Secret Santa

Takes place in a normal Hopes Peak High School

3rd person POV

Hopes Peaks high. A school for gifted and talented teenagers. Every student is unique. Different talents, and different personalities. It was the month of december, Christmas only 3 days away. The school doesn't usually do anything special for Christmas, but Mr. Monokuma, the teacher of the 79th class, (79 sounded the best since they could be younger than the 78th class.) decided to give his students a break from work, and do a Secret Santa.

The teacher is a strange one. He was a skinny man with half of his hair white and the other black, he also has hederochromia, with one eye being more of a black color, and the other red. Some days he would come in seeming to hate his job and his students, but then the next day he will give his students no homework and let them do what they want during the class. It was kind of a gamble of what you would get that day. Today was Friday, and today in particular, Monokuma was feeling more in the Christmas spirit than the previous days.

"Alright you bastards, instead of having a giant end of year assignment...We're gonna have a Secret Santa event!!"
The teacher said, raising his arms in the air in excitement. Some students groaned, while others smile hearing that theirs no assignment.

"Pardon me, but isn't the end of year assignment mandatory?" Kirumi, The Ultimate Maid, questioned.

"Who caaress!!! Unless..you guys want to do work?" Monokuma said teasingly.

"NO!!" The majority class shouted.

"Alright you little shits! Write you're name on a piece of paper and put it in this hat."
Mr. Monokuma then pulled out a black top hat from somewhere in his desk, and put it on the top of his desk.

The class all wrote down their names and put it the hat. Some were curious about who they would get and others seemingly didn't care. But one ultimate was practically praying to Atua that he would get his crush. Kokichi Oma, The Ultimate Supreme Leader. The leader, despite not showing his true emotions, or shoves his feelings away, was madly in love with his classmate, the Ultimate Detective, Shuichi Saihara. There was something about the detective that he couldn't quite place. He would always tease the shy detective, but could never tell him his true feelings. Shuichi on the other hand, was unsure of his feelings towards the lying leader. He liked being around the grape and would blush whenever the gremlin teased him, which was quite often, but couldn't place his feelings.

"Now that everyone has put their weird names in, Kaito! Get you're space-ass over here and pull a name."
The teacher commanded. Kaito, the ultimate Astronaut, got out of his seat and took a piece of paper with a name on it. When he read the name he blushed and smiled.

"Yes!!" He shouted

One by one the 79th class pulled names out of the hat. Some were happy of who they got, others were disapointed and confused. When it became Kokichi's turn, he took a name and read it. He instantly smiled of who he got. He got his beloved Shuichi. He walked to his seat with the biggest smile on his face and sat down. By the time is was Shuichi's turn there was one name left. He slowly took it.

"Sure, time your time Shuichi." Monokuma said bored.

Once he read the name his face flushed bright red. he reread the name when he sat down. Shuichi got Kokichi. Even though he talks with the leader pretty often, he didn't know what to get him. The rest of the day continued until the bell rang, signaling it was the end of the day. Kokichi left happy he got his beloved detective, and Shuichi left feeling his face warm and unsure of what to get the leader.

Kokichi's POV

Once I got home, I squealed.

I can't believe I got Shuichi!! I'll be sure to thank Angie for Atua on Monday. I thought.

Instead of buying a gift, I decided to make one. I flopped on my desk chair and immediately got out a book and started drawing a sketch of my homemade gift.

Shuichi's POV

I walked towards my house with Kaito, the ultimate Astronaut and Maki, the ultimate Assassin, as usual. Once we got there, they said their goodbyes and left. I opened the door and greeted my uncle who was sitting on the couch, and went to my room. As I opened my door to my room, I put my bag down and went straight to the bathroom. My face was red with blush when I looked in the mirror.

Ugh! Why does this always happen to me! I have no idea what to get him!
I thought to myself

Time skip to the next day (Saturday)

My eyes are greeted with the sun's brightness of the weekend. My uncle has work today, so I'm left alone in the house. I ate breakfast and watched TV to fill time. My head keeps thinking of ideas of what to Kokichi. For some reason I want to get him something meaningful and that he will like, instead of just some typical Christmas gift.

I could ask Kaito for suggestions, but he would probably say to get some lame gift because he doesn't Kokichi. I guess I could ask Kaede for help. She doesn't mind Kokichi for the most part, and she might know just what I should get him. I say in my head.

I picked up my phone and called Kaede.

"Hi Kaede."

"Hey Shuichi! What's up?" She says in her usual happy tone.

"Nothing much, I just wanted to see if you have any suggestions of what I should get Kokichi."

