Chapter Eight
Reader's POV
It was too dark, only a sliver of light coming from a door at the top of a staircase. You frantically looked around, unable to move, searching for anything that could help you. Your arms and legs were bound tightly, a gag muffling any sound you wanted to make. It was scary, to say the least.
You knew you were in your basement, the familiar musty smell and dark outlines of familiar objects told you so. You also knew you had to find a way out, or Sam and Dean would be in big trouble.
You tried moving your arms around to slip out of the rope that bound you, but it was too tight. Your arms hurt incredibly, and you wondered how that could be, as the position they were in wasn't too uncomfortable. You tried to get a glance at them in the poor light, and was surprised to see bite marks lining them, dried blood caked to your arms.
"What the hell...?" You whispered. Your voice stirred something right next to you, making you jump slightly. You tried to make out what it was, watching carefully as their face turned to face a little light that shone. You were not prepared for what you saw however, and you jumped back in fear.
It was you. Not you- you- but an imposter. They were bound in silver chains and gagged, and hadn't yet woken up completely. You furrowed your eyebrows, trying to slither away from whatever this was.
And then it hit you. It was the shifter. The silver chains and why it looked exactly like you. You wondered what it could be doing down here, tied up, when you were positive that it was the shifter that put you there. But why was it here?
You gulped, watching as this creature's eyes fluttered open. It immediately started writhing in pain, unable to scream due to the gag. You glanced away, knowing there was nothing you could do.
And then the door to the basement opened, revealing a figure at the top. It looked behind itself then descended the steps, leaving the door open. You watched in silence as it moved into a dark corner, unmoving, seeming to wait for something.
Sure enough something did happen. Not more than a few minutes later another figure slipped through the doorway, descending the steps as well. It carried a flashlight, and as it got closer you could tell it was Dean.
Dean- thank God. You'd never been so happy to see a hunter before in your life. His flashlight landed on you, blinding you temporarily before your eyes adjusted, and you tried to alert him of your presence. He made his way toward you, flipping open his knife to cut the ropes binding you together. As he got closer, however, you remembered the figure that descended earlier.
You thrashed wildly now, trying to get any noise past the gag. Dean furrowed his eyebrows as he knelt down beside you, ripping the gag from your mouth.
"____? What's wrong? Why are you down here?" He asked, firing each question in rapid succession. You ignored each of them, however, noticing the figure approaching behind him.
"Dean! Behind-" He was suddenly knocked out with a metal pipe, the figure chuckling cruelly. You choked back a sob, one of your only chances at escaping having been removed. You watched as it tied Dean up, gagging him and then replacing your gag. You struggled, but it was no use.
It picked up the flashlight, and by the ray of artificial light you could clearly see who it was.
A sight that only scared you even more.
