☆ DESTINY ☆
Funnily enough, that was exactly the same way that Priscilla had reacted earlier as well.
As in Destiny if she was out of her mind for going Same Difference tonight, not anything else that Israel had said because she hadn't exactly said that.
I knew he was gonna react like this... but then again, what was I thinking? Destiny thought to herself. But then again, I wasn't thinking. Maybe Priscilla's right. I'm better than this.
She just realised?
"Please Israel, why can't I go?" Destiny begged.
"Did you not just hear me?" Israel wanted to know, staring her down. "Same Difference is a messed up nightclub, sis. I heard one of Kiandre's homies Kerazin nearly got shot there the other day. Only goodness knows what would have happened if he did actually get shot. He may not even be alive right now!"
To be honest, Israel had usually yelled at Destiny.
But not in that way.
Whenever Destiny had done something (incredibly) stupid and Israel had found out about this, then he would almost always have disciplined her, but he had done so out of love and because he had cared about her.
If I don't tell you off for the nonsensical things you do, Destiny, then it means that I don't love or care about you but I do, Israel told her the other day, when Destiny had refused to study for her exams for the first ever time because she was heavily procrastinating and she couldn't be bothered.
If you do something wrong and I let it slide or go unnoticed, then how you gonna learn from your mistakes?
"Israel, please." Destiny looked like she wanted to cry but she didn't. "I'm already dressed for it so I might as well just go to it. I've never wanted anything more in my entire life."
"To go to a nightclub where there's a high risk or chance of you getting drunk?" Israel questioned, staring at his sister confusingly and blankly.
"That came out wrong," Destiny realised, laughing a bit. "Totally wrong. But you should hopefully get what I mean, big bro. Remember the day when you snuck off to your friend's house party when you were supposed to be studying. I kept it a secret, so now you have to pay me back."
Sadly, Destiny was right.
Israel had really snuck off the the other day go to a party whilst he had supposed to be studying, and Destiny had caught him.
Israel had made a deal with her that if she hadn't told Denise about this then he would have given her half of his allowance, and he really meant it.
After a long time, Destiny had listened to him, and she had taken a long time because the last time someone had said they would have given her money for doing something from them, they didn't stick to it.
For instance, Kerazin had promised Destiny that he would have given her a fiver if she had helped him get a good grade in his Maths test.
She had helped the dude out (he had even gotten a higher grade than her by 10%) but he had only paid her back one pound instead.
"What's the meaning of this, Kerazin, where's the rest of the five pounds?" Destiny hissed the other day, staring down at the money Kerazin had given her in annoyance.
Kerazin in the meantime had just pretty much avoided all types of eye contact with her, whilst simultaneously scratching his head as he had thought of a good excuse as to why he hadn't paid the girl back what he said he would.
"Yeah, about that Destiny..." he trailed off helplessly, avoiding eye contact with her again. "I don't have any money. That's the only money I have. I'm really sorry."
Destiny had gotten so furious that she didn't even consider why Kerazin might not have had any money in the first place, yelling at the guy in front of everyone, Kerazin just staring at her cluelessly.
"Are you kidding me, Kerazin? You said you'd pay me a fiver if I help you ace the maths test! You got a higher grade than me, so just pay me already."
"Uhm... you don't understand. And you have no idea what I'm going through right now so just leave me alone!"
Then Kerazin had just started crying before walking away.
Only for him to ignore Destiny for the rest of the school day.
The reason he had cried in the first place was because his sister was dying, and he had used the four pounds he had to pay her bills because he wasn't sure if she was going to make it out of the hospital alive or not.
Luckily, she did, but she really couldn't have, and Kerazin didn't want to risk anything. His sister had gotten run over by a car, but she hadn't even done anything wrong.
She wasn't using her phone whilst crossing the road & she didn't listen to music or anything- it was just an unfortunate situation as the driver of the car that had hit her had gone way past the speeding limit.
Kerazin was extremely furious at Destiny, blocking her on his phone and everything. In Destiny's defence though, he didn't exactly say to her that his sister was dying (or might have died), because he felt embarrassed saying that and he didn't exactly know how to break the news to her.
They were cool now though and Janette had explained everything to Destiny, but Destiny had felt really awful about what she had done.
She had paid Kerazin five pounds instead of the other way around, with her girls helping Kerazin out with his situation.
The only reason Israel had gone to the party in the first place was because he didn't like studying, and Destiny couldn't have blamed him.
Israel?
Study?
Never.
Plus the party was the talk of the town anyway, and Israel had absolutely hated it when he had missed an important event because everyone around him would have talked about it.
Much to his irritation.
"Fine, I guess I do owe you," Israel replied after a while, Destiny cheering at him. "But come back half past midnight or earlier, else I'm telling mum you guys lied to her."
Destiny had given him the thumbs up sign before throwing an unexpected hug at her older brother, spinning him round and round until he got dizzy.
"Whoa. Jeez. Chill. You better get to Same Difference before it's too late."
"Thanks again."
