[twelve: I'm an idiot]
"I've never seen these constellations before." Edmund admitted as he laid beside Caspian on the shore, the two looking up to the constellations in the sky.
"Me neither." Caspian stated." We're a long way from home. When I was a boy I used to imagine sailing to the end of the world... finding my father there."
"Maybe you will." Edmund whispered and the two shared a smile before Caspian's eyes casted over to Genevieve who was sat involved in a conversation with Ron.
"Have you spoken to her?" He asked and Edmund shook his head.
"No."
"Why not?" Caspian asked as he rose his eyebrow at Edmund, a frown settling on the Just King's face as he looked forward.
"She keeps pushing me away - flinching when I walk past her." Edmund stated before he looked down, his last words a whisper. "Like I'm a monster."
"Ed you may have a frightening temper but you are no monster." Caspian reassured as he looked at his friend with a concerned smile. "You know that she could never think ill of you."
"Then why did she flinch? She knows it was accidental."
"She also has a history of accidents becoming more, with her father and her uncle when she was much younger Ed. It's just traumatic to her that you had hurt her because you were tempted." Caspian reminded him and Edmund sighed before he met Caspian's eye again. "She loves you too much to see you as a monster Ed."
"So what do I do?"
"That's up to you but my first instinct would be to talk to her - not as the Just King or as a swordsman but as her husband Ed." Caspian offered his assistance and Edmund nodded before smiling.
"You're right, always are." Edmund stated before looking at Caspian and placing his heart on his sleeve. "Narnia is lucky to have a King like you."
There was silence for a moment as a smile settled on Caspian's face, before a thought entered his head and his smile widened as he turned to Edmund.
"in regards to your problem, I think I have something that may help."

"I miss my mummy." Gael whispered into the nights, a tear falling from her eye as Lucy turned to her - a soft smile on her face as she looked to the girl.
"I miss mine too." She admitted as she met Gael's eye. "Don't worry, you'll see her again."
"How do you know?"
"You just have to have faith about these things. Aslan will help us." Lucy concluded and Gael only sighed as she turned to Lucy with a frown.
"But Aslan couldn't stop her from being taken."
"We'll find her. I promise." Lucy stated with a smile before turning to look at the sky with a thoughtful look. "Somehow."

Eustace couldn't sleep. The uncomfortable sand on top of the unnatural body he seemed to be in was too much for the dragon to handle as he tried to close his eyes - sleep seeming impossible as pure tears fell from his eyes. Reepicheep awoke as he watched a tear fall and he sighed as he looked at the dragon in pity before walking over to him.
"Trouble sleeping?" He asked and Eustace only ignored him as Reepicheep smiled. "Now, now. All is not as lost as it seems. I'll stay up with you if you wish...keep you company."
Eustace remained in silence as Reepicheep stood in front of him.
"I'll wager you didn't even believe in dragons this morning." He started before he chuckled at the dragon." Yes. You know... extraordinary things only happen To extraordinary people. Maybe it's a sign... that you've got an extraordinary destiny."
Upon hearing those words Eustace turned his head to look at Reepicheep who continued to smile at him.
"Something greater than you could have imagined. I could tell you one or two of my adventures if you like... just to pass the time." Eustace moved himself over as he laid his head in the sand to look at Reepicheep and so he could hear the mouse better.
"Believe it or not, you're not the first dragon I've encountered. Many years ago, too many than I care to mention... I was with a band of pirates. I met another dragon, much fiercer than you..."

"How are you feeling?" Ron broke the silence between himself and his cousin who lay side by side, neither able to fall asleep with all the events that had happened that day.
"Conflicted." Genevieve stated, that being the only word to describe how she felt in that moment.
"Well I'm certain of that being what happened today."
"You shouldn't have punched him." Genevieve whispered and Ron only shrugged with a ghost of a smile on his face.
"You're right. You should have punched him." He replied and Genevieve lightly chuckled. "have the two of you spoken?"
"No."
"Is that his doing or yours?"
"You don't understand Ron." Genevieve whispered as she sat up and pulled her knees to her chest, a tear falling down her cheek. "You didn't see the look in his eyes, how he didn't even glance at me after he did it - the lack of guilt in his eyes immediately after. It took Lucy to step in for him to notice. Do you know how that feels?"
"No, and I hope I never do but take this to your advantage. If he truly loves you, which even Aslan knows he does, then he will do everything in his power to make it up to you - to let him know that he's sorry so that you can pretend it never happened." Ron reasoned but Genevieve only sighed.
"What if I don't want that?" She countered and Ron looked at her in confusion.
"What?"
"What if I don't want to forget - what if I can't forget?" Genevieve whispered and Ron frowned before looking at his cousin.
"Then you'll find that your future together will be shorter than you had hoped - and you don't want that Gen." Ron stated before lying down and turning his back to Genevieve. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight Ron."

