five.

After a good night's sleep, Jungkook was back to his usual self. When Yoongi, as he had promised, went to trim his nails, he struggled and fought against him. The older male was victorious, in the end, and managed to hold the boy down long enough for him to cut them all. When he was done, Jungkook returned to the bedroom and remained there, sulking, until Yoongi yelled out that he was leaving for work. This made the younger male appear at the door, but only so he could glare at the older as he left.

"You didn't come to work yesterday." Hoseok noted when Yoongi arrived at work. Like always, he followed his friend into his office and remained there until they'd finished their early morning gossiping. "Was it Jungkook again?"

"Yeah, he wouldn't let me leave. Literally." The older male chuckled at the memory. "He jumped on top of me twice and wouldn't get off until I promised to stay with him. But we have a deal now, so he's okay with me going to work."

"Do you think we'd be able to see the movie tonight then? If we wait too long, they'll stop showing it and we'll miss out." Hoseok said, looking hopefully at his friend. "And I heard it's really good and worth watching on the big screen.

"It goes late, doesn't it?" The younger male nodded. "Would you mind if Jungkook crashed our date? I just think he might find a way to cut it short if he doesn't come."

"Sure, I guess." Hoseok shrugged, making it look like it was no big deal. "I mean, I'd like to meet the kid who's stealing all your attention from me."

"If it makes you feel any better, he's pretty spectacular."

"You have to behave, alright? And no letting your wings out." Yoongi told Jungkook as he helped him get dressed. Hoseok was outside, waiting in the car at the older male's request. The winged boy nodded as he pushed his arm through the pink jumper. "Hoseok's a nice guy, so you don't have to worry about him."

"But if he sees my wings, will he stop being a nice guy?" Jungkook asked, looking up at Yoongi as the older male practically pulled him in for a hug. He ran his hands down the younger boy's back, making sure the wings were secure under the jumper.

"If I was to tell anyone about your wings, it'd be him. I think after he got past the initial shock, he'd probably be fine." He gave the nervous boy a smile. "Plus he's the only person, besides Nam―"

Yoongi paused as his sentence was cut off by Jungkook's warm palm pressed against his mouth. He stared down at the smaller male, his brow furrowing in confusion. Then, realising what he'd been in the process of saying, understanding rushed through him. He held on to the boy's wrist, pulling his hand away so he could speak again.

"I'm sorry, I won't say his name."

"Good. Are we ready to go now?" Giving Jungkook one more once-over, Yoongi nodded and took his hand. The younger was bouncy and excited as they walked to the door, but when he saw Hoseok's face lit up by the glow of his phone, he paused. Moving closer to the older male's side, he watched the stranger cautiously.

"Don't worry. Like I said, he's a nice guy."

"I know." Jungkook whispered back. However, Yoongi could feel him grow more tense as Hoseok looked up and they opened the door. The older male helped Jungkook into the backseat. When the older went to leave, he stared up at him with wide, nervous eyes.

"I'll be in the front seat." Yoongi said quietly, pointing at the empty passenger seat. "I'll be right there if you need me, alright?"

"Okay... You promise you won't leave me?"

"I promise. I'm just going to walk around to the other side." He said as he put the seatbelt on the small boy. He then ruffled his hair, giving him another smile before stepping out and closing the door. Jungkook watched him closely as he moved around to the other side of the car, sighing in relief when the passenger door was opened and Yoongi hopped in. "Hoseok, this is Jungkook. Jungkook, my friend Hoseok."

"Hi~!" Hoseok called out as he turned around, smiling at Jungkook. The youngest just sat there, picking at the sleeve of his jumper. He tried to look up at the older two, but failed to maintain eye contact with the smiling stranger. This put Hoseok off a little, but he tried his best to make some conversation before they started driving again. "Do you enjoy living with Yoongi? Or do you miss your uncle?"

"I don't like my uncle. I like Yoongi." The boy responded quietly.

"Oh... okay. Well, that's good. Are you looking forward to going to the movies?"

"I've never been before."

"Really? Wow, that's not good!" Hoseok looked at Yoongi, who just shrugged at him. There was no way the older male could properly explain Jungkook's situation without mentioning the wings and experiments, so instead he was just going to have to play the clueless card. "Well, Yoongi and I are going to make sure you go to plenty of movies, alright?"

"I want to watch Iron Man."

"Well when it comes out, I'll make sure we all get tickets to go see it." Hoseok smiled when he saw the boy's face light up. He felt like he'd achieved getting him to open up to him a little more ― and it was a good feeling. Especially when the boy started to smile a little after looking at Yoongi for confirmation. "Anyway, are we all ready to go?"

"Yep, and we'd better get going soon anyway or we'll be late."

"Do you want popcorn?" Yoongi asked Jungkook as they waited for Hoseok to buy the tickets. Jungkook had been staring at the food for a while, making the older male realise he hadn't eaten dinner yet and, given he'd finished his biscuits, had probably skipped breakfast and lunch as well. The boy nodded, his small tongue darting out to lick his lips. "Alright, then come with me."

