Reunion
A/N: Art is by me, and yes, that's the light of my life, Shisui Uchiha. He's going to start becoming relevant to your character development, because he is the biggest fragment, if not most important, of your past.

Todoroki Shouto was flummoxed.
To be fair, it's not really hard to baffle the aloof boy, as he is unfamiliar with most social cues and modern trends that he missed whilst growing up. However, Todoroki is not confused because he didn't understand something, but rather, he understood something-- specifically, a certain classmate's intention. He knew what he felt, and the sensation was even comparable to what he felt when he witnessed All Might's power overwhelming the noumu-- vulnerable.
He felt vulnerable.
Kaminari Denki was supposed to be a classmate he couldn't care less about. An unnecessary nuisance at worst; detached familiarity at best. The same can be said with Ashido Mina.
Kaminari and Ashido can fight impressively, sure, as expected of UA students-- it's not as far-fetched as it sounded. That explains how they passed the entrance exams, despite their idiocy during tests. That's the only plausible reason why their 'incompetence' was not warranted for expulsion. They just simply weren't taking their education seriously until they got their reality checks; that someone could-- will die if they don't take the hero course earnestly.
Even with their sudden personality shifts and the show of their hidden skills, it was still not enough to garner Todoroki's attention. Trauma shaped their skills, if not sharpen it, as it did him. The concept of it was uncannily familiar if not similar to Shouto. Prodigy, hah-- Why act like he wasn't one, himself?
And then Shouto's opinion of his blond classmate changed when he felt it.
The Intent.
The intent to Kill.
He had heard of the convenience store incident a few days ago, and the duo in mind were involved in it, witnessing a murder while at it. Was Kaminari's case an example of a PTSD episode Shouto had heard so much about? He's heard the term once or twice before, as it was not uncommon to be associated with his future occupation. As far as he's aware, those episodes could have you act uncharacteristically and impulsively, depending on its intensity.
Yes, that could be it. How else can he explain how unhesitatingly willing the blond would kill?
Kaminari Denki was willing to kill someone. Villain, may be, but still a person. A human being.
Todoroki still cannot fathom the concept of a hero student aiming to take a life rather than to incapacitate. The blond would've succeeded too if it weren't for Ashido intercepting to redirect Kaminari's hand away from the villain's torso in time. The electric-user looked so intimidating-- murderous, even. In a fleeting glance, Todoroki didn't see a fellow classmate, but a man on a mission; business-like professionalism; personally detached. Automatic. Acting not because he wants to, but because he has to. Not emotionally driven, but obligation driven. And he did it with unfaltering grace, as if he'd done it for years.
However, after the pinkette's intervention, Kaminari looked so lost. Confused. Maybe even afraid. Then suddenly, Shouto could see his blond peer as a reflection of what he was a long time ago.
A scared boy.
And within their class, Todoroki Shouto was the only one who witnessed everything.
To be honest, he doesn't know what to do with that information.
For now, he would only bide in his silence.
...
Bakugou Katsuki was beyond pissed.
Three days ago, he was the only 1A student, perhaps the only UA first year student, who got caught in a villain attack before USJ. It was disgraceful, humiliating, and especially of all, it was enlightening. It was a fucking reality check; a wake-up call that he wasn't as good as he thought he was. He wasn't invincible, and he had a long way to go before even thinking of usurping All Might's number one spot.
Still, he was young, hard-working, and damn talented. Who knows how much he's improved by the time he graduates? With enough training, surpassing All Might would no longer be just a pipe dream. He believes that.
But then, Dunce Face and Raccoon Eyes happened.
Two days ago, the two idiots got caught in their own villain attack, which makes three of them in total who faced villains before USJ. After their first villain encounter, suddenly, they just improved.
Fuck, 'improve' is the understatement of the year. It was a fucking leap; a sky-rocket. It's like they turned into different people after their encounter with their first villains.
Were they hiding their true skill sets like fucking Deku, or did they train like crazy within two days to be how they are now?
Because absolutely what the fuck?!
Two days were all it took for them to gain such skill gap over their past selves-- a gap comparable to the motherfucking Mariana Trench. The confidence Raccoon Eyes emanated when she took down the creepy hand bastard, right after literally burning the guy's pinky fingers with her acid quirk. Bakugou was smart enough to decipher that the villain's quirk had something to do with his fingers for her to do such a thing . She moved so smoothly; so swiftly; no hesitation.
She looked like a real Pro Hero.
Meanwhile, it's been months-- almost a year-- since the Slime Incident, and Bakugou barely progressed from his former self.
