I've waited for quite a long time to write this book, and I am delighted that I've finally had the motivation to start writing it. I'm writing another book at the moment (Dracula) which is an ongoing series, but because I could not wait any longer to write this book, I will be writing both at the same time, which may result in both of them taking quite a while to update.

I got the idea to write this book a couple of years ago, actually. I learned about the Salem witch trials when I was younger, and they fascinated me so much. A couple of years ago, I realized I really wanted to write a book surrounding the Salem witch trials. Witches also really fascinate me, too, and I wanted to write a book about witches. There's something about this period of time in history that interests me, and I really wanted to write a book about it. If you don't know what the Salem witch trials are, here is some information that you should know about them: 

The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. The infamous Salem witch trials began during the spring of 1692, after a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. As a wave of hysteria spread throughout colonial Massachusetts, a special court convened in Salem to hear the cases; the first convicted witch, Bridget Bishop, was hanged that June. Eighteen others followed Bishop to Salem's Gallows Hill, while some 150 more men, women and children were accused over the next several months. By September 1692, the hysteria had begun to abate and public opinion turned against the trials. Though the Massachusetts General Court later annulled guilty verdicts against accused witches and granted indemnities to their families, bitterness lingered in the community, and the painful legacy of the Salem witch trials would endure for centuries.
