Enter: Uchiha and Hatake

A/N: The Naruto timeline is after the 4th Shinobi War. I know that Kakashi lost his sharingan to Madara, but for the sake of plot convenience, let's pretend he found a way to recover it lmao. Also, Tsunade is still hokage, since Kakashi is still able to use his sharingan for the village. In this fic, Sasuke has still yet to leave for his redemption; so for a while, he's still in Konohagakure.

~*~*~

When a kamui portal opened by the entrance of Konoha's hospital, all high ranking ninjas within the area were alerted by the sudden influx of strong chakra, and by protocol, they were to investigate the source. However, as quickly as the inundation of chakra appeared, it disappeared, which made the guards on-duty think that the supposed invaders quickly hid their chakra the moment they arrived.

Once the jounins reached where they believed the source of the nauseating chakra once came from, swarms of nurses have blocked their sight upon their supposed targets, which surprisingly happened to be a battered Kakashi Hatake and a bloodied (Y/n) Uchiha.

They immediately called for Tsunade and Sakura.

...

When two of Konoha's greatest medical-nins saw the state of their friends, they didn't waste time to try and alleviate the situation and lessen the fatality of the two jounins' injuries. Tsunade worked on Kakashi; Sakura worked on you.

The pinkette was subtly panicking, seeing that her admirable mentor's torso is filled with holes-- impalement, and then sudden removal. The attacker was aiming for an instant kill, and if that intended attack hadn't killed you, bleeding to death would surely do. It's a wonder how you're still alive, despite your fatal injuries. You had worse, she supposed-- your faded scars being the physical proof of that. Nevertheless, she was glad that Kakashi-sensei used his kamui on time, otherwise Sasuke would've truly been the last Uchiha.

And with Sasuke on his way to redemption, he can't lose you.

Mentally preparing herself, the current number one medic-nin easily made count of how many puncture wounds you had; checking for bruises would be her last priority, as they aren't as life-threatening.

If Sakura wasn't trained to control her unease when seeing blood, she wouldn't have examined your body for any invading nuisance that may hinder your body's healing, and straight up mended your flesh. She was better than that. You're one of the people that helped her to be better, after all. In fact, you were the first. What insult would it be to you if Sakura didn't apply your training.

But there's a reason why doctors or surgeons don't normally operate on patients who are either friends or family. Emotional sabotage is a very human mistake, and it's her first time to see family in such condition.

Picking up stray splinters swiftly from your open wounds with her tweezers, she simultaneously healed you with the familiar glow of her green chakra, making sure that you wouldn't bleed out during the process. Based on the collected wood pieces, the assaulter either had wooden weapons or they might have been a wood style user. The former seemed a lot probable, knowing that wood style users are incredibly rare, with Yamato and Orochimaru being the only current known shinobi to be capable of it.

Whoever your targets were, to damage you and Kakashi like this, must be of a high threat level.

After healing her physical injuries, Sakura thought. I'll check her chakra coils next.

...

Tsunade was somewhat relieved that Kakashi's physical wounds weren't as mortal as they seemed to be. The blood just made him look worse than he supposedly was; guessing that most of the blood came from you. Majority were bruises, some few scratches and gashes, but nothing too close to the vital organs; nothing the sannin couldn't heal.

The fifth Hokage just knew that sending her two top jounins against a rogue nin they knew little to nothing about would have brought nothing but casualties. The reason why she sent them anyway was because the female Uchiha was vehement about this, and Kakashi wanted to come with to keep an eye on the said Uchiha. Well, either way, whether the Hatake wanted to or not, she would've still ordered him to assist you. Even at the time of peace, it's best to avoid risks as much as possible.

Kami, was the Senju thankful that at the very least, you two are alive and breathing. After the war, she couldn't lose any more of her people.

But knowing the Hatake all-too-well for his famous title in the bingo book, Tsunade could make a pretty good guess of what his chakra pathway system would look like, however nothing could have prepared her for this.

"T-Tsunade-sama!"

Snapping her from her inner turmoil, Tsunade turned to look at her student-- an alarm of panic on both of their faces, as if the both of them already know what the other was thinking.

"Their... Their chakra..." The pinkette couldn't even continue what to say, because, as a matter of fact, she doesn't know what to say.

They've seen a lot of chakra-related illnesses, poisoning, and disruption in their careers as medic-nins, but the state of the two jounins proved that they haven't seen all of it.

Both your chakra systems are present, however, inactive.

Normally, this situation would be associated with a dead nin, but proven by your constant breathing and beating pulses, you and Kakashi were still alive. When in a comatose, chakra does not stop flowing-- it is, after all, what keeps the person alive. With that said...

