Day 7: [Sayaka's Birthday/Free Day]

Sayaka sat on her bed, looking at both the pregnancy test and the paper with the results in both her hands, her mouth slightly agape.

"I'm pregnant..." She whispered, a slight smile growing.

It took almost 2 years, but it finally happened. They had always talked about having a family, and while they weren't really trying, they weren't preventing it either. But after 2 years, it worked. She was finally pregnant.

The bluenette squealed and fell back on the bed, kicking her feet in excitement. She was pregnant! Pregnant with their first baby!

Their first - Shuichi. She has to tell Shuichi, but how? It had to be special, like those shows on TV or what you read about in stories.

Looking up at the ceiling, she began to think. Her husband had his residency these days and didn't get a lot of time outside of leaving and coming home. He always had to leave early in the morning, so he wouldn't have time to properly react. He was tired as soon as he got home and would be too out of it once he arrived. So when could she tell him? And how?

As she thought through the day, it hit her. With a smile, the bluenette got up and grabbed the pen and notepad she kept in her bedside table, writing down her plan in as much detail as she could. It was going to be perfect.

It had to be tomorrow. He was finishing his residency and it would also be her birthday. Shuichi would definitely agree to it if she did it tomorrow, he wouldn't pass up the opportunity.

Yeah, it was her birthday, but it would be a perfect surprise for both of them.

The front door opened just as she finished writing it all down. Quickly, Sayaka grabbed the test and paper, putting everything in her top drawer. Shuichi would be tired, so she could continue her planning once he was asleep.

"Sayaka, angel, I'm home!" The med graduate called out, taking his shoes off at the door. After a moment, his wife came out of their bedroom and hurried over, hugging him tightly. "Woah, careful!" He was surprised, but smiled a little and hugged her back, kissing her head.

"How was your day?" "Oh, it was okay, just finishing up my training. I'll finally be done tomorrow, then I'll officially be a doctor." Sayaka pulled back and smiled brightly, jumping up and giving him a peck on the lips, which her husband returned.

"Hey, I was thinking, maybe we could go to lunch tomorrow? To celebrate the end of your training, and since it's my birthday." The bluenet's smile widened and he picked her up bridal style, spinning around with her as she held on tight, squealing. "That's right, it's my sweet angel's birthday tomorrow!" He gave her a big kiss on the cheek before nuzzling her. "I don't mind a lunch date. It sounds perfect." "Great, I'll get the reservation at Leonardo's tonight before they close. You just make sure you're able to come to lunch with me."

Shuichi nodded and gave her one last kiss on the cheek before setting her back on her feet. "I guess I should get to bed soon, don't want to be tired on my last day." "Alright, but let me make you a quick salad for dinner, okay? I'm sure you're hungry." "Oh fine, but I'm at least changing first."

The male gave her another kiss before walking down the hall to their bedroom, leaving the bluenette there, a smile on her face as she rubbed her belly. "You're gonna be so happy, Shushu..." She whispered, giggling before going into the kitchen to start on their salad.

"This was amazing, dear. Thank you for this." Shuichi smiled as he wiped his mouth. The female across nodded, a wide smile on her face. "Of course, my love. It is my birthday, and your last day of training."

The med graduate smiled, drinking from his tea before calling for a waiter. "Wait, Shuichi. How about some desert? It is my birthday." "Hm. Well, I do have some more time. Alright." Sayaka's smile widened as Shuichi was able to call over a waiter, the surprise coming closer and closer.

"Hi, how may I help you two?" "Hello, could we get-" "We'll have the chocolate cake, please." "Yes ma'am, coming up." The waiter walked away, winking to her as he made his way to the kitchen. "Aww, I wanted to try their strawberry cheesecake. But it is your birthday." "I'm sorry, baby. We can get some next time, alright?" She took his hand and kissed the back of it, the male's frown immediately turning into a smile.

The two had some small talk about their future since Shuichi would finally be becoming a doctor, meaning more hectic scheduling and less sleep for the male. "But I will try to make enough time to spend time with you. And our future babies." Shuichi smiled, rubbing the back of her hand. "Yeah. Our future babies, my love."

From behind Shuichi, Sayaka saw the waiter coming back with the cake, her heart beginning to beat faster. "You know, speaking of children...I have something to tell you." "Hm? What is it?"

At that moment, the waiter arrived, two plates of cake. The two separated their hands as he set them down in front of them. "Here you are, enjoy." "Thank you, sir." Shuichi nodded to the waiter and looked to the cake, ready to dig in, when he noticed there was no cake, but some wording with chocolate on the plate.

"Surprise! You're going to be a daddy!"

Shuichi's eyes widened a little, before noticing a pregnancy test in a plastic bag above the wording. He wordlessly picked it up and saw the blue cross on the small screen. A positive pregnancy test.

"Are...Are you serious?" He looked up to his wife, who had a wide smile on her face. She nodded and took a piece of paper out of her pocket, handing it over to him. "I took that test a few days ago, so I went to the doctor yesterday. They confirmed it. We're pregnant."

The bluenet scanned the paper, beginning to tear up as he read the summary of the appointment, finally crying when he read that she was positively pregnant. "Oh, Sayaka..." He got up and went over to her side, pulling her out of her chair and kissing her deeply. The bluenette giggled and kissed back eagerly, wrapping her arms around his neck.

The people around them applauded as they kissed, congratulations coming from all around, from the patrons to the staff.

After a few minutes, they finally pulled away and looked into each other's eyes, Sayaka taking Shuichi's face in his and wiping his tears. "Oh, Shuichi, I didn't mean to make you cry." "It's okay...I'm just so happy...I finally get to have a family with the love of my life." They kissed once again, this time it was shorter, before pulling away and hugging each other.

"Happy birthday, angel. Thank you for this beautiful miracle." "Thank you, Shushu. I love you so much." "I love you too."

They continued hugging for a little longer before the bluenet pulled away a little. "Wait, does this mean I can get the strawberry cheesecake?" The bluenet asked. His wife giggled and nodded. "Yes, you can, unless you want to share my cake." "No, I'd like the cheesecake please."

Sayaka giggled and pecked her husband's lips before sitting back down and calling a waiter over to get a strawberry cheesecake. They happily ate as they began talking about plans for the nursery and doctor visits.

They were having a baby together, the first of hopefully many, and they couldn't wait to see what was in store for their family.