They walked over to the snack bar. As they waited, they got into a small argument, bickering over whether they were going to get water or a fizzy drink. The obvious winner was Yoongi, who threatened not to buy anything if Jungkook didn't behave. This made the younger boy start sulking, but he didn't say anything further on the subject. Hoseok had bought the tickets by that point and had arrived just in time to experience this argument. He stood behind them, an amused smile on his lips as he listened to them. Their hand-holding didn't go unnoticed by him, and occasionally his gaze would drop to them when Jungkook adjust his grip or Yoongi's thumb grazed across the other's hand.

"You guys ready to go in?" Hoseok asked after all the snacks had been bought. The pair nodded and he smiled at them. He led them to the room the movie was in before taking a moment to choose the best seats. Despite the delay they'd still managed to arrive early and had most of the cinema to choose from ― it probably also helped that it was getting late in the evening and most people would be just getting home.

Once again, Jungkook was amazed by his surroundings. When they sat down, he absentmindedly ate from the box of popcorn as he twisted in his seat to look at everything. Occasionally he would tug on Yoongi's sleeve, pointing out something that would have been mundane to the older male. Especially the light projecting the advertisements onto the screen ― he liked that the most.

When the movie started, he fell silent. He was fine at first, resting lightly against the older as he focused on the show. But once the horror actually started, he started pressing his body closer to Yoongi's and jumping more and more. At one point he even pushed the popcorn out of the road and climbed into his lap. He buried his head into the older's neck, before turning it so he could still see the screen.

"Do you want to leave?" Yoongi whispered, but the boy shook his head. He just made himself comfortable in Yoongi's lap and watched the movie from the safe spot. Whenever something scared him, he hid his face in Yoongi until he thought it was over. The older male did his best to quietly comfort him, running his hand down the younger boy's back.

Jungkook managed to survive the whole movie, and Yoongi was proud of that. As they left the cinema, he told the boy that. The younger male seemed to have recovered quickly from the fright he'd received, and had even warmed up a bit more to Hoseok. They all agreed to get dinner together, after Hoseok's stomach started grumbling loudly.

"What do you want?" Yoongi asked after they'd spent a few minutes looking at the menu. Jungkook shrugged, yawning widely. "I'll buy you lamb skewers then, sound good?"

"Okay." The boy nodded. He yawned again, resting his head on Yoongi's shoulder sleepily. Hoseok watched the pair from the other side of the booth, smiling slightly at the sight.

"You two are cute." He said, turning the attention to him. The pair stared at him for a few seconds.

"He's not cute." Jungkook said first, rubbing his eyes and forcing himself off the older male. He then yawned for a third time and, even though he didn't want to, he found his head falling back down onto Yoongi's shoulder. He was too tired to hold his head up himself. "When are we going home?"

"After you've eaten. You haven't eaten all day; you need some food in that tummy." Yoongi told him, making the younger boy sigh. He closed his eyes, deciding to nap while he waited for the food to be made. Yoongi then turned to his friend. "Did you enjoy the movie?"

"Yeah. But it was a shame Jungkook had both your hands occupied ― I think I needed a hand to hold in that."

"It was pretty good, with the horror."

"I wasn't scared." Jungkook piped up, his eyes still closed. This made the older two smile and neither bothered to point out that he was the one curled up in Yoongi's lap.

"Of course, you weren't." Yoongi smiled fondly, before noticing the waitress bringing their food over. "Hey, Kookie, the food's here."

The boy's head shot up and his eyes widened instantly. "We need to eat quickly!"

When the food was placed down in front of them, the boy started digging into his lamb skewers. He was done long before the other two and spent the rest of the time watching them impatiently and picking from Yoongi's food. When they'd all finished, he was the first person up, tugging at the older male's hand as he tried to rush him to the car. In his desire to get home, his concentration was briefly taken from his wings and a pair of bumps started to appear through the jumper. But Yoongi quickly covered them up with a back hug that the younger didn't seem to appreciate much.

They then hopped into the car, and Hoseok drove the other two home. By the time they got there, Jungkook was fast asleep in the back seat. Yoongi had to carry him inside, saying goodnight to his friend on the way past.

He placed Jungkook on the bed first, pulling his jumper off as carefully as he could without waking him. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful and the boy woke up briefly. Yoongi apologised quietly, continuing to help the boy get out of the majority of his clothes. He then went to leave for his own bed when the boy gripped his arm.

"Stay with me." He ordered, his eyes beginning to droop again. "I need you close to protect you, in case you get scared because of the movie."

Realising this was a code to protect the boy's pride, Yoongi smiled and nodded.

"Thank you, Kookie, for protecting him." He climbed in the bed next to Jungkook, his smile growing as the boy snuggled close to him. His wings stretched out before wrapping around the pair. He then pressed his head close to Yoongi's chest and was soon back to sleep. Yoongi fell asleep not long after, realising why Jungkook never used a blanket and often pulled his shirt off in the night.

The embrace of his wings was surprisingly warm.

I like Jungkook when he yawns

that being said, I like Jungkook basically all of the time

But, like the pair of them, I'm going to go to bed now... I'm tired too
