Normal pov
The next day came, and Sakura was enjoying her walk through the crowds with Zuko and Iroh. It's been awhile since she was in such a busy street, it made her smile as the sound of people echoed in her ears. Zuko on the other hand was not so fond to walk through the crowds, but with Sakura there he didn't complain. He had realized last night that he had formed feelings for her, but he kept it to himself since he was afraid that she doesn't feel the same. As they were walking peacefully through the crowds, Iroh had appeared next to them with a pot full of flowers, making Sakura raise a confused eyebrow while Zuko glared at him.
"Just thought to make our place look nice, in case someone brings home a lady friend~! Though, I guess we already have one~."
Zuko turned red and began to walk faster, mumbling something under his breath that even Sakura couldn't here what he was saying. Though she giggled at Zuko's embarrassment, but did blushed a little at Iroh's speech. Iroh then mentioned he had gotten them a job, and after a few more minutes, when finding out what kind of job it was, Sakura giggled historically while Zuko looked absolutely pissed. Right now all three of them were standing in a tea shop and was wearing aprons, well Iroh was actually struggling to tie his strings behind his back. Their new manager stood in front of them with a blank expression for a few seconds, but then he spoke up.
"Well you three sort of look like tea servers, mostly the girl though, how do you feel?"
"I feel ridiculous."
"Maa, I feel fine."
"... Uhhh does this comes to a larger size?"
"I actually have some extra strings at the back, have some tea while you wait."
With that their manager poured them some tea and gave the cups, then he left them to find Iroh some strings for his apron. Iroh smiled and begin to drink his tea, but then made a disgust face before pulling the cup back and glared at it.
"This is nothing but hot leave juice!"
"... Uncle, that's what all tea is."
Iroh had gaped at his nephew while Sakura rolled her eyes in amusement, but then giggled as Iroh began to complain how horrible a family member can say something bad about tea. Iroh grabbed the kettle and walked straight towards the window while he declared that there will be changes before throwing the liquid out. Just the corner of her eye, Sakura saw that someone was hiding by the window, before disappearing as Iroh had thrown out the tea. She narrowed her eyes, but said nothing as their manager came back with a extra string.
...
"Please come again soon, we were grateful to have you here."
Sakura smiled cheerfully before bowing at her customer, and said customer was smiling before exiting the shop. It was the second day of their job, and the manager was quite pleased by her politeness, as well as Iroh's tea he had made. He was still uncertain about Zuko, since the evidence on his face showed that he wasn't very fond of talking and fake smiling at the customers. But as long as they bring him money, he guess that it was okay, though he was more than happy when he noticed customers mostly comes to see Sakura because of her beauty, unusual pink hair and kindness.
"Sakura how can you stand these people, especially when they're being rude."
"I just suck it up, just being grateful to actually have something either than sleeping or begging like a dog in the streets."
Zuko shivered as he recalled a memory when he and Iroh, well actually just Iroh, begging for some money so that they can continue their travels. He was even humiliated when a stranger dared his uncle to dance for a piece of gold coin that made him snap and went after the guy when it was night. Taking a deep breath, Zuko sighed out heavily and agreed to her, he really should be grateful for not living in the streets like the rest of the poor.
' Sakura, I wish that I was outgoing like you.'
Zuko had then blushed, feeling his heart beating fast, wondering how he ended up falling for her, and when it happen. Unknown to him, Sakura was throwing glances at him for a few seconds, only turning back to her task while blushing as well. Sakura had also formed feelings for him, but didn't know if he felt the same, but had a feeling that she must try out her luck. Yeah sure, he was the Avatar's enemy, the very team she had shown kindness and courageous, the same team her sister joined to teach Aang earth bending. But she can change him, and she will show the differences between his father and herself. Iroh was watching the whole thing, and grinned as an idea came to his mind, though he pretended not to notice as each one of them served every customers.
"Miss Sakura."
"Hm?"
Sakura turned her attention to her boss as he called her out, before excusing herself and approached the manager. She stood up straight, how she always did back at her original home dimension after starting or completing a mission. The manager had found it very odd, but he only shrugged it off and explained.
"I want you to do some errands for me, I was going to leave you three in charge while I'm gone, but something came up. So can you do it?"
"Yes sir, tell me what I must do."
' She really is odd.'
' It's like doing a D-rank mission, Spirits how surprising I actually miss them.'
