twenty-two
[twenty-two: Do you see him now?]
The battle continues. A few Telmarines gang up on Caspian, and he falls into the pit. Glozelle walks over with a pike and lifts it. He sees that it is Caspian, and hesitates before catching Genevieve's eye who shakes her head at him before she continues to sword fight with a soldier not so far away. Then, a tree root spring from the soils, grabs him and pulls him away much to his surprise. Peter helps Caspian out of the pit and they see that the trees have come, the two with smiles on his face. The Telmarines continue launching rocks, and one of them knocks over a tree. Another tree sticks a root into the ground. It comes up further down, taking out a trebuchet.
"For Aslan!" Peter screams as he lifts his sword into the air and the Narnians charge.
"We can defeat them if we draw them to the river!" A soldier recommended and Sopespian nodded before he looks towards the soldiers with a determined smile.
"To Beruna!" Sopespian screams to the Telmarine soldiers who nod before the tunr their horses around and venture forward.
The Telmarines retreat with the Narnians closing in on them. They reach the bridge and start crossing. Halfway down, Sopespian brings the army to a screeching halt. Lucy and Ron stand on the other side, seemingly alone. She draws her dagger and smiles whilst Ron pulls out a sword of his own and points it menacingly. They were prepared. Then, Aslan joins them leaving many Narnians to gaps at the sight of the great lion - their King. Sopespian stares more at the lion he looks ahead, and then back, and then...
"Charge!" He screams, the Telmarine soldiers joining in a battle cry as they venture forward.
The Telmarines charge towards Aslan. The lion roars and the Telmarines stop triumphantly as their eyes widen in shock. The water beneath the bridge starts behaving strangely, then it shoots up and forms a the river god from its mists which frightens many of the soldiers upon sight. The river-god lifts up the bridge and soldiers fall off. Sopespian stands alone on the bridge in the river god's hands and he swings his sword wildly as the water comes crashing down on him. Many of the Telmarines climb out of the water, handing their swords to the Narnians in a sign of defeat and surrender.
The battle was won.

Peter, Susan, Genevieve, Edmund, and Caspian kneel before the lion who smiles at them all proudly as he stands next to Lucy and Ron who have proud smiles on their own faces as they look at their family with a smile.
"Rise, kings and queens of Narnia." Aslan says solemnly, smiling as some figures rose before him whilst others did not.
Peter, Susan, and Edmund rise immediately but Caspian and Genevieve stay kneeled - leaving most confused as they looked at the girl especially, who kept her own eyes trained to the ground as she kneeled guiltily.
"All of you." He commands but Caspian only shakes his head as he looks at the lion.
"I do not think I am ready." He whispers and Aslan only smiles at him.
" It's for that very reason I know that you are." He says and Caspian rises before Aslan laces his eyes onto the selfless girl who stays kneeled. "And you Eve?"
"Forgive me Aslan but I am not worthy to be seen as a Queen." Genevieve states and Aslan only chuckles before he reaches forward and places his paw on her shoulder.
"And yet you have done more for Narnia than any other have and ever will. Rise Child." He commands and Genevieve smiles for a moment before she rises towards him, Edmund taking her hand the moment she did so and placing a kiss there - Aslan watching with a smile.
They then hear music as several mice walk up, carrying Reepicheep on a little stretcher towards the great lion- his tail noticeably missing leaving Genevieve to gasp at the noble mouse. Lucy gives Reepicheep a drop from her cordial and waits for a moment before he breathes and sits up.
"Oh, thank you, Your Majesty..." Reepicheep then sees the lion and gasps. "Oh, hail Aslan! It is a great honor to be,"
Reepicheep tries to bow but stumbles forward. He looks behind and realizes that his tail is missing.
"Oh Reep." Genevieve whispers before the mouse looks at her with a sad smile.
"I am completely out of countenance. I must crave your indulgence for appearing in this unseemly fashion. Perhaps a drop more?" He asks as he looks up at Lucy's cordial.
"I don't think it does that." Lucy admits and Reepicheep only gives her a determined smile.
"You can have a go." He says and Aslan only chuckles.
"It becomes you well, Small One." Aslan compliments and the mouse only bows with a sad smile.
"All the same, great king, I regret that I must withdraw." He states sadly as he looks to the stump where his tail once was. "For a tail is the honor and glory of a mouse."
"Perhaps you think too much of your honor, friend." Aslan states but Reepicheep only bows before shaking his head, attempting to stand.
"Well, it's not just the honor. It's also great for balance... and climbing... and grabbing things." Reepicheep tries to sell his case and Aslan smiles whilst the other mice draw their swords and hold them to their tails.
"May it please your high Majesty, we will not bear the shame of wearing an honor denied to our chief." A fellow mice says and Aslan laughs with a smile.
"Not for your honor, but for the love of your people..." Aslan states before letting out a soft roar as Reepicheep's tail grows back.
"Oh, look! Thank you, thank you, my liege! I will treasure it always! From this day forward, it will serve as a great reminder of my huge humility." He says excited and Aslan laughs before a calm look settles on his face before looking to Ron and Lucy.
"Now, where is this dear little friend you've told me so much about?" He asked and all eyes turn to Trumpkin who gulps.
Trumpkin looks over nervously before he slowly walks over and bows before the lion. Aslan roars and Trumpkin immediately shudders with a guilty look on his face.
"Do you see him now?" Lucy and Ron asked together, watching as Trumpkin nodded his head various times and the two high five before following Aslan.
They begin to walk back to the castle, Genevieve walking at the back of the group as she looks at the ground solemnly and sadly until a hand takes her own, interlocking their fingers in something that felt so familiar to her. Genevieve looks up at the person through her eyelashes, a smile radiating to her features as the other person tucks a piece of her hair behind her ear with a smile.
"Hello love," Edmund greeted her with a soft smile on his face as he looked at his blushing wife. "We need to talk."
