda. Sekani & Destiny were nearly at the front of the queue but Destiny hadn't really heard from her girls since.

Sekani also wanted to know where they said they were going to be, with Destiny grudgingly telling him that whilst Esmeralda & Calista had gone to get a parking ticket, Janette and Valentina had gone to the white chocolate fountain at the back of the nightclub instead.

And for some reason, this had got Sekani thinking hard.

Destiny had no clue as to what he was thinking about, but the way he was looking right now, he kind of looked like he had just come with a good idea for something.

"Hmmm, yeah I see the problem."

"What's the problem?"

"That white chocolate fountain is seriously good! Forget seconds, I had fifty fifths. It's crazy delicious; you should try it. But not now though, maybe when you enter the actual nightclub."

Even if it was delicious, it shouldn't have taken her girls nearly twenty minutes to come back.

Destiny casually pointed this out to Sekani, who also told her that the security guard at the back of the nightclub called Zainab (who was there in case people had tried to enter without a ticket) was super sweet and nice to everyone.

So Destiny's girls were probably having a long arse conversation with her about only God knew what, not really noticing the time or the fact that Destiny was impatiently waiting for them either.

"But don't worry, Destiny. You got me."

"I'd rather die than be with you, Sekani, no offence."

Sekani just eyed her emotionlessly, before telling her 'imma pretend you didn't just say that' as they had headed to the front of the queue once and for all.

At the front of the queue was the security guard Ephraim, asking everyone if they had a ticket as Same Difference was ticket only.

And as because Sekani was in front of Destiny, he had therefore gotten asked about his ticket first by Ephraim.

"Can I see your ticket, please?"

Sekani had very happily handed his ticket over to him, where Ephraim had scanned it because someone people had forged the tickets online (they were very rare to get to be fair), opening the red barrier rope that had taken one to the nightclub.

Sekani was very beyond shocked when Ephraim had told him that he could have gone in, mainly because the dude was underage and that didn't seem to bother Ephraim at all.

Suspiciously, Sekani had stared at a rather unfazed Ephraim before saying anything else.

"Hold up, hold up, hold up," Sekani told him after a while. "You ain't gonna ask me for my age or any of that?"

"No, 'cause we trust people enough to be 18+ to enter the nightclub," Ephraim informed him. "Why'd you ask? Ya underage?"

Sekani had just laughed at that really hardly before saying 'Me? Underage? Never'. In the meantime, Ephraim had told the dude to enjoy the nightclub whilst Sekani had said 'don't mind if I do' to him.

Truth be told, Ephraim already kinda knew that the dude was underage, but he didn't really say anything because he was tired and kicking people out was his wife Zainab's job.

When Sekani had entered Same Difference, meeting as well as fist bumping Kiandre along the way, Ephraim in the meantime had asked Destiny for her ticket instead.

"Yeah, sure, it's in my bag, lemme just get it and..."

"Hey girl!" Esmeralda, Calista, Janette & Valentina had just walked into the scene literally pushing past everybody in the line.

She couldn't have just done that.

They clearly didn't see the sign that had told everybody no pushing past other people in the queue at all.

Or more specifically:

Don't save spaces for anyone else, it's not fair on others. Don't push past others in the queue as well, or we'll send you home!

"Sorry we took so long, baby girl," Esmeralda continued. "That white chocolate fountain is the bomb, girl! I'm tellin' you!"

"Ahem."

Ephraim was staring at all four of them in annoyance, because they had pushed past everyone in the queue and they weren't allowed to do that.

Esmeralda, Janette & pretty much everyone else in Destiny's group besides Destiny herself had glanced at Ephraim back in annoyance, with Janette breaking the silence by asking something.

"Do you have a problem?"

"Ain't no pushing past anyone in this queue," Ephraim condemned. "Don't care who the hell y'all are, all of y'all, go to the very back of the line, now. Where you all belong in the first place."

Even when Calista had told Ephraim that all four of them were with Destiny, the dude still didn't want to hear it.

They were completely doomed now, and they were about to move to the back (except Destiny, as she was already there before)... that was until Zainab came up to Ephraim and said something to him.

"Oh, come on baby, give 'em a chance," she soothed, hitting the guy playfully in the stomach. "I was chatting to 'em at the back of the nightclub. We be chattin' for bare long about celebrities. All four of them are pretty dope."

She hadn't finished yet, she was still talking before she had told Ephraim how pretty they looked.

"Pretty enough for us to go to the nightclub without a ticket?" Valentina wanted to know.

"Nice try, and you the least prettiest. Jeans, seriously? Even my two year old has better fashion sense that that... but fine. Y'all can stay in here, but show me your ticket. No ticket, no nightclub. Those are the rules and I can't change that. I'll get in trouble if I did."

Ephraim had gotten in trouble if he had gone against the rules?

But he had literally let Sekani into the nightclub, despite the fact that the kid was underage and Ephraim knew that.

