[twelve: did you kill my father?]

"Be careful out there." Ron whispered as he watched Genevieve dig her rings into the soil outside, golden armor releasing around her as she emitted golden rays of protection around her. 

"I will be. You stay here okay? No wandering off." She said to him, her hand on his cheek as a sigh that she was going to be okay.

"I promise." He whispers as Genevieve walks away only for him to urge Edmund to come over. "I know you're not talking to each other but if you ever loved her please promise me you'll ensure she comes back alive."

"I promise," He whispered as he followed his gaze to Genevieve who seemed to be talking with Reepicheep. "you be brave little man."

"I am brave!"

"I know but just in case, look after Lucy for me." He begged only for Lucy to walk past and scoff.

"I can protect myself!" She says and Ron and Edmund laugh as Edmund sends her a smile.

"I know! But it gives him a job to do!" Edmund says and Ron on hits him on the arm as he laughs and follows the army out with a determined smile on his face.

He had to do this!

The Telmarine castle soon comes into view. A griffin flies in, carrying Edmund. They land on top of a tower, out of sight of a soldier who stands guard. The soldier looks up, and sees nothing. Then, the griffin grabs him and pulls him up. Edmund jumps down, and uses his electric torch to signal the others. Peter, Susan, and Caspian, carried by griffins, fly in and land. Caspian flies low and kills a soldier on the way. Another soldier notices Edmund's signals and aims his crossbow but Susan quickly shoots him. They land easily and Peter kills a Telmarine soldier .Outside, Asterius sneaks along. A soldier sees him and draws his sword butAsterius puts a finger to his lips.

"Shhh." He whispers as Nikabrik comes up behind him and hits the soldier in the head.

Led by Reepicheep, the mice climb out from underground, and scurry through the gate, easily fitting through the bars. They crawl across a rope and enter the castle. Reepicheep notices a cat around the corner. He draws his sword and smiles. Meanwhile Peter, Susan, and Caspian climb down a wall and Caspian knocks on a window.

"Professor?" He whispers and Caspian opens the window and steps into Cornelius' study and Peter and Susan follow. Caspian finds a pair of glasses on the table. "I have to find him."

"You don't have time." Peter stated as he looked at the Prince. "You have to get to the gatehouse."

"You wouldn't even be here without him. And neither would I." Caspian argued as Peter and Susan exchange glances.

"We can take care of Miraz." Susan stated as she looked into her brothers unsure eyes.

"And I can still make it to the gatehouse in time." Caspian states as Peter gives him a nod and Caspian runs off to find Cornelius - despite the heavy feeling Peter had in his stomach.

A Telmarine soldier walks around the castle interior. He notices that the cat is tied up and he looks around suspiciously. Reepicheep quickly drops into frame, hanging upside down, and draws his rapier. The soldier turns and sees him.

"Yes, I;m a mouse." He stated as Reepicheep hits the soldier. 

He jumps down and signals the other mice to follow. They all jump onto another soldier and knock him over. Then they climb onto each others backs and open the door. Trumpkin enters and shoots another soldier with Genevieve behind him guarding the door.

"Ah, we were expecting someone, you know, taller." Reepicheep directed towards him and Trumpkin only scoffed.

"You're one to talk."

"Is that supposed to be irony?" Reepicheep asks and Genevieve just gives them both a glare.

"Oh shush you two!" She says as the mouse bows towards her.

"Forgive me your majesty!" He states before Genevieve looks out and sees the coast is clear.

"Let's go!" She directs as Trumpkin shuts the door.

Caspian steps into Cornelius' cell, where his professor lies chained to the floor with shackles around his ankles before Caspian wakes him up.

"Five more minutes?" Caspian asks cheekily as Cornelius' eyes widen towards him.

"What are you doing here?" He asks Caspian and gets no reply. "I didn't help you escape just so you could get captured again. You have to get out before Miraz learns you're here."

"He'll learn soon enough. We are giving him your cell." Caspian says as Cornelius frowns and looks upon the Prince.

"Don't underestimate Miraz as your father did." He warned and Caspian froze as he looked at his Professor in confusion.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm sorry." He whispers as Caspian runs off while Cornelius watches and soon a sword is put to Miraz' throat as he sleeps. He opens his eyes, looks up, and chuckles at the familiar face.

"Thank goodness," Miraz chuckles as he looks at Caspian with a wicked grin. "you're safe."

"Get up." Caspian orders as Miraz climbs out of bed as Prunaprismia sits up.

"Caspian?" She asked worriedly as her eyes widen at the sword around her husbands neck.

"Stay where you are." 

"What are you doing?" She asked in a panic tone as tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

"I should think it‟s obvious, dear." He states as Miraz looks at Caspian. "You know, some might consider this inappropriate behavior."

"That doesn't seem to have stopped you." Caspian sneers and Miraz only chuckles.

"But you're not like me, are you?" He asked rhetorically. "It's sad. The first time you show any backbone, and it's such a waste.

Caspian follows Miraz' eyes to see Prunaprismia aim a loaded crossbow at him.

"Put the sword down, Caspian. I don't want to do this." She whispered as she looked at the young Prince whose look faltered as he looked to the crossbow.

"We don't want you to either!" A familiar voice states as Peter and Susan enter the bedroom. Peter instantly draws his sword, and Susan aims an arrow at Prunaprismia.

"This used to be a private room." Miraz mutters under his breath.

"Caspian, what are you doing? You'e supposed to be at the gatehouse." Peter snarls as he looks to the Prince as he shakes his head.

"No! Tonight, for once, I want the truth!" He shouts as he looks towards Miraz with watery eyes. "Did you kill my father?"

"Now we get to it." Miraz whispered as Prunaprismia's eyes widened as she looked at her husband in shock.

"You told me your brother died in his sleep." She muttered as she watched Miraz' head bop from side to side.

"That was more or less true." Miraz states as Caspian takes a few steps towards Miraz, and Miraz is forced to step back against the window.

"Did you kill my father?" He snarls again, anger clear in his veins as he looks towards his uncle who is smirking.

"Caspian, this won't make things any better." Susan tries to reason but for once Caspian ignores her as he keeps his eyes trained on his uncle, waiting for an answer.

"We Telmarines would have nothing had we not taken it. Your father knew that as well as anyone." Miraz states and Prunaprismia lowers the crossbow a little.

"How could you?" She stutters as she looks at her husband in horror.

"For the same reason you will pull that trigger!" He states as Miraz starts walking forward, and Caspian slowly steps back.

"Stop! Stay right there!"

"For our son! You must choose. Do you want our child to be king or do you want him to be like Caspian here? Fatherless!" Miraz snarls towards his wife as her eyes widen in horror.

"No!" She screams ans Prunaprismia shoots the arrow hitting Caspian as he falls over, allowing Miraz to escape through a secret door in the wall.

Their plan had ultimately failed!
