[three: beautiful]

"So you're a knight of Narnia? How did that happen?" Sir Orion asked Genevieve after they finished dancing and Genevieve just looked at him with a fake smile plastered on her face.

"Not to sound egotistical but I'm actually a High Knight of Narnia." Genevieve corrected him as she played with the sleeve of her dress. "Aslan named me High Knight of Narnia after I helped defeat the White Witch."

"Why only a Knight? Why not a Queen like the others." Orion asked her and she sighed as she looked towards Orion with a small frown.

"There was only place for four monarchs so I stepped back. Besides, I'm the Eve of Narnia and I don't need to be a Queen."

"But don't you think it's unfair that they got much of the credit and you're seen as a lower class?" Orion asked her and Genevieve only looked at him with a glare.

"Why are you so interested in this?" Genevieve asked him expectantly and Orion only looked at her with fake confusion placed upon his face.

"I'm just trying to get to know you."

"No. Getting to know me is asking what my favorite colour is or asking what my favourite book is or things actually about me. Not trying to turn me against the only family I know." Genevieve stated before she abruptly walked away only for Orion to start calling after her, catching Edmund's attention.

"Lady Genevieve wait!" Orion shouted as she stopped on the stairs and turned to Orion, unaware to the people staring at her.

"Firstly it's Sir Genevieve to you and secondly you have no right to speak to me. Now good day." She said as she walked out of the hall and to the gardens, tears streaming down her face.

The room stood sentinel as she stormed out and Edmund was the first to move as he approached the Knight with a stern look on his face.

"What did you do?" He asked sternly, his hands bawled into Orion's shirt as he looked into his frightened eyes.

"I just asked her about herself, she took it the wrong way." Orion said and Edmund roughly pushed him back as he ran after his best friend.

Edmund ran through the gardens, knowing that at this time of night Genevieve wouldn't take Elizabeth out for a ride at this time because she knew that Elizabeth needs to rest and therefore he concluded that she would be in the gardens. Edmund walked around looking for his best friend until he heard the soft cries in the distance. Edmund followed those cries and saw Genevieve leaning against a tree with tears streaming down her face and he immediately hugged her which only made her sob harder as she collapsed into his arms.

Edmund rarely got to see this side of her because she was a relatively easygoing individual who never really cried at all, at least in anyone's company. He was the only one who she willed herself to cry around, for she trusted him more than she trusted anyone else and she knew she could confide in him about anything. She loved him, she knew she did, but she was confused whether she loved him in more ways than one or not and the thought just made her cry harder.

"I'm sorry I ran out, I'm so stupid." Genevieve whispered but Edmund shushed her as he cupped her cheek, tracing his thumb across her tear stained face as he wiped the access tears. He looked into her broken eyes and offered her a small smile.

"Genevieve Ginerva Potter, you are definitely not stupid and you in no reason should feel sorry for running out. Orion obviously upset you and you had every right to run out. Now, care to tell me what happened?" Edmund asked her and Genevieve sighed as he pushed Edmund away softly as she wiped her hands over her eyes.

"He was getting under my skin about Narnia and status and about you guys but i think I may have misinterpreted it and - Aslan's mane I'm so stupid." Genevieve thought over the situation again. Maybe she was being so paranoid and upset about the Marriage ordeal that she misread what Orion is saying. "I have to go apologise."

"Gen wait," Edmund stopped the girl who was trying to run back to the castle by placing his hand on her shoulder, causing her to turn to face him. "I got you something for your birthday."

"Ed," She started as she stared at the box that Edmund placed in front of her. "You didn't have to get me anything."

"I know but it's your birthday and I had it specially made for you." Edmund stammered as he watched her open the box.

"Oh Ed..." She murmured as she looked from the present to him with tears in her eyes. Edmund had given her a beautiful charm bracelet with five charms on it that represented their friendship and journey together. "It's beautiful."

"The first charm is of a book, I don't know if you remember but when we were on the train you were reading a book about-" Edmund started to explain, a soft smile on his face as he knew she liked it.

