Third POV

It's noon in the city of Tokyo, there is a place known as the Hikawa Shrine, where a long black-haired, purple-eyed girl named Rei Hino lives. Rei was currently meditating over a fire when she felt Phobos and Deimos perch on her shoulders. "Phobos. Deimos. What's going on?" Rei asks. Phobos and Deimos squawked, flapped their wings and flew out of the temple with Rei following close behind. As she nears the front of the temple that leads to the sidewalk, she spots a boy lying unconscious at the entrance to the shrine. "Oh my gosh! Sir, are you ok?" she asks as she runs to him. When she gets to him, she sees that he is about her age, with hair that is black in the back with light purple in the front. He is also wearing a black shirt, a black and cream-colored jacket, and a necklace. "Wow, I will admit, he is handsome." She thought as she tried to keep herself from blushing at the boy. She checks to see if he's alive and senses a pulse. "Good, he has a pulse." She sighs in relief. She was about to pick him up when she heard her Grandpa call for her. "Rei, where are you?" Grandpa Hino called out as he walked to the entrance to the shrine. He saw Rei put the boy's right arm around her and gave a confused look and asked, "What in the world are you doing, Rei." She gave him a concerned look, "I found this boy here and I checked to see if he's alright. He's alive, but he's unconscious." she explained as she struggled to walk with him. Grandpa Hino sighs, puts the boy's other arm on his shoulder, and looks at Rei sternly, "We'll put him in my room till he wakes up."

Yuto's POV, Dream Sequence

I stand in what looks to be a garden of some sort of palace. There was a small rectangular pond in the center, with golden tiles and plants in the further back corners. At the front, I see a wall, with an opening in the center that leads to a Grand palace with a red roof, and behind it, a view of vast mountains that almost look like they are in the sky. I walk through the opening, I spot a balcony with a girl on it. I can't see who the girl is, but I know that she is a princess. As I walk to her she calls out, "Caligo". I stop. "Umm, excuse me miss, but my name is Yuto." I replied to her. The girl replies, "Caligo. My beloved Caligo. Please, find me and the legendary sky crystal before it's too late." I then jump up onto the balcony, and the girl steps back. Then I say to her, "I don't understand. What's the legendary sky crystal, and who are you?" The girl comes closer to me, "My name is..." But then, everything goes white.

Dream Sequence End

I blink a few times to see a wooden ceiling above me. I sit up and realize that I'm on the floor and take a look at my surroundings, which consists of tatami mat flooring, sliding doors, and wooden engawa verandas. "How did I get here?" I think. I get up, slide the door open and walk outside to see a girl with a broom sweeping the ground of what looks to be some sort of shrine. Then suddenly, two black crows land on my shoulders, squawk and nuzzle me. I smile at this weird but comforting show of affection. "It looks like Phobos and Deimos really like you." I look and see the girl that was sweeping come over to me. She had black hair that had a slight purple tint to it, purple eyes, and red earrings along with red and white shrine priestess robes. "I found you at the entrance to the Hikawa Shrine earlier. You were out cold. I'm glad you're alright." She said with a smile. I smile at her kindness. "Thank you for helping me. My name is Yuto and I'm new to Tokyo. What's your name?" I ask her. "I'm Rei Hino, I live here at the Hikawa Shrine with my Grandpa. He's the owner of the Shrine," she replies. I was about to say something when I heard an old man's voice. "My my, it looks like Rei made a new friend. How are you feeling, young man?" I turn to see a tall man with short, white hair and a white mustache. "I'm feeling good sir, are you Rei's Grandpa?" I ask. He smiles and says, "Yes, I'm Rei's Grandpa. What's your name, young man?" He asks. "I'm Yuto, sir." I replied back. Her Grandpa and I started to talk about many things until Rei noticed the sun go down and got our attention. "Yuto, do you want us to take you home? It's getting late." She asked. I hesitated for a minute before speaking. "I don't have a home anymore. Something happened that took everything I had away. My friends, my people, and even my homeland were destroyed." I say as I remember when the Fusion dimension attacked Heartland City. I clutching my fist tightly as I remember that horrible day. I look up and Rei and her Grandpa look at me with sadness on their faces.

Rei's POV

"How awful. How could someone as nice as him lose everything? Well, I know that I don't like boys, but I get this feeling that Yuto isn't like most boys. I have to help him." I think to myself, already knowing what to do. I turn to Grandpa and say, "Grandpa, if it's not too much trouble, do you mind if he lives here, with us? I can teach him how to run the shrine." Grandpa and Yuto look at me in shock. Grandpa calmed down and said, "I don't mind. Besides, It's not like I'm getting any younger anyway. But Rei, we also need Yuto to agree with it before that happens." I looked at Yuto, who still seemed surprised by my question. "I don't want to intrude." He says nervously. "You're not. There's no way I'm gonna let someone as nice as you fend for yourself. So, what do you say, Yuto?" I ask. He thinks for a minute, then smiles and says, "I will. Thank you, Rei. I'll do my best around here." And so, we spent the rest of the evening getting Yuto's room set up, with me smiling the whole time.

The Next Day, Yuto's POV

It's the next day, at noon and I'm helping Rei's Grandpa sweep the grounds of the Shrine. Rei said she had to run some errands so her Grandpa had me help him run things until she got back. As we swept the grounds, Grandpa Hino, (Which he told me I could call him, much to Rei's embarrassment), called out to me, "Break time Yuto!" I set the broom against the wall and went in for some Green Tea. As we drink our Tea, Rei comes in with grocery bags. She sees me and hands me what looks to be a present. "I found you something I think you'll like." She says happily. I take the box and say, "Thank you Rei, but first I think I'm gonna help you put the groceries away first." She nods and I help her put the food away.
After the food has been put away, I take the present and open it and my eyes widen. Inside the box was a navy blue pocket watch with a silver interior. It also had a silver chain and the top of the pocket watch had bat-like wings on it.

"I love it! Where did you find this?" I ask her. "There was a lady who was selling pocket watches on the sidewalk. When I told her about you, she recommended that I give you this one." She explained. I smiled, held the pocket watch to my chest, and thought, "I may have lost everything, but I now have hope for tomorrow."

Somewhere in an Unknown Location

A woman stands on the balcony of a palace, a woman with gray eyes and light purple hair that melts into a dark purple. She stands overlooking a City until another woman, with yellow hair and greenish-blue eyes, appears beside her and says "So, you gave the princess of Mars the pocket watch that your son, Caligo had before he was reincarnated as Yuto, huh Nyx?" The woman, Nyx turns and says sternly to the other woman,"I know you are eager to see your son too, Astrape. But remember what Zeus said, "We cannot reveal ourselves until those 6 individuals remember their past." Astrape puts her arms over her head, "Yah, I know. Just don't beret me when I hug my son, Asterope when I see that he remembers me." Astrape says casually while turning around and heading into the palace. "Well, I'll see you then Nyx!" She yells. Nyx turns her attention back to the City below her and smiles. "Alright Queen Medea, let's see if my son, Caligo, who is now Yuto, can help his lover defeat you for good and all."
