I woke up the sunlight blinding me. Esme rushed to me and said "Sam your back!" I hugged her and we walked downstairs to breakfast.

A boy named Cody slipped a frog under the table and muttered "get her." I pulled Esme up before the frog could reach her. I picked it up and threw it across the room "Nice try." I said. He flushed with embarrassment. Some of the littler children asked me questions but I dismissed them. Me and Esme got up and went outside. She sat under a tree with Reese who had become friends with Esme. I wanted to play a trick on her sooo bad but I didn't have a peculiarity to do it. Then I remembered someone who did. I ran to Otis who loved to play tricks. I asked him for help and he said of course. I knew Reese never had a single hair on her head out of place. "Otis, could you use your electricity powers to mess up Reese's hair?" "Of course!" He said. So we went into the tree above her and went to the tree just above her head. "Just Reese not Esme." I said. He nodded and held out his hands. I heard crackling and watched blue volts come from his hands. Suddenly the leaves on the tree sprouted into vines and before I could yell his name the vines tightened around my mouth. I reached out to shake him but the vines went around my arms and legs. Soon enough I figured out it was Livi. Just as Otis's volts were above Reese's head Livi yelled " Reese! Esme! Run!" They both dashed toward the house to tell on us. Great. My own sister is telling on me. Livi tightens the vines around Otis and says "You two are going to be in big trouble." I bite away the vines on my mouth and yell "Your an idiot if you think I would let my sister hang out with her!" She rolls her eyes and tightens the vines around my mouth again. She's 15 and has her long red hair pulled into a ponytail. Her emerald eyes sparkle in the sunlight. Miss Nightjar comes out and says "You may release them." Livi let's us break through the vines and hop down from the tree. "You two. No dinner tonight." She says firmly. I don't really care. I went hungry a bunch in the three months we were alone. She pointed to the house meaning we had to go to our rooms. We walked up the stairs and I said "I'm sorry." "It's ok this happens all the time. Plus I have a trapdoor in my room that leads to my food stash. We can get some out of there." He says. We walk to his room where he pulls out a container of fruit veggies and sandwiches. I thank him and walk to my room and shove the case under my bed. I needed to do something to Reese. Something to make her mad. I heard Miss NightJar call for me so I went to her. She was sitting in the armchair in the library. "Now, I assume you now why you are here." She said. We nodded "Good. Now you two shall not play any more tricks on Miss Tekin do you hear?" We nodded. "You are dismissed." I walked slowly out the door. "Except for you Miss Dane." I stopped dead in my tracks. I turned around very slowly. Miss Nightjar patted the seat next to her. I went and sat down. "Now Samantha" she said. Nobody ever called me by my first name. "I can realize you were provoked for this prank. Is that correct?" I nodded. "Well then. You must learn that we will not be protective of any siblings here do you understand!" I nod "Good because you do not live isolated in a bombed out house anymore. You live in my house and I do not want you ruining your sisters chance of making friends!" I nodded "You may be dismissed." "Oh, and please apologize to Miss Tekin." I walked out my head hanging. I walked out side and said "I'm sorry." Esme ran over and said "Sam!" Reese rolled her eyes and said "come on Esme lets leave her alone." But Esme refused and Reese called her stupid. Esme started crying and hugged me harder. I did nothing but hug her back. "I love you Sam." She said "I love you too." I responded.
