As y'all may know (or don't know, you'll know now), I read a lot of Teenfic. In Teen fic there's a common thread which is slut-shaming. Also in real-life is there a common thread called slut-shaming, but I'll get to that later on. 

In high-shool stories, we are usually introduced to the main antagonist, a preppy cheerleader, who, as soon as her name is given, is introduced to the reader as the school slut. 

Me: Who's that? 

Whiny MC: Oh...her. *snorts* *rolls eyes* *adjusts glasses* That's Amanda, she's the head cheerleader and she's the biggest slut in scho—

Me: 

Take your judgemental, hypoctrical ass out of here. You'll be on the bad boy's dick in ten chapters anyway so check yourself before you Shrek yourself.  

Despite being such a small, four-letter word, the meaning behind the derogatory term slut  is appalling. A slut is a girl that:

1. Has casual sex.

2. Wears tight or "revealing" clothing. 

3. Engages in sexual activity outside a relationship throughout the duration of said relationship.

4. Has multiple sexual partners.

The question is: what's the problem with being a slut?

 I went on Urban Dictionary and looked up the definition of the word "slut":

"A woman with the morals of a man."

"Someone who provides a very needed service for the community and sleeps with everyone, even the guy that has no shot at getting laid and everyone knows it. She will give him a sympathy fuck either because someone asked her to or she just has to fuck everyone she knows. These are great people, and without them sex crimes would definitly increase. I wasn't left speechless, because I knew what to expect, but I was revolted anyway. Look at those double-standards—a woman with the morals of a man. A man who has sex with lots of women is called a "player", is highly desirable, and instead of getting stoned or shunned, receives a pat on the back. 

A woman who behaves the exact same way aka fucks a lot of men, is deemed a slut, a whore, a prostitute (because being a sex-worker makes you scum?). 

Boys will be boys, but girls will be sluts. 

Society has taught us that in order for a woman to be desirable she has to be like this:

First of all, this is the 21st century. A woman can do whatever the FUCK she wants and shouldn't get trashed for it. What's it to you if she likes to engage in orgies on Friday nights? It's none of your goddamn business. What's it to you if she likes to wear short skirts and tank tops? It's none of your goddamn business. It's also not your place to talk shit. 

Calling a girl a slut as a way to demean her is one of the worst things you can do. You're basically putting her self-worth on the same level of an object.

It's like a girl that enjoys having sex is considered to be used goods. 

Openly express your sexuality, and you're a slut.

Don't openly express your sexuality, and you're a prude.

Wear short skirts and tank tops, and you're a slut.

Wear long-sleeved shirts and knee-length skirts, and you're a prude.

Get drunk and you're a slut.

Don't drink and you're a prude. 

Have sex on the first date, and you're a slut.

Don't have sex on the first date, and you're a prude. 

If you wear makeup, you're a slut.

If you don't wear makeup, you're a prude. 

If you like to drink Peach iced tea, you're a slut.

If you don't like to drink Peach iced tea, you're a prude. 

Use the dog/flower filter on Snapchat and you're a slut.

Use any other filter, and you're a prude.

What I find absolutely hilarious is the fact that everywhere you look, you're constantly showed images, videos, advertisements of women expressing their sexuality. Woman have to be that perfect balance between "hot" and "sexy" to be desirable for men, but if you top the scale too much on either side, you're in danger of getting a label smacked to your forehead and getting sent off to the slaughterhouse. 

You know what I got to say to that? Fuck you. We can do whatever the fuck we want and we shouldn't have to answer to you. Nevertheless, slut-shaming is a REAL ISSUE in our society, namely in the age of social media, where any moron can create a fake account and anonymously shame women. 

Anyone remember that stort about the hacker who leaked all those racy celebrity pics onto the Internet?

Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Amber Heard, Erin Heatherton, Kirsten Dunst, Kaley Cuoco, and on and on and on and on, all had their nudes leaked, and somehow, it's THEIR fault.

Because they shouldn't have been taking nude pics in the first place.

Mhm, last time I checked, people don't take nudes so that 14-year-old boys can jerk off in their mother's basement. 

Then I can go into that whole thing about how when a woman gets sexually assaulted, people start going into her sexual history, as if the amount of partners she had before automatically rationalises the crime and protects the assaulter.

Just stahp. 

Imma stop right there, because I don't want to pop any more pills for my blood pressure.

I'm going to end this rant with this:

If you're one of those people that slut-shame, 

If you're a guy: you're jelly that she won't give it to you. 

If you're a girl: you're jelly that you aren't getting any action.

To everyone: mind your own damn business. 

If your friend is promiscuous: 

a) Remind them to have safe sex so they don't catch a baddie/ don't get pregnant. 

b) Make sure the guy/girl they're having sex with doesn't have a baddie. 

c) Make sure she's happy with herself. 

d)Make sure she's safe. 

e) Annoy her until she tells you stories.

For the girls who've had sex and are afraid that they'll never find a man, consider this:

If he's looking for virgins, he's probably a Satanist and wants to sacrifice you to the Dark Overlord. 

For the girls who place the blame on the 'other girl' your boyfriend is seeing, consider this:

Your boyfriend is just as much to blame as that 'slut'.
