I think this AU is absolutely adorable, so I'm gonna write about it.

Cat AU

Third Person Perspective

Cats are known as lazy and calm animals with a usual want of to do nothing but sleep. 

But not for a certain purple kitty. Kokichi was his name, a name fitting an energetic, sneeky, and fluffy animal such as himself. He was very smart and self aware, aware enough to understand that he was a creature that humans find adorable and hard to say no to. So, being the sly cat he is, Kokichi would often use this to his advantage. He would lure in a human victim with his cuteness, then use that same ability to get what he wanted like snuggles, pets, and more food. He would even go so far as to convince his human so purchase him a new toy or scratching post. People just couldn't resist his fluffy, but pointed, purple fur and sparkling violet eyes.

He was wild, and loved to run around and cause mischief. He loved going on walks and playing at the pet 'playground' at the park while messing with other cats and scaring dogs. Because he often manipulated his underestimated human, he would get put up for adoption numerous times during his 'nine lives.' But despite that, Kokichi has always wanted someone who would love and care about him.

The purple kitty was currently messing with other cats at the pet store, trying to pass his time in the boring shopping place. It was playtime, so that ment being taken out of his tiny space and being placed in a slightly bigger one with more fluffy victims to tease. 

Using the speaking language that sounds like a bunch of 'meow's to humans, Kokichi teased and made fun of other cats, while the keepers responsible for keeping an eye of the cats, was trying to get him to stop pouncing and clawing at the other balls of fluff we have as pets. 

That was until he noticed a human walk up to the fenced play pen and eyed him and the other kitties with a big smile. The woman had blonde hair with silver hair pins. Her outfit was pink and a light lavander color with a skirt and white backpack. She looks gullible, Kokichi thought has he looked back at her. (In case you didn't know, this is Kaede. I'm not a big fan of her, but having her be the human in this story felt fitting.)

She looked at the selection of kitties with a big smile and sparkles in her eyes, "Aww! You're all so adorable!!" The woman squealed.

She reached her hand into the play pen of cats, and a few came over to lick, snuggle, and paw at her hand and fingers. With her other hand, she placed it in a sort of thinking position on her chin and began to softly hum while looking at all the kitties.

"Hmm...Which one of you would be a good friend for Shuichi...?" She thought out loud.

Kokichi took the opportunity to use his cuteness to woo the human. He pranced up to the girl's hand that was inside the play pen and licked one of her fingers. He rubbed his head on girl's knuckles and purred to get her attention. His plan worked as the woman focused her purple eyes on the purple furred cat and visibly awed. She brushed her hand over the kitty and he purred once more. Kokichi flashed his violet sparkly eyes at her and she squealed at his cuteness.

"That one's a little piece of shit." The girl turned her eyes to a woman's voice and saw an annoyed and irritated look on a young woman's face who was sitting in a chair next to the kitten's play pen. She had wild hair with goggles in them, and she wore an employ's uniform. 

"What do you mean?" The girl who was petting Kokichi asked.

"That cat is nothing but an annoying rat! He always causes trouble! He's always so high-per and has been put up for adoption many times here, meaning he's a piece of shit nobody wants!" The employee rudely informed.

Kokichi glared at her and let out a small growl indicating he was mad. That woman was ruining his chances, how could he not be!? The nice looking girl looked back at Kokichi, seeming to be trying to detect any bad things about the purple cat. Kokichi snuggled against her hand again and purred, trying to convince her otherwise. The girl petted his head and pulled him into her arms. She turned to the girl on the chair and simply smiled.

"I'm sure he isn't THAT bad. He just needs a little love is all!" She spoke.

The other girl just snickered and smirked, "Ah-haha! Good fuckin' luck! You must be some crazy cat lady chick to get that rat!" She laughed.

"I'll have you know that I, Kaede Akamatsu, will take full responsibility into caring for this adorable cat! Just you watch!"

The girl named Kaede took Kokichi to the animal forms to fill them out. (I don't know how to adopt a pet at a pet store.) She got to the name line and looked at Kokichi, almost as if expecting the cat took tell her his name. She looked at the girl who was sitting in the chair.

"Does he already have a name?" Kaede asked.

The girl turned her attention from the playing cats to her, "Yeah, apparently that fucker responds to the name, 'Kokichi.'"

Kaede smiled and wrote the name down. After filling out the proper paper work, she walked around the store with the purple cat in her arms. She grabbed some cat food, a toy, treats, and printed a collar with Kokichi's name on it at the collar machine. She walked up to one of the cashiers and placed her items. 

The cashier greeted her kindly, "Hello ma'am." 

"Hello...." Kaede looked at the cashier's name tag "....Rantaro."

Rantaro made small talk with Kaede as he scanned her items, (excluding Kokichi,) and smiled at her, "That'll be 56.98." 

Kaede handed him the money, then Rantaro finished the transaction by giving Kaede her change and a receipt.

"Have a nice day!" He waved.

"You too! It was nice to meet you!"

Kaede then placed Kokichi in the passenger seat of her car and politely ordered him to stay there while she drove. After about 10 minutes they arrived at Kaede house. She scooped Kokichi up into her arm while holding her purchased items in the other. Once she opened the door to her humble abode, she set down the cat food and toys.

"Shuichi! I'm home!" Kaede called out.

After about a couple seconds a dark blue furred cat walked out from behind a corner and approached her. 'Shuichi,' had soft looking fur with a brighter color of blue stripes were on the back of his neck and on his hind legs and tail. He had a small tufted of fur on the top of his head that curved and stuck upwards. He had beautiful golden eyes and his cat eyelashes were thicker than normal male cat eyelashes were. Kokichi's fluffy cheeks turned a small shade of pink.