Why aren't your and Kakashi's chakra doing just that?

Tsunade furrowed her eyebrows, her teeth sinking on her bottom lip, not knowing how to approach the situation. She would have to review what she knows about the life force within every living being, then having to come up with conclusions to know about this new discovery of chakra illness.

Whatever is causing this, it's forcing the both of you to be in a comatose state.

~*~*~

Fluttering your eyes open, you slightly squinted from the bright lights above, before adjusting your eyesight. Judging by the sight of chiffon white walls, you assumed that Kakashi must have brought the two of you back home successfully, now confined in a hospital room.

... Of course.

Nothing less to expect from the great Copycat Ninja.

Tch, if only you focused on sensing for any chakra-instilled objects or surroundings as much as you solely searched for the target, you wouldn't have to end up being impaled, and instead fought alongside your partnered jounin. You failed to look underneath the underneath, without having to see for your target in the first place.

But Kakashi did.

That's how those wooden spikes only grazed his flesh and clothing-- barely an injury for a nin who has fought in a war twice.

Kakashi Hatake-- bingo book Copycat Ninja, geniusprodigy, jounin, teacher of the most powerful squad in Konoha, former ANBU-member, supposed sixth Hokage, sharingan wielder-- is always seven steps ahead.

That is why you will always be second best.

You sighed, taking in a deep inhale afterwards. Wait... The antiseptic aroma smells... different. Either the staffs of Konoha's hospital changed brands or you're in an entirely new environment. With a nin's trust-issues, you immediately assumed the latter.

Senses sharpened, you sat up, expecting your newly-bandaged wounds to ache in protest, but surprisingly, you felt... nothing-- other than a sudden headache.

Clutching your head, you persisted to observe your surroundings, confirming to yourself that this is, indeed, not Konoha Hospital, as your hand instinctively reached for your kunai pouch.

You weren't surprised that you were stripped of your weaponry, whether you're a prisoner or actually in Konoha's hospital. However, you were surprised that you weren't restrained, your judgement coming from how you were able to move your limbs freely. That somewhat lessened your unease, giving you the option to use taijutsu if needed. Although, you weren't sure whether or not your captors placed a seal on you to suppress your chakra to leave you handicapped on the arts of ninjutsu, while making it impossible for Kakashi to pinpoint your location.

To test your chakra, you plan on performing a simple shadow clone jutsu. However, the moment you were just about to form the first hand seal, you were taken-aback by the hue of your skin.

You were so focused on checking your surroundings, you forgot to check yourself. You did the same mistake again, damn it.

'Why the fuck is my skin pink?!' You thought, clearly panic-stricken, but chose not to show the anxiety on your face.

'Waaah! Who are you?! Why can't I control my body?!'

Upon hearing a foreign female voice that you clearly do not recognize behind you, you sprung to your feet, already in a battle stance, facing where you believed the voice came from-- your body on high alert. It was then you realized you're wearing some kind of unusual clothing-- a white button up shirt, an accessory constricting its collar, a stiff, gray jacket(?) with green accents by the sleeves and collar, and a green skirt.

Deciding to ponder about your appearance later, you faced the current matter at hand.

'Where the hell did...' Your thoughts trailed off, unsure if you were just hallucinating the voice or if this was some kind of--

A genjutsu.

"Kai." You whispered, forming the ram hand seal, and for sure, you felt your chakra flare.

'Uh, what are you doing? And I asked who are you! What are you doing with my body?! Your... Our body..? Agh, I don't know! I'm so confused!'

Okay, either this genjutsu is too powerful or this isn't a genjutsu at all, you concluded to yourself, once you heard the same disembodied voice again. But then again, you don't easily come to a conclusion that it's a genjutsu if it is a genjutsu.

'Gentu-hah?' Mind now vigilant, you carefully thought of what to think next, not wanting to accidentally reveal any sort of weakness from either you or your village.

'Are you a tailed beast or a spirit sealed inside me? How can you read my thoughts?' You asked, almost growling at the intruder in your head, before checking your stomach for any craftsmanship of fuinjutsu.

'Umm, no..? I don't know what you're talking about, but I guess I don't really pay much attention in class, so that might be a code word for something. Also, this is my body..? Our body? I guess that's why? I just know this is my body originally and now we're here! Now please get out because this is really weird!'

'I... don't think I can,' Neither of your were happy to hear that answer.

Now deciding to confront your physical issue, you looked for a mirror and, when you found one, indeed, the reflection that greeted you back wasn't you. Or at least, wasn't your body.

