''There was an irregularity in her chakra flow.'' Daichi spoke as he picked up his pace. ''Her chakra sensed familiar, but I had never seen her face before. She was using genjutsu to keep her real face hidden.''

Sasuke now understood why Daichi thought this woman was the one who had caused their family distress. She used genjutsu to keep living in Konoha undetected while basically hunting the Uchiha triplets. She slipped poison in Izuna's drink, stabbed Yuuji, and reported Kaira to the Konoha authorities, all while wearing different faces. Suki nearly drank poison too, but was saved thanks to Kiba.

But things didn't go according to plan and Kaira fled and Yuuji survived. Several attempts to kill Yuuji followed, but were unsuccessful. The culprit did not know Kaira's location, at least not back then, so couldn't help the police find her. That is why she focused on ending Yuuji's life so much, so that Kaira's innocence could never be proven. She just sent summonings, and since there was no telling who these summonings belonged to, there was also no telling who was behind these murder attempts. The police assumed Kaira, since she was behind the first one. Her fingerprints were on the knife that was found piercing Yuuji's abdomen after all. But the police couldn't draw any conclusions. After all, there was no clear evidence that the female Uchiha was behind the other attacks as well.

Now that Yuuji had woken up, Kaira's innocence could be proven. This means that the woman's plan had failed, so instead of having the police take care of Kaira, she had to end it herself.

That was why she was in such a hurry to leave the village.

It was just a theory, but it made sense. It was logical.

Daichi had informed Kaira of Yuuji's situation, so she could already be making her way back to the village. If this woman was truly after Kaira, they could run into each other in the forest, or meet inside the hideout. But with other people like Orochimaru and Suigetsu in there, Sasuke doubted that she'd actually rush inside to confront Kaira.

Kaira was not exactly weak, but the transplantation had left her vulnerable.  She hadn't trained properly for years either. And this woman was working with poison, so who knew what kind of tricks she would use to use this poison on Kaira?

Daichi watched his father as he pondered. He had never seen him so serious before. Should he feel bad about the fact that seeing him that way made him not only scared, because it meant they were in a dire situation, but also because it made him feel happy, because it probably meant that he cared?

To see that, it relieved him.

Kaira breathed shakily as her Susanoo formed a protective shield over her. Her back was met with the ground, several broken twigs poking into her skin.

On top of her Susanoo lay the woman, a blade in her shaking hand as she tried to pierce the avatar made of the Uchiha's chakra.

A second later and it would have ended differently. Kaira realized that, but didn't regret activating the Sharingan. It was the right choice. Her eyes and head hurt, but it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be.

When the woman attempted to use genjutsu on her, Kaira frowned. Possessing the Sharingan basically rendered her largely invulnerable to genjutsu, but the attacker did not seem to know that about the special eye.

Wanting to give her a taste of a real genjutsu, Kaira stared deep into her eyes and put her under the influence of a sensory illusion, intending to make her experience pain she would not soon forget. The woman rolled off the Susanoo onto the ground.

The Susanoo disappeared when another pain shot through Kaira's eyes, forcing her to deactivate the Sharingan.

The Uchiha lay there for a few seconds, catching her breath, wondering what to do with the woman. Take her with her to Konoha? Leave her here and have someone pick her up? She still even had no idea who she was or what she wanted from her. 

Kaira slowly stood up, rubbing the leaves and dirt from her clothes as she did so. It was then that she realized her genjutsu had been broken. Shocked and with wide eyes, she looked at the woman. Blood was dripping from her hand as her green eyes glared right into Kaira's dark ones.

She had hurt herself in order to escape from the genjutsu.

Kaira felt stupid for not taking any weapons with her when she left the hideout, but then she didn't think she'd need them. Right now she wasn't only unarmed, but genjutsu was likely not effective on this woman as she managed to escape one of her strongest illusions, her Sharingan was temporarily deactivated and using fire release techniques would burn down the forest.

She could only rely on taijutsu now.