"Hey Shuichi!" Kaede greeted her cat.

"Sorry I was gone for so long, but I got you a friend!" She exclaimed and placed Kokichi down infront of him.

Shuichi looked at Kokichi before staring back at his human, titling his head in a sort of questioning manor.

"You looked kind of lonely so I thought you could use a friend! His name is Kokichi." Kaede commented.

Shuichi looked back at Kokichi, "Hello." He said, though to Kaede it just came out as 'meow.'

"Hi Shuichi! I'm Kokichi!" The fuffly purple cat greeted excitedly.

"Yes I know, Kaede told me."

"No need to be so mean!" Kokichi whined.

"N-no no! I didn't mean to be mean! I'm sorry!"

"Nee-heehee! I know silly!"

Shuichi's tail wagged around slightly and Kokichi pawed at it like it was a toy. 

"H-hey!" Shuichi blushed and retracted his tail away.

Kokichi gave a small 'boo' in disappointment. He circled around Shuichi like shark in water, making said blue furred cat blush more and curl up into a small ball in discomfort. Kokichi pounced onto him playfully. 

"Hey! D-don't do that!" Shuichi yelled. Kokichi just continued to play around with him. Kaede watched and smiled at the cuteness of the two. She got a bowl of milk and cat food and wrote Kokichi's name on it and placed it next to Shuichi's. She walked to her room to get ready for bed and let the two cats play.

After getting tired of annoying Shuichi, Kokichi decided to wander around his new house. Shuichi followed the fluffy cat to make sure he didn't do anything bad. 

"This is a nice place you've got Shuichi!" Kokichi said while exploring.

"It's not my place, it's Kaede's"

"Maaan! You sure are formal."

For about ten more minutes Kokichi explored the house as Shuichi followed him. They ended up back in the living room and Kokichi fake yawned.

"So what do you do for fun Shuichi?" He asked.

"Well, I mostly sleep, but sometimes I'll walk around in the backyard." Shuichi inquired.

"So your a boring one?"

"I-I'm not boring."

"Yesss you are!" Kokichi teased.

"No I'm not!"

"You are!"

Shuichi raised his voice in irritation, "Well what do you do for fun then!?"

"I do lots of fun stuff!"

"Like what?"

Kokichi paused to think before getting an idea. A fun idea.

"Like tag!"

"...Tag?" Shuichi questioned.

"Yeah!" 

Kokichi tapped his nose against Shuichi, causing the blue cat to blush. "Tag! You're it!" Kokichi shouted and backed away from him. Shuichi just staying in place and looked at the purple kitty in confusion. 

Kokichi looked back at Shuichi, "Uhh, you're supposed to tag me back."

Shuichi nodded and walked towards Kokichi. The fluffy purple cat took a few steps back. Shuichi was confused but walked towards him again, and Kokichi just stepped back even more with a smirk, seeing the blue cat getting frustrated. Shuichi once again stepped in Kokichi's direction and Kokichi stepped back.

"Why do you keep moving!?" Shuichi shouted in frustration and irritation.

"Because that's how you play tag!" Kokichi grinned.

Shuichi pounced towards the purple kitty but he dodged. Kokichi jumped onto the couch and ran, with Shuichi in pursuit. He jumped off and ran around the living room before running into the kitchen. Shuichi trailed behind him. Kokichi jumped around and made his way all around the house. When he reached the living room, he jumped onto the table with Shuichi still on the ground. Kokichi ran across the table and accidentally bumped into a glass cup, tipping it off the  edge of the table and it smashed onto the ground in several pieces.

Kokichi froze. It was his first day there and he had already messed something up. Kaede walked out from a corner, curious about the sudden startling noise. She looked at the scene. Kokichi was on the table with her glass cup smashed on the ground and Shuichi was off to the side. She connected the dots and looked at Kokichi, disappointed that what the lady at the pet store said was true, he always causes trouble.

"Kokichi...did you do this?" Kaede asked with a concuesitory tone in her voice.

Kokichi was frozen in place. He was scared of getting kicked out, afraid of getting put up for adoption again. Shuichi saw the scared look on his face and hopped onto the table and stood in front of Kokichi in a firm stance. Kokichi was taken aback. He didn't expect Shuichi would stick up for him, after all, all he'd done was annoy the blue furred cat.

Kaede's expression softened as she released a small smile. She was happy Shuichi made a friend and stood up for the fluffy purple kitty. She grabbed a broom and dust pan and cleaned the glass shards before either of the 3 could step on them. She scooped the shards and and let them slide off the dust pan and into the trash can. She approached the two cats and smiled.

"It's okay Kokichi. Since Shuichi made a friend, I'll forgive you. Well I'm I going to bed don't stay up too late you two." She said and walked to her room.

Kokichi turn to Shuichi, "You...you stood up for me..why?" 

Shuichi blushed and looked away, his ears drooped in embarrassment, "Well...you didn't deserve to be punished for an accident. A-and I care about you, even if we just met. You're my first friend."

Kokichi blushed, "Well, thank you Shuichi." He smiled.

Kokichi and Shuichi yawned. They jumped onto the couch and layed on a blanket that was already there. They layed closely next to each in an adorable kitty cuddle ball. Kokichi placed his head on Shuichi's paws and Shuichi put his on the back of Kokichi's neck. They intertwined their tails together, and purred together as they snuggled closer to each other, savoring the others warm body. 

This was just the start of their adorable kitty friendship, and eventually more.