"Omg! You got Kokichi for Secret Santa!? You should give him a kiss for a gift!!"
I forgot that she ships me and Kokichi together. Her and Tsumugi both fangirl whenever they see us together.

"I-I can't do that! But I do want to get him something meaningful and nice." I say, feeling my face heat up.

"Why don't you make him something! Something full of love! Maybe a bracelet or necklace?" She says. I can almost feel the fangirl ora raideating through the phone.

"I-I guess I could make him some sort bracelet. Thanks for the help Kaede." I thank her.

"No problem! And don't forget to give him that kiss as well." I hang up before she could say anything else.

I get my shoes on and a jacket to go to the craft store to get materials for Kokichi's gift.

Time skip to later in the day

Once I got home, I worked on the bracelet. The bracelet is made with a purple string, arranged in the way a friendship bracelet is made, though I kinda want it to be more than just a friendship bracelet.

Wait what did I just think!?

Unlike a normal friendship bracelet, where you buy little charms, I made some of my own.

One was a little bottle of Panta, another with the DICE logo on it.
Another one was a Phantom mask and a gem. And the final one had the words 'Supreme Leader' on it with a purple heart.

I blushed at my creation and put it in a small checkered bag that had some purple colored tissue paper in it. Afterwards I spent the rest of the day reading mystery novels, and the day after, I went to the mall with Kaito so he could get something for the person he got, which turned out to be Maki.

Final Time Skip to Monday (Christmas day)

I walked to school with Kaito and Maki as I usually do. Today is the day we give our person our gift. My face was warm the entire walk to school, and Kaito even asked if I was okay, which I responded telling him I was a bit nervous, to which he gave me a slap on the back and a thumbs up saying everything will be fine.

When we walked into the classroom I saw a few people there talking. Kokichi wasn't there yet and I became a little less tense. Once everyone arrived, Mr.Monokuma told everyone to stand in there seats. I tried to not make eye contact with Kokichi as much as possible. I was just too nervous to look at him.

"Alright! Time for Secret Santa! Everyone close your eyes. One by one I will have someone's Secret Santa go up and put their person's gift on their desk. So close your eyes!"
Mr. Monokuma spoke up. We all closed our eyes and waited for the black and white teacher to out call names.

"Okay! To start off, Maki's Secret Santa..please place your gift on her desk."
We heard light russeling coming from Kaito's desk. He could've at least made less noise to not make it obvious that Maki's Secret Santa was him.

When Monokuma told my Secret Santa to place my gift, I tensed up. I was kind of hoping it was Kokichi, but I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Kokichi's turn came around and I quietly took the small bag out and carefully made my way to his desk. I placed the gift on the desk and looked at him while his eyes were closed. He was smirking and my face heated up just looking at him. After I returned to my seat, and closed my eyes, Monokuma said the rest of the names.

"Okay you Christmas bastards! Open your eyes!" He exclaimed.

We opened our eyes and looked down at our desks.

On my desk was a small navy blue box. I opened the box and what I saw made my eyes go wide and my face heat up. It was a ring. It was a glossy grey color with the words 'My Beloved Detective' engraved on it, as well as a tiny magnifying glass next to it. I put it on my ring finger on my left hand. It fit perfectly. I thought about who was my Secret Santa but then it hit me.

There's only one person who calls me Beloved. It was Kokichi. I turned my head to him and I saw that he was staring at the bracelet, and I could've sworn I saw a bit of glossyness in his eyes, almost as if he was gonna cry.
He turned his head to me and we made eye contact until he ran to me, and encaptured me in a tight hug, burying his face in my chest.

"Thank you so much Shumai!!" He said looking up at me, his arms still around me.

"You're welcome. But how did you know it was me?" I ask.

"It was kinda easy to figure out when you wouldn't look at me when I came in." He said smirking.

"Well, thank you for the ring. I don't know how you made it, but I really love it." I say hugging him back.

"Um Shuichi?" He asked pulling out of the hug and looking away. He had a small blush on his cheeks, which made me blush.

"Yes?"

"I-I have another gift for you." His face went redder, as he pulled me to the back of the class, in a corner.

He stared at me blush-faced. He took a deep breath then got on his tippy toes and put his hands on my shoulders. Then he took another deep breath and leaned in and....kissed me.

I was in shock but, kissed back. His lips were soft, softer than I could ever imagine. I held his cheek in my hand gently. After a few seconds he pulled away and stared at me again with an even redder face, smiling.

"Merry Christmas Shuichi. I love you."

I paused for a moment. I smiled back at him and carested his cheek.

"I love you too Kokichi." I kissed his cheek.

"Merry Christmas."