So why he had decided to let the kid off the hook, nobody knew, but either way, everyone except Destiny had managed to bring their tickets out successfully.

All of Destiny's friends had crossed the red barrier rope now, with all of them pretty much waiting for Destiny.

"Hurry up, Destiny."

"I don't have a ticket!" She told Janette. "I think I left it at home!"

"What do you mean you left it at home, D? What kinda nonsense is that? You said that you had it in your bag when I had asked you if you had it in my Cadillac!"

Every single one of Destiny's friends now were annoyed at her, with Valentina even begging Zainab & Ephraim if they could have left Destiny off the hook as she was with them.

"No ticket, no nightclub." Ephraim reminded them unhelpfully. "I've told you that already & I hate repeating myself. I'm not changing my mind either."

The cutest thing had happened next.

Esmeralda told Zainab & Ephraim that if Destiny couldn't go to the nightclub, then she wasn't going to go either.

"What, we doing that now?" Calista questioned.

"Of course we doin' that, chica," Valentina snapped at her. "Destiny's our baby girl. And if she can't go, then I ain't goin' either. It's not fair on her."

Destiny smiled at both of them really widely, before asking them if they would have really done that for her, and they had all said yes.

"We chicas, girl. We stay together, we roll together!" Janette shouted at her.

And things were really looking up now because she had found her ticket located at the very bottom of her bag.

After Destiny had showed Ephraim her ticket, he let her in, with Calista telling her to never scare them like that again.

Same Difference was amazing.

It was more amazing than what Destiny had thought anyway.

And it was crazy as everyone had seemed to be jamming out to the same tune:

This is for my peeps
With the Bentleys and the Hummers & the Benz
Escalades, twenty three inch rims
Jumpin' out the Jaguar with the Tims, keep your bread up

And live good
East coast, West coast, worldwide
All my playas in the hood, stay fly
And if your ballin', let me hear you say right
Right

What it had looked like?

Here.

It was even weirder for all of them because literally everyone had kept on staring at them.. but not in a bad way.

In a good way, 'cause all of them had looked nice, especially Destiny.

Whoa, is that Destiny?

Dangggg, bro! Is that Destiny Ryan from school?

Isn't she the girl that Kiandre had rejected? Kiandre is seriously missing out, man!

Compliments like that had kept going on around the nightclub, and Destiny couldn't have felt any more elated because of it.

Craziest thing of all, one of Kiandre's homies from school called Terrence came up to all five of them, and he was wearing a tuxedo and shades.

"Well, dang! Look who stepped up."

"Leave 'em alone, Terrence!" Kerazin, another one of Kiandre's homies (he had many) called from the far distance.

Esmeralda had thanked him for it, before Kerazin told them that they shouldn't have mentioned it and that they looked hot, especially Destiny.

But the compliments didn't stop there.

Two of the most popular kids from their school aka Chantelle & Tabitha walked up to all five of them, and they couldn't stop complimenting them.

Normally, popular kids were pretty mean but no, not Chantelle & Tabitha. Definitely not Chantelle and Tabitha. They were the nicest and most genuine people ever.

Chantelle was wearing a short white dress with hearts all over it, and Tabitha was wearing pretty much the same thing as Valentina, but her hair wasn't curly... it was straight instead.

"Ooh, wow, girls! Y'all look tight!" Chantelle announced candidly. "Destiny, I am totally digging that dress."

"Thank you, Chantelle, babyyy!"

"No problem..." she answered. "Oh and we heard Kiandre rejected you, don't worry about this, boo! It's his loss, plus Kiandre ain't who you think he is anyway."

When Janette had asked Chantelle what she had meant by that, she was about to explain what she had meant... but didn't because apparently her boyfriend was waiting for her outside.

Everyone was thinking the same thing.

You can't just drop some bomb like that girl and then leave.

Although then again, that wasn't really her fault as her boyfriend had just texted her at the wrong time. And definitely the wrong time as well.

She was just about to reveal some juicy dirt on Kiandre.

But she couldn't anymore as her significant other was kinda patiently waiting outside for her and he didn't like waiting for people either as he was a pretty impatient person- Destiny could relate to that.

She could have been the same thing as well.

"She'll tell you guys later," Tabitha promised. "Don't sweat it for now, enjoy Same Difference, y'all!"

Then both of them were off.

The five of them in the meantime (when they were alone anyway, as people literally couldn't stop complementing them) had talked about whether they should have stayed together or separated instead.

Calista suggested that they should have separated as they were always together, causing Esmeralda, Janette and Valentina to walk off in one corner, whilst Destiny and her had stayed in the corner they were in now.

They had all hugged each other after that, before Esmeralda had told all of them to meet outside at 11:30 (it was about 5:30 now) so that they could have gone home on time and Destiny wouldn't have gotten into any trouble.

Agreeing to that, the five of them had said bye to each other before they had done what they had come to Same Difference to do.

To have some fun!

And that had just begun.