It was irritating, frustrating, disappointing-- he was fucking bitter.
Kaminari and Ashido were the ones who are steps closer to his dream in defeating All Might.
The two extras suddenly aren't just extras anymore.
And fucking hell, he will confront them about it.
Because there is absolutely no way they can improve that much in only two days.
...
Kirishima Eijirou knew Ashido Mina during his senior middle school years. He first admired her when he saw her diffuse a bullying incident to which he miserably failed at. While they weren't exactly close, they were in friendly terms, and he at least knew Mina's core personalities.
First and foremost, she's an inviting character-- an attractive social butterfly who can befriend almost anyone. She's loud, she's fun, and then...
She isn't. Not anymore.
Kirishima has villains to blame for that.
Secondly, Mina never fails to forget any face she befriends—no matter how long the time of separation is. She once recognized her kindergarten classmate she hasn't seen since she was five years old in a matter of a simple glance. She's a good friend like that.
So when she claimed that Kaminari was an old childhood friend that she didn't recognize until after a few days of classes together, it had Kirishima thinking. However, since he wasn't really close with Mina, he can't be all that sure that she can recall everyone she has talked to in a whim. She still recognized the blond, in the end, didn't she?
The redhead gave her the benefit of a doubt.
And lastly, Kirishima is sure that Ashido Mina does not have the heart to do what she did with that Shigaraki guy. Ever. Especially with her own bare hands and quirk.
Why would she choose to hurt him rather than straight-up knock the guy out like she did in the end?
Mina is soft-hearted; she wouldn't hurt anyone, unless she has to-- unless she has no other way.
Maybe Eijirou simply didn't know Mina after all.
...
Kaminari Denki was, believe it or not, speechless.
No (failed) attempts to be witty, no sarcastic comments, not even a dumb utterance like 'huh?' or 'what?'. He's just... eerily quiet, during their walk home, pondering over what occurred that felt like seconds ago.
One moment ago, he was seething at Hatake for making his body read porn during a villain attack, and the next? Kakashi almost made his body commit second degree murder. Kaminari wishes that that was the worst of it, but it wasn't, because he saw a traumatizing flashback that he's certain that wasn't his. Not his first experience, however. It was his second, and on his first time, he didn't think much of it.
The first memory appeared when Hatake newly woke up in the blond's teenage body. That day, Kaminari saw and felt the man panic.
And it wasn't the ordinary panic-attack where he hyperventilates with adrenaline running uselessly in his veins. When Kakashi panics, he panics. The man was absolutely willing to turn UA inside-out to sate his conscience regarding the whereabouts of his partner. Recovery Girl was absolutely lucky that she was absent when he first woke up, otherwise, Kakashi would've made a weapon out of the curtains somehow, and held her at 'curtain-point'.
Hatake looked so worried; feral. Desperate. And then flashback.
The first memory was of a boy Kaminari's not familiar with; half of his body crushed underneath a giant boulder. The memory became blurry afterwards, but the next thing he saw was a disturbing transplant of a red eye to a damaged socket--his damaged socket. Kaminari foolishly thought that it was simply a nightmare conjured by an old memory from watching a horror movie he doesn't remember.
When the once-unknown owner of his body calmed, Kakashi assessed the entire situation within minutes, and came to a conclusion that Kaminari's sleeping pink classmate must house the consciousness of his colleague, as he was occupying Kaminari's. He wasn't wrong.
The first thing Kaminari ever said to Hatake?
'You're nuts.'
Kakashi didn't take that well.
A voice in your head with a judgmental tone? Get outta here. Kakashi already has enough of those.
Needless to say, it became the jounin's life mission to make Kaminari miserable afterwards, and he is succeeding (Kaminari would rather cough up a lung than admit that).
The second (and hopefully last) memory, however, gave Kaminari a new perspective on Hatake Kakashi. The blond then realized that the first memory he saw was not just a nightmare.
Denki can now confirm to himself that his body is housing a traumatized murderer who experienced serious shit that would require years of therapy to get over. The boy should be afraid of Kakashi, because well, having to see those gruesome flashbacks that are, no doubt, memories would make any normal teenager scared shitless.
Kakashi skillfully killed what Kaminari thinks are ninjas, and had a girl jump in front of him with the intention to die by his hand (Kaminari found it fitting that Kakashi's original body also had a lightning quirk). It was an all-around what the fuck.
Frankly, the blond is a book-cover judge who would base personality from appearance. Kakashi should scare him after what he saw...