Pink. Blindingly pink, for your taste-- from your hair to your skin; two small horns adorning the top of your head. It reminded you of your student's short tresses with the same bubblegum shade of pink.

'What... Why do you look like this?' You asked, head titling in confusion, now noticing that your sclera is pure black, with amber pupils being the contrast to your bug-like eyes. 'Were you experimented on?'

'Excuse you?! Don't question a mutant type quirk users' appearance!'

'Mutant quirk? Is that some kind of experimental chakra affinity?' You raised a brow, unsure if that's the right question to ask.

'What's that?' You're getting nowhere from this. You're just wasting time. Whoever's in your head is either clueless or playing dumb, making things up as she goes. You need to find Kakashi then return to Konohagakure and find Tsunade or Sakura to decipher whatever is happening to you... To both of you..?

Doesn't matter. What matters is just you have to get home and this can be all solved. But...

Where is home? How far away are you from home?

'Hey! Don't ignore me! You didn't answer any of my questions at all!'

'Shut up. You're loud and irritating to listen to' You snapped. Usually, you're the patient type, but due to the unfamiliar circumstance you're in, time is precious-- waiting is not an option; not without knowing what you're supposed to do next.

'That's so rude! I-- Ah! Are you a villain by any chance?!' Now, you see, during your career as a shinobi, no nin has a purpose to serve just for utter chaos and destruction. To train the body to its limits; to learn techniques from different origins; to stain their hands with the blood of others; to cut ties with the world for the sake of the goal of annihilation. Even though you've encountered ninjas who have mercilessly killed and destroyed homes, all of them had ulterior motives-- revenge, protection, power, money, peace through non-existence-- you've heard it all; but entropy on its own was a reason you've yet to hear.

A black-and-white label of a villain was a concept found hilarious by a shinobi. You almost bit down on your tongue to force down your bitter laughter, if by another time you wouldn't have to feel on-guard.

Nevertheless, ninjas can be many things, but none of their ways is being a villain; only a tragic hero at best.

'H-hey, why'd it feel like you were just about to laugh?!'

Shaking your head in amusement, you suppressed a smirk and retort.

'Just... Do me a favor and shut up. I'm serious this time. I need to concentrate' You finalized, being stern of your words, and hopefully, the voice would comply. You need the silence to focus and plan on finding Kakashi Hatake and escaping this place right after.

To do that, you'd need a temporary weapon first to attack and defend yourself with. Since the place looks like a clinic, hopefully, you can find some syringes somewhere to extract the needles from and use them as make-shift senbon needles. Small in comparison to the real ones, yes, but with your aim and accuracy, the needles are enough to inflict heavy nerve damages.

Finally walking around the room, you suddenly paused when you heard shuffling of fabric behind the closed curtains. Cautiously, you approached the white flaps of cloth, before suddenly shoving them sideways, only to reveal...

A blond brat.

Doesn't even have enough chakra to be detected, however... Something about his demeanor seemed familiar to you.

His arms under his head, an eye opened to look at you, as if to observe you. It may be quick and faint, but it didn't escape from your sharp sight on how his gold eye widened for a moment before returning back to its half-lidded gaze. You wondered what emotion that could've elicited.

"Ah, I'm assuming you finally assessed your situation and that hopefully you're calm enough to talk to. Sorry that I haven't alerted you of my presence earlier, but based on my earlier experience, I assumed that it would be best to have you figure it out on your own." The way the blond talked to you, as if he knew you for years, was unsettling, as you've never met him before in your life. However, it's the familiarity from the drawl of his voice that made you reconsider from tackling the boy down and interrogating him for answers. You already have a conclusion, you just aren't sure if it's the right one.

"Ka...Kakashi?"

"Bingo."

Kami, what is this?

~*~*~

"Just as I thought," Ino started after observing the two unconscious jounins' chakra pathway systems, the similarity of their state to her clan's infamous jutsu was too similar when that said jutsu is at work; the Mind Body Switch Technique. "Their physical energies may be present, but their spiritual energies are nowhere to be found. The spiritual part of their chakra cannot wander in the physical realm for too long. It's of its spiritual nature to latch onto something alive-- even if that something is just a shrub. If we want to wake (Y/n)-san and Kakashi-san, we have to find the other halves of their chakra."

This... This was a lot to take in. Sakura and Tsunade took in what their fellow medic-nin has informed them. How could any of the two of you perform the Mind Body Switch Technique?! It's impossible! Neither you nor Kakashi are descendants of the Yamanaka clan. Obviously, the three would have to focus on another aspect of what you two can do that can result to the same effects.

