Alexandria P.O.V

The whole house shook due to my brothers idiotic rescue mission.  We walked into the middle of the corridor, before I could say anything I was taken from Elijah's side only to be put in front of Damon, relief came over me but also disappointment.

'For those who think they can beat me, you can't. I want the girls on the count of three or heads will roll' Elijah called out.

'1...' He counted.

Just then Elena appeared at the top of the stairs.

' Please don't hurt my friends they are just trying to protect me, no one has to get hurt.' She said as started to walk down the stairs.

'What game are you playing ?'

I didn't hear much after Elena threw a vervain grenade at Elijah.

Damon left my side seconds later to only pin Elijah to the wall with a coat rack through his heart.
Is it wrong that I felt bad ? Rose disappeared, good riddance. I looked over to see Elena in Stefan's arms.  Then I looked over to my older brother who seemed hurt that she didn't hug him. So being the best sister ever, I ran over to him and pulled him into a hug.

' Thank you Day.' I said hugging him tighter.

' I will always protect you little one' He said as kissed me on the forehead. We pulled away and looked over at Elijah. 

''Well let's get back, a lot of people are worried.'' Stefan said pulling Elena out the house. Damon grabbed a hold of my hand and led me to the door. I didn't want to leave, it felt like something was keeping me here.

'Damon, I'm going to bury the body.' I told him so I could stay.

' Why ? it's a old house in the middle of no where'. 

' He deserves to be buried Damon'. 

' No Ria, he was going to take you away from me, from Stefan.' Damon said anger in his eyes.

'Damon no one is going to take me away from you two.' I said giving him a reassuring smile.

' Fine, but get home quick, I want to annoy Stefan.' He said pulling me into another hug.

' I wouldn't miss it for the world brother'. I said pulling away and watching him walk out the door. I heard the car leave the house grounds, I sighed and walked over to Elijah. I put my hands on the stake getting ready to pull it out.

1,2,3.

I groaned as I fell on my butt. I threw the coat rack onto the ground and flipped Elijah onto his back. I studied his face, he really was handsome. After a few moments I started to notice his skin turning back to it's regular colour. My eyebrows furrowed.

' What the hell ?' 

GASP

I jumped back, Elijah looked down to see the stake removed. Then his eyes locked to mine. He looks pissed, but who wouldn't. He did just get staked in the heart, if it was me, I would be on a warpath.

' How are you alive ?' I asked curiously. He ignored me and stood up and brushed himself off.  Elijah winced every time he moved, I sighed and walked over to him.  

' What are you doing here ?' He asked in a raspy voice and it was sexy.

' I'm here because I thought you deserved to buried.' He looked in my eyes to see if I was lying, he nodded knowing I wasn't lying.

' Why ? I did try and take you and your friend away.' Elijah questioned and also winced.

' First thing Elena Gilbert is not my friend. Second thing you must of had your reasons. But I don't care, I wouldn't want to be left in a old crappy house, so why should you.' I stated.

' Well thank you for your consideration.' He said wincing even more when he said it.

' Elijah you must have some bullets still in you, I need to get them out.' I said pointing to the stairs. He looked at me like I was crazy,I sighed and grabbed his wrist and sat him on the stairs. 

' Shirt.' I told him which earned me an eyebrow raise.

'' Seriously ?'' 

'Elijah you obviously have some wood stuck in your body. Now you either let me take it out or I could walk out that door and leave you to deal with it yourself.' He nodded and started to unbutton his shirt, not fully taking it off but enough to see if there was wood stuck some where. I moved closer and crouched in front of him trying not to drool over his sculptured features, I gulped in which he smirked.

' You ready ?' I asked him, he sighed.

' Yes.'I held out my other hand so he could squeeze through the pain. He took it reluctantly. I took a deep breath and pushed my hand through his skin. He winced and squeezed my hand. After a five minutes, I managed to get the bullets out. I pulled my hand out of his and stood up.

' Thank you.' He said buttoning up his shirt.

' Your welcome'. We stood there awkwardly for a minute.

' Well I must be going Elijah, my brothers are probably wondering where I am.' I said finally breaking the silence. He nodded and walked closer to me and looked me in the eyes.

' You will not remember this, you only stayed back to bury my body in which you did.' Elijah said, was  he trying to compel me.

' But I didn't.' He looked at me, shocked that he couldn't compel me.

' How is it that you can not be compelled by an original ?'

'Wait your an original as in the first vampires to ever be created, I thought they were just horror stories.'

' Yes I am an original and no they are not horror stories.'  He said looking at me amused.

' Why would you try and make me forget saving you ?' He sighed, regret in his eyes.

' Because my dear Alexandria, no one can know that I didn't die. If they did my plan will not work.' When he said my name, my dead heart skipped a beat.

' What plan ?'

' Just a plan that involves the doppleganger.'

'Doesn't it always involve the doppleganger.' I muttered under my breath, Elijah chuckled.

' So now what ?' I asked him.

' I'm going to have to bring you along so you can't tell anyone.'

' Elijah I get were your coming from I really do but I can't leave my brothers. I promise I won't tell anyone and I always keep my promises.' Elijah features  turned from emotionless to admiration.

''Fine, but if your word is broken, I won't hesitate to kill you'. I nodded at his threat.

' Good bye Elijah.' I said and sped out of the house and back to  Mystic Falls.

Elijah P.O.V

Alexandria Salvatore. Who was this girl ? She seemed like a mystery that know one can solve. A beautiful mystery. In my 1000 years, I have never met a girl like her, Alexandria intrigues me. She couldn't be compelled and she didn't have vervain on her and she never showed fear,I admire that.
When I first saw her, She looked like an angel in her black laced dress and her honey combed hair cascading down her back but an angel can be the devil in disguise. I can't be distracted, my goal is to protect or kill the doppleganger before Niklaus get's to her. I sped out the house and into the woods, only to have Alexandria on my mind.