Sakura smiled a bit at the memory, she misses the old days with her friends, her team, and her family, it was rather heart broken. Though she quickly dismissed her thoughts and took the paper her manager give. As she opened it, and had read it over, Sakura immediately send a blank expression that made his manager smiled.
"Sir, these will take until nightfall."
"Yeah, I can't really leave the shop, so please, will you do it?"
"... Well... I guess it's fine, I was planning on touring myself to see the rest of the city."
"Excellent! See you tonight then, believe me it will be worth your time."
Sakura sighed but nodded her head before letting Zuko and Iroh know that she's heading out and will be back tonight. Iroh only smiled but Zuko looked like he's going to die without her. She only shook her head and headed out, the her guard was up the second she felt that someone was following her, and she knew who it was.
' What are you up to Jet?'
...
Sakura pov
I was really started to get annoyed by the fact that Jet won't stop following me, and keep trying to "keep out of sight" from me. It's been 2 hours and the guy hadn't confronted me yet, which cause me to pop a few more veins that's going to cause me to lose a few brain cells out of pure anger and annoyance. I swear if Jet keeps following me for the next hour, I'm whooping his ass. Though my patience didn't last long after 15 minutes, I snapped, and turned around to yell.
"Jet I know that you're following me! Knock it off and come out this instant!"
It was quiet for a minute, and people that had walked in the pathway had stopped and looked at me in surprise at my outburst. Though I ignored them and stared at the direction where Jet is hiding, making me ball my fist and gritted my teeth in anger. Before I could burst out again to threat him if he doesn't come, Jet made himself presence by walking pass the wall he had been hiding behind. I crossed my arms and tap my foot on the floor while giving him a pissed off look, though he was unfazed by it.
"Mind explaining me why you were following me for the last two ours and 15 minutes?"
"... You knew I was following that long?"
I glared at Jet while he looked surprised, well I can understand why he was, but on the other hand I did told him last time that I'm no ordinary earthbender, though I never went into details. So far people are not used to things that are the complete opposite of what they had grown up. I mean, me for example, I don't erathbend a lot, I have unnatural pink hair that is not supposed to exist for a earthbender, heck not even in this world. And of course my fighting skill, not suited for an earthbender, and lastly I can heal, became a doctor by a very young age. How funny it would be if the other gang were in this world as well. Shaking my head again back to reality, I shot another glare at Jet as I spoke up.
"Yes I knew you were stalking me, and let me tell you something, not a fan of being stalked, that pisses me off to no end. So you better have a reason for your action, otherwise I'll whoop your ass big time. And make it quick, I don't want to be late."
"... Fine, I'll get straight to the point then. Sakura, those people you are traveling with. Their Fire Nations."
I tensed up a bit, but of course I knew he knows, no thanks to Iroh for fire bending his tea, he could at least waited until we were in the city. But there's no use being angry at again, we all make mistakes, but I won't make another mistake again.
"Jet, what in the name of the Spirits are you talking about? They are not Fire Nations, were on earth did you came up with that idea?"
"Sakura I saw that old guy warm up his tea! They are playing you!"
"... What makes you think they are playing me? Jet I know them for awhile now, they really don't have a gift of hiding things, I can easily read people like a open book. You must have been delusioning or something, I saw nothing."
"Don't you think it's odd that his tea went from cold to warm!?"
I sighed heavily as my annoyance began to grew and pinched the bridge of my nose, Jet is quite persistent, he's definitely not going to back down. So the only way to fix this is by threatening him.
"Jet I swear if you don't let this childish delusional nonsense go, and leave us alone, I'm calling the officers, or maybe the Dai Lee's for fake gossiping and assault."
Jet's eyes winded while I glared at him, but of course I was only bluffing, I wouldn't really do it, I only said it to scare him to get us both out of trouble! Letting out a sigh, I placed my hand on my face viciously and shook it, though picked through the fingers as I stared at him for a few seconds before speaking.
"Listen Jet, you really are a nicest guy who I have ever met, but this, what you're doing right now, is getting out of hand. You said it yourself that you wanted a second chance of life. But the way you're acting right now is ruining it. Just please Jet, for both our sake, let this childish nonsense go, begin your new life here peacefully, and leave us alone. We've done nothing wrong, and besides, your teammates are probably worries where you are."
With that I turned around and begin to walk away, and thankfully, Jet was not following me at all. Though begin to wonder and doubting if Jet will listen. Right now, I was having this very bad feeling that something is going to happen.
...
Finally! I have finished this chapter! Hope you all enjoyed it!