(Y/n) Uchiha-- one of the last living Uchiha. Didn't manage to inherit the sharingan, as female Uchihas have the least probability to awaken theirs. However, a master of the phoenix flames, and is an excellent genjutsu user-- proven by her titles in different bingo books.

Kakashi Hatake-- user of the Mangekyo sharingan. Can use kamui--

The kamui.

It's a possibility as it is known as a method of transportation and storage.

Sakura dreaded on telling the others of your and Kakashi's conditions, but she would have to swallow that dread, as they would need Sasuke's mastery of the sharingan if they're ever going to find your spiritual energies and reconnect them to your bodies. Hopefully, her theory is right to start the search.

When people say you learn new things everyday, one would expect small fun facts, lessons from schools, gossiping from elders, but never would you have guessed that you were required to listen to Mina Ashido's life story.

The voice in your head; that's her name: Mina Ashido. You wouldn't have cared any less, as she was of no ties to Konoha nor to your country's allies. She lived in Hokkaido with her parents; now living in an apartment to be nearer to her attended high school UA High, where you're currently in, specifically, its clinic. In a world with quirks, titles of Heroes and Villains are decided by the public-- the concept of ninjas considered to be history. The past. Mina informed you, however, that they didn't sound as 'cool' as your version of ninjas, with you only telling her of your vague basics. Not enough to suggest you were from a different dimension.

You really didn't want to care.

But for the sake of your and Kakashi's cover, it's both of your best interests to not have the both of you end up in interrogation rooms, thus leading you two to know the basics of this world and the bodies you're both possessing. Kaminari Denki, Kakashi told you to address him as, as you told him of the pinkette's name to call you.

You honestly didn't want this sort of responsibility. You were first to suggest a solution, and your suggestion was to temporarily run away and hide, until this... condition wears off, to which, of course, Denki and Mina heavily protested to. Unfortunately, Kakashi denied your suggestion, for a better reason other than ruining the two students' careers as heroes.

You two don't know the full extent of this world's authorities' quirks.

For now, you will endure and lay low. To return home to your friends and family. Safely.

"Well, if it lightens the situation a bit for you, school just started for them, so you could act like yourself and pretend that your past 'you' was just a facade. People don't usually care as long as you mind your own business." Kakashi shrugged, as he walked over a table and pulled out a disposable medical mask, before putting it on his face. "Also, this doesn't count as seeing my face, since technically, this isn't my face." The former silveret, now blond added, his signature eye smile already greeting you within moments after staying in this dimension.

"Whatever. I'm dying my hair black." You grumbled.

'Ahh! No, Uchiha-san! Absolutely not! You heard your friend, he said to stay low!'

And to be myself, You inwardly smirked. Looks like your hair can be a useful bargaining chip. If I tell you to be quiet, be quiet, or else you can say hello to your emo phase.

'Aww, that's just so cruel! It's my body..!'

Unless I get out of here and return home, for now, it's my body, and I get to act how I want with it, you finished, huffing afterwards.

As if hearing the arguments in your head, Kakashi spoke up.

"C'mon, (Y/n)-chan, give the girl a break. She's just a kid who happened to get involved with our mess," Kakashi remarked, a deceitful mercy emitting from his aura.

While sitting on the bed next to your comrade, you noticed his 'eye smirk' growing steadily. You scoffed.

"Like you're one to talk. I bet you're already thinking of getting your hands on some porn book and reading it in public with that poor boy's body."

'Woah! Woah! You wouldn't actually do that, would you?!' Kaminari panicked, as he only received Kakashi's weird chuckles as a response.

It was then Mina and Denki already came to a conclusion that these two strangers would ruin their high school lives with Hatake's and Uchiha's insufferable personalities.

An open pervert and a brooding emo.

'Our high school reputations!' They both whined in unison, as the two ninjas left, as soon as the pro hero called Recovery Girl simply dismissed them, passing their black out episodes earlier as nothing more than symptoms of exhaustion from their physical exercises earlier this morning-- enduring until their bodies gave out during modern literature class.

Once out of the school gates, Kakashi also added, as if to hit the final nail in the coffin.

"Ah, (Y/n)-chan, we should also live together. We'll pass by this kid's apartment and live at yours. It's best to stick together."

"Okay."

'OKAY?!'

Oof, I decided to move the event before the USJ arc, because I just remembered that there was a Battle Trial that's enough to showcase Kaminari's and Ashido's intelligence, strengths, and techniques.

And yes, reader has some sort of subtle inferiority complex which can only be fixed by a love interest of your choosing! Speaking of which, any more additions you want me to add to the list of love interests? Reader is at the range of her late 20s.