"Oh Ed..." She murmured as she looked from the present to him with tears in her eyes. Edmund had given her a beautiful charm bracelet with five charms on it that represented their friendship and journey together. "It's beautiful."
"The first charm is of a book, I don't know if you remember but when we were on the train you were reading a book about-" Edmund started to explain, a soft smile on his face as he knew she liked it.
"The laws of physics." Genevieve finished as she saw the word Physics written on the small charm. "I also remember you staring at me and giving me a weird look."
"I was just... I just." Edmund stammered and Genevieve just smiled at him as she looked at the other charms.
One was of a tree, which looked like it had small ropes on it and Genevieve immediately recognised it as when Edmund and Genevieve were tied to a tree together and were given time to bond. The next was of a coat and a red hat and Genevieve giggled as she remembered when Edmund left without his coat in the snow and she came to speak to him in a woolen red hat. The next was of a crown and a shield and Genevieve smiled as the crown looked a lot like Edmund's crown and the shield was definitely her sword from the first battle. The last charm however, was definitely her favourite of them all. It was a purple heart with the same patterns that were on her rings painted across of it. On the front however were the initials E.P and G.P and Genevieve smiled as she looked up at Edmund, tears in her eyes again.
"Turn it around." Edmund said to her and Genevieve turned the heart around and let a tear fall from her eye. Across the back of it were the two words that meant everything to the two children, the two words that acted as a Safety Pin to their hearts.
Genevieve awoke abruptly at that moment, her breath heavy as she looked around the camp that was still intimidated by the darkness of the night and met the eyes of Edmund, who refused to look away as she continued to stare. Genevieve looked down at her wrist and saw that the charm bracelet wasn't there, which shouldn't have been a surprise to her as it had been lost when she had left Narnia the first time - being stolen or destroyed in the ruins of Cair Paravel.
She frowned for a moment before a solitary tear fell from her eye at one of her happiest memories - for times were simpler back then. She wondered why it was so important to her now, why Aslan had decided that she needed to see that memory at that moment as if it held significance for the future. Why had she been shown it?
"Can we talk?" Edmund asked as he interrupted Genevieve from her thoughts, the girl jumping at the sound of his voice which caused him to frown.
"Of course." Genevieve muttered as Edmund held out his hand to help her up. Genevieve looked at the hand for a moment, a small smile on her face as she took his hand and Edmund pulled her up softly into his arms.
Edmund held out his arm for her to take and Genevieve only chuckled lightly as she took it allowing Edmund to lead her to wherever they were going to talk, seeing as neither wanted to wake the others who were soundly asleep. He leads her to a small clearing on a hill that looks over the camp and the two sit on the edge of the hill and look into the night - no words being exchanged between them.
"I'm an idiot." Edmund murmurs as he looks forward, Genevieve hearing as she doesn't even look at him - her eyes trained on the night sky.
"Agreed." She stated before she saw Edmund frown in her peripheral vision before she smiles and nudges him. "But you're my idiot and I forgive you."
"How can you forgive me? I could have killed you. I didn't even get round to the speech I prepared." Edmund replied with a small smile. Genevieve chuckling as she looked at him and took his hand.
"It was an accident Edmund - we all make them. In fact I've made a few myself." She admits as she looks away for a moment, only to look at him again. "The important thing is that we don't hold them against each other for accidents happen every day and build a good relationship."
"You're not mad?"
"Oh I'm absolutely mad Edmund," Genevieve stated as she looked at him and he frowned. "I'm mad that you couldn't come to your senses and realise what was happening around you but that shouldn't matter, it's actually hypocritical for me to say that because of what happened on the ship."
"We all make mistakes." Edmund clarified and Genevieve nodded and the two were silent for a moment. "I have something for you."
"Ed..." Genevieve sighed as she looked at him.
"It's yours anyway so I might as well give to to you." Edmund stated as he pulled the item out of his pocket and her breath hitched.
There in his hand was the missing charm bracelet from her twentieth birthday and Genevieve smiled at it before looking to the sky in wonder.
What does it mean?