However, despite only seeing fragments of the man's life, Kaminari is not really fearful of the man; more of worried than scared. Kakashi is not okay, but somehow acts as though he is. He saw how human Hatake is. How he managed to get his shit together had Denki jealous.
But maybe, just maybe, Kaminari would do his best to understand Hatake Kakashi.
...
Ashido Mina trusts her counterpart.
While she already has the impression that Uchiha wasn't telling her everything, the pinkette knew enough to make her judgement. Other than being able to walk on walls, being able to make needles from paperclips and throwing said weapons with deadly precision, the woman is special in a way Mina can't describe.
Uchiha (Y/n) can be blunt at times, maybe a bit insensitive and aloof... a bit mean too, but deep, deep down, Mina just knows she's a big sweetheart if you know her well enough. She saw the way how (Y/n) cared for Kakashi; the vengeance she did to the League's leader; the emotions were heavy. And if she's not pushing her luck, Mina can say that (Y/n) cared for her too, even if it's just a little.
And maybe, if she sticks around a bit longer, Mina may just see that big heart surface.
The girl was proven right soon enough.

"Is Sasuke-teme awake yet?"
"No. The genjutsu he used on that Hawks guy was the last straw for his chakra exhaustion,"
Naruto and Sakura were sitting on a random apartment rooftop, their legs dangling carelessly by the edge of the railings, whilst keeping their unconscious teammate on the peripheries of their vision. It was about the afternoon, a few hours before sunset, as they first arrived in this world at noon with the sun ever sky high.
They've been stranded here for a few hours now.
"Ugh, I can't believe our little detour had us lose Kakashi and (Y/n)-sensei!" The blond exclaimed, throwing his head back to stare at the sky directly above him. Naruto once suggested to send a massive clone army to look for them, but Sakura worried that it might attract more of those pesky heroes or even more unwanted attention. The last thing they need was someone tailing after them in an unfamiliar environment.
Besides, Sasuke is unconscious. It would really slow them down if they're being chased, especially with their smaller structures.
"We can't really be sure if it is them, though," The medic replied back skeptically, her eyes glancing back and forth between Naruto and her current patient, Sasuke.
"We won't know 'til we see them ourselves, 'ttebayo!"
Ever so optimistic, Sakura mused to herself, before thinking of an old memory.
"Pfft, this reminds me of our chuunin exams, except you're awake with me this time," She snickered, recalling the events the first time her team stepped foot in Training Ground 44 a.k.a. the Forest of Death. It's mainly their younger looks' fault that had her recollect unpleasant memories-- same hair, height, clothes, chakra pools, and luckily? Not their experience.
"This actually brings nostalgia," Naruto absentmindedly remarked. "If we still had crushes on each other, the whole Team 7 starter pack is complete!" The blond grinned, before slightly pausing, then chuckling. "Kurama said he never had crushes that's why he's superior."
Ah right, Naruto's seal also reverted back to its untampered state, hence preventing him from using his Nine-Tailed Chakra Mode, but at least it didn't hinder their communication. Sakura lost her Strength of a Hundred Seal, as well, but perhaps she won't have much trouble recovering it due to her now disproportionate Yin chakra. Their summoning contracts were also proven to be nulled, when Sakura attempted summoning Katsuyu, but was only able to produce a puff of smoke.
It's as if they really were their younger selves; not by appearance alone, but by substance as well.
It was worrying, but at the same time, not.
Everyone they've observed in this world only had civilian habits so far, even their so-called 'heroes', albeit better trained. The highest rank they've seen so far was comparable to high chuunin. But no shinobi on sight. That, at least, put them on ease.
Chakra was non-existent, and instead, this world compensated for it through advanced technology. Sakura wonders if this could've been their world if they never had the ability to mold chakra. She's curious of this world's medical approach, honestly.
"Hey, Na--"
"Woah, Kakashi and (Y/n)-sensei are back in my range, 'ttebayo!" Forming the hand seal for his shadow clone, Naruto's doppelganger appeared right next to him, before having his clone pick Sasuke up on his back.
"Wait, what abou--" Naruto already jumped with his clone and Sasuke behind him, before Sakura could even stop him. Sighing in resignation and fondness, the pinkette made no hesitation to follow her future hokage.
~*~*~
The walk home was uncomfortably quiet, to say the least.
Kakashi was pretending to read his book, but you know him well enough that he wasn't actually reading it; he was thinking. And usually? Your partner's thoughts can be unpleasant. His thought's subject was definitely about Rin, that's for sure, due to the stunt you pulled. You wouldn't put it past Kakashi to have him blame himself all over again.