Israel had just smiled at her, waving at her as she had gone back to Esmeralda's Cadillac. They had talked to each other for ten minutes so ten minutes extra & her friends would have left to go to the nightclub without her.
Not that that was a bad thing now, but still.
No way was Destiny was missing out on Same Difference tonight!
When Destiny had gone, Israel wanted to head inside too, but didn't because Priscilla had gone to meet him first.
"Hey, mum says that you have to say Happy birthday to grandma. You know what's she's like when we miss her birthday."
"Yeah, one sec," Israel answered, switching the CCTV camera from the garage on again, which he had switched off to talk to Destiny without getting spied on or interrupted in the process. "Also, Priscilla?"
"Yeah?"
"Did Destiny tell you she's going Same Difference tonight?"
And thank God she did, because if she didn't, then Israel had just practically ruined everything as Priscilla couldn't always have kept her mouth shut about things.
Nodding vigorously, Priscilla had then told Israel that Destiny had told her that she was going to that nightclub and that she had to keep her mouth shut about it otherwise Destiny & Priscilla would have gotten in mad trouble by Denise.
"You better keep it a secret, otherwise," he did the cut throat gesture at her whilst frowning, "You understand?"
"I understand!"
"Good. Now let's go inside and wish grandma a happy birthday."
Alrighty then.
Whilst Israel & Priscilla were inside their house, Destiny and her girls in the meantime had just arrived at the Same Difference nightclub, and it had taken exactly forty five minutes to get there.
There were good news and bad news: the good news was that there wasn't really any traffic along the way, but the bad news was that.
The queue.
Was.
So.
Long.
That it wasn't even funny.
"Aw, if I had known the queue would be this long, then we honestly would have left earlier," Esmeralda had complained, her and the girls getting out of the car.
"Told you," Calista had teased, sticking her tongue out at her. "I blame Destiny for wasting everyone's time."
But obviously she was joking about it, she didn't mean that in a serious way at all.
Destiny had playfully hit her with her purse after she had done that, with Esmeralda & Calista going to get a parking ticket because Esmeralda didn't really like going places by herself.
Destiny was about to line up with her friends, but apparently there was a white chocolate fountain at the back of the queue that Valentina & Janette really wanted to check out but Destiny didn't.
'Cause nobody really knew where the fountain had been or come from.
So maybe the queue isn't that long after all, maybe these people just want some of the white chocolate fountain at the back of the queue.
But that wasn't the reason on why the queue was so long-- more people wanted to go to the nightclub itself than to drink from the fountain, so even though Destiny's theory was correct?
It wasn't 100% or entirely correct.
The fountain was at the back of the nightclub though, not on the streets or anything, that would have been pretty insane.
There was a security guard there called Zainab apparently who was watching that area, to make sure that nobody had snuck into the nightclub without a ticket.
Tickets were needed to enter, but this was unbeknownst to Destiny. Whilst her friends had gone out to do what they needed to do, she had stayed in the queue instead, a lot of people complimenting her.
Including the relatively short guy in front of her with sunglasses, trainers, jeans & a T Shirt and a tuxedo jacket.
Strange combination, but the way this guy was acting, those looked like the best and most fancy clothes the dude had.
"Whoa ho ho ho!" He said, checking Destiny out. "Look who stepped up. Don't think I've ever seen you like this before, Destiny."
"Who are you and how do you know my name?"
The guy in front of her didn't reply, just removed his sunglasses and smiled at her, Destiny absolutely shocked to find out that it was...
"Sekani?" Destiny said in shock surprise, laughing a bit. "What are you doing here? You underage."
When Sekani had heard that, he had covered her mouth before squeezing it with his hand and letting it go again.
"Shhh, girl. No one knows that here, not even the security guards. I'm tryna keep a low profile. Hence the sunglasses & everything."
Destiny couldn't help to ask the guy where Kiandre was, but so that she didn't sound too obsessed with him, despite him rejecting her, she had also asked Sekani where Kassandra was as well.
Apparently, Kiandre was at the nightclub already with his homies Trevor & Kazenosuke, but Sekani had come in late due to the white chocolate fountain at the back.
Kassandra was grounded right now so she couldn't have gone to the nightclub, and Kiandre had reluctantly snuck Sekani out.
Surprisingly for Destiny, despite the long queue, it had removed really quickly, and soon, she was nearly at the front of the line.
But she still hadn't heard from any of her friends yet, though apparently they were still at the white chocolate fountain, 'cause it was so good.
"Where your girls at?"
"Oh, they're coming in later. They said that I should save a space for them."
"You realise that's not allowed, right?"
No Destiny did not realise that.
So therefore she had to ask Sekani to clarify what he meant because Destiny was lowkey confused right now.
Apparently there was a sign about this, the sign literally saying:
Don't save spaces for anyone else, it's not fair on others. Don't push past others in the queue as well, or we'll send you home!
The sign was white, in black writing & in Comic Sans.
Terrible font choice, as apparently it had made everything sound sarcastic, but that was just the way it was.