"The laws of physics." Genevieve finished as she saw the word Physics written on the small charm. "I also remember you staring at me and giving me a weird look."

"I was just... I just." Edmund stammered and Genevieve just smiled at him as she looked at the other charms.

One was of a tree, which looked like it had small ropes on it and Genevieve immediately recognised it as when Edmund and Genevieve were tied to a tree together and were given time to bond. The next was of a coat and a red hat and Genevieve giggled as she remembered when Edmund left without his coat in the snow and she came to speak to him in a woolen red hat. The next was of a crown and a shield and Genevieve smiled as the crown looked a lot like Edmund's crown and the shield was definitely her sword from the first battle. The last charm however, was definitely her favourite of them all. It was a purple heart with the same patterns that were on her rings painted across of it. On the front however were the initials E.P and G.P and Genevieve smiled as she looked up at Edmund, tears in her eyes again.

"Turn it around." Edmund said to her and Genevieve turned the heart around and let a tear fall from her eye. Across the back of it were the two words that meant everything to the two children, the two words that acted as a Safety Pin to their hearts.

"Be safe." Genevieve whispered before she looked up at the best friend and tackled him with a hug, causing him to laugh. "Thank you Ed, I honestly don't know what to say. I love it!"

"I'm glad." Edmund whispered into her hair and the two stayed that way, slowly swaying from side to side in a hug. Genevieve was the one to pull back as she tucked a stray hair behind her ear before looking up at Edmund again.

"Susan's going to kill me. I promised I'd stay till the last song but I really don't want to go back in there." Genevieve said and Edmund chuckled before he looked around the gardens, an idea popping into his head.

"Well we can still hear the music out here, so technically you're staying till the last song." Edmund countered and Genevieve giggled as she pushed his chest lightly as she listened to the song that was playing.

"You know what I mean Ed. She wants me to dance the bloody night away with Orion but I really don't like him and he has two left feet." Genevieve sighed and Edmund just took her hand and placed the other on her waist as she stared into his eyes in confusion.

"Well then I guess you're stuck dancing the night away with me." Edmund murmured and Genevieve giggled as they started dancing in the moonlight.

Lucy walked out onto the balcony, a small giggle escalating from her lips at a joke her brother had told her moments ago and Peter followed swiftly behind her. The moon was now shining and reflecting on the ocean not so far away. They both leaned against the railings, smiles on their faces as they spotted their brother and Genevieve dancing in the gardens not so far away. Lucy gasped as she watched Edmund dip Genevieve as the two laughed and carried on dancing as if it were their last night in Narnia.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Lucy asked her older brother, who furrowed her eyebrows as he looked at his youngest sister in confusion. "Young love Peter. Isn't it beautiful?"

"I suppose so, its been blatantly obvious that the two have liked each other since we arrived in Narnia." Peter replied as he looked at the brightest smile on his brothers face. "Edmund certainly is a better person because of her."

"And Genevieve is a lot happier with Edmund. Have you noticed how quiet she was when we first met her and now she's so comfortable around us all?" Lucy asked and Peter nodded with a smile as he looked at the two again and then at his sister.

"It's sad though really, that the only people who don't realise how in love they are is Susan and themselves." Peter said and Lucy nodded before turning to her brother. "This whole trying to force Genevieve to marry ordeal is so stupid but Susan won't listen to me."

"There's no rule that says Edmund has to marry a Telmarine." Lucy said as she looked at her older brother with a smile before looking at the two dancing in the moonlight. "We need to help them."

"Why? Can't they find it out themselves? I don't think we should meddle." Peter tried to reason with his sister who just folded her arms as she looked at him with a smile.

"Look at them Peter." Lucy said and Peter looked towards the two with a small smile. "Do you know what I hear Peter?"

"What?"

"I hear wedding bells." Lucy whispered as she walked back into the ball room, leaving Peter with a smile on his face.