Rin's death was the catalyst for almost everything.
Obito would've returned to Konoha if she continued living.
No Kamui. Tobi wouldn't exist.
Minato and Kushina could've lived.
Naruto could have been raised by his parents.
Team Minato would be alive and well, and Kakashi would finally open himself to his team.
With Minato being hokage, the Uchiha Massacre could've been prevented; maybe even be able to arrest Shimura Danzou.
Itachi wouldn't have to play martyr, and instead, was able to be a good teacher and brother to Sasuke.
Sasuke wouldn't have joined Orochimaru and defected from Konoha; from you.
You'd still have your older brother, and you'd even have Rin as a sister-in-law too.
And Shisui...
Fuck, Shisui.
He wouldn't have to give his eye to Itachi. He wouldn't have to kill himself. And...
And if he, perhaps, still confessed later on, maybe just maybe, you would've ended up together.
A lot of things could've been different, but having the life of a shinobi, you're already as lucky as you could get.
If Rin's death was the start of Kakashi's regression, Shisui's death was yours.
Kakashi was actually handling what you did a lot better than you thought he would. Then again, he's good at repressing emotions, but you're sure that if Kakashi were to do something similar to what Shisui did, like how you did Rin, you would've had a mental breakdown. Perhaps, this may be the best case scenario for him.
After Shisui's death, you just weren't the same since then, but... you were recovering. You're healing. It just takes time.
And Team 7.
Time and Team 7-- your basic mental health needs. Kakashi may not admit it, but your team became the anchor of your lives. With Naruto's sunny disposition (like Sunshine Shisui), Sasuke's hidden affections for your dysfunctional family (you often forget that you are not looking at Shisui's eyes), and of course, Sakura's role as mediator (you learned medical ninjutsu too late toolatetoolate--).
Since they're not here, you and Kakashi can only either be occupied by each other or by your own minds. Both of you are currently falling over the latter, however...
"--sure they're here?"
"Yeah, they gotta be! I can sense them somewhere around here!"
"There's not much people here. Maybe they're inside in one of the buildings?"
"Nah, if anything, they're riiiiight--"
No way...
"Naruto? Sakura?... Sasuke?" You hesitatingly called out, before pausing your steps, as you assessed your supposed team in front of you, with Kakashi following after you. "Kakashi, are you seeing this?" Turning your head to look at your partner, you caught him already trying to release the non-existent genjutsu, muttering quiet 'Kai's repeatedly.
Yep, this is real.
"Kakashi? As in, Kakashi-sensei?!" The young Naruto inquired, with hope shining in his blue eyes. "Sakura-chan, this is it! This is them!"
"Yatta!" The Naruto clone carrying an unconscious Sasuke cheered with the original, as you and the other jounin continuously gawked at what seemed like the twelve-year-old version of the Team 7 members.
"Death through lunacy. Finally. Today's my lucky day." You heard Kakashi whisper to himself.
"How do we know you guys are not just imitating our senseis' chakra signatures?" Sakura suspiciously asked, as she eyes you and your partner with such scrutiny.
"And how do we know you're not posing as our students?" You frowned at them, slightly lowering your shades to emphasize your examining eyes.
Sakura eased her guard, as Naruto gasped in recognition.
"It is her! That's the infamous (Y/n) Frown! No one could imitate how she both looks young and old at the same time; not even a henge!" You felt your eye twitch at Naruto's unfiltered comment, as you can already hear Mina's giggling at the back of your mind.
"What was that, you brat?!"
"Well I mean, he isn't wrong--" Kakashi stopped talking and only smiled innocently when you directed your glower at him.
"Wanna finish that sentence, Hatake?!" You snarled, as the two children only grinned wider.
"Nee-chan!"
"(Y/n)-sensei!"
The young blond and pinkette tackled both you and Kakashi in a hug, your anger easily simmering to relief and content.
"Yeah, nice to see you all again too."
Mina noticed how you're suddenly like a different person.
~*~*~
And this is where all fun and shenanigans begin. Also, I'm already creating the timeline for this book's prequel. It will be published soon. Yall about to get your bodies back in two more chapters, more or less. I can finally start the chaos by then along with the harem lmao
Yes, Shisui actually plays a huge role in your life; much more than Itachi's. And yes, you're not coping well oof
No one asked, but I'll be diverting from BNHA canon soon enough. Yes, you will have your own arcs, and some BNHA arcs won't happen at all lmao.
