chapter sixteen
Haven straddled Ezra as they attacked each other mouths; he had her by her waist as she ground against his protruding penis. He grabbed a fist full of her hair, yanking it some making her moan into his mouth turning him on some more.
He shook his head, stopping the kiss pulling away as she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"I'm trying to respect your wishes, so please get off me." He spoke, closing his eyes.
He was so annoyed because he didn't know it was this possible to be so horny.
"Who says we have to wait anymore?" Haven mumbled, making him open his eyes.
"Me." He looked at her. "You can't even talk about sex with me before you start acting weird; you're not ready."
"But I-"
"Haven, we have time. We don't have to rush into shit." He said honestly. "I'll jerk off every day- shit gets a pocket pussy or something before I ever have you regret losing your virginity to me."
"You're so sweet." She rubbed his cheek with her thumb. "It means a lot you aren't trying to force me."
"Never would I either."
"Y'all decent?" Indigo asked, knocking on the door then opening it. "Can you do my hair later?"
"What you want?"
"A few cornrolls, it's going to rain Saturday, so I'm not standing in the rain looking a hot mess."
"Do you have my cropped jacket?" Flaire asked, coming into the room.
"No." Haven lied.
"Do you have it?" She asked Indigo.
"Which one?"
"The black ripped-up one I said I wanted to customize."
"Oh, no, I don't."
"And Genesis said she doesn't have it either, so one of y'all lying, and it's going to piss me the fuck off because y'all know I hate when y'all touch my shit without asking!"
"Here she goes." Indigo rolled her eyes as Flaire walked out, getting louder and complaining.
"I'm bout to slap every bitch in here that wear the same size as me cause y'all fucking lying! I don't even give a fuck if y'all wore the fucking jacket but don't be fucking lying to me about the shit."
"Girl, why are you yelling?" Genesis asked, peeking her head out her room door.
"Imma ask everybody again since we are all in the same area." She said as Devon walked up the stairs. "Who has my black ripped-up crop jacket?"
"Girl-"
"So then Imma start going the fuck off and ruining everybody's room and watch y'all clean that shit until my jacket is fucking found!"
She walked into Indigo's room first since it was the closest; she pulled out all her dresses, making Indigo start yelling.
"And you picking all this shit up because I told you I don't have your shit!" Indigo said.
"I'm not picking shit up! I don't give a fuck what I ruin somebody get my shit before I get more pissed off and smack every single one of y'all." She said, pulling clothes from the hanger.
"Flaire, you're doing too much right now-"
"I'm not doing enough!" She cut Devon off. "We're sisters; we borrow each other shit, that's fine. I'm used to that but don't fucking hide and lie about my shit! I spent my money on that shit, it's mine and if I don't find my jacket can't nobody touch my shit ever again."
"Flaire, I have it," Haven mumbled getting it out of her drawer.
"So why the fuck you lie?" Flaire snatched it out of her hand making her jump. "I should smack the shit out of you, you grown as hell. Fuck you lying for?"
"I knew you were going to get mad and-"
"So make me more madder by lying?"
"You have your jacket now," Genesis said.
"Yeah so come clean my room because I didn't have it," Indigo added.
"I'm not doing shit." Flaire looked at her.
"Then Imma go fuck your room up." She went towards her door but Flaire got in front of it,
"Indigo, touch one thing in my room and I promise you Imma rock your world."
"You not going to do shit."
Flaire moved out her way waiting for Indigo to go but before she could walk Devon walked in front of her.
"I will clean your room Indigo," Devon said to prevent them from fighting.
He knew Flaire was upset right now and she was truly going to beat Indigo up so he wanted to prevent that. Her beating up Indigo was going to make the situation ten times worse because Indigo wasn't going to get over it.
"Don't nobody else touch my shit!" Flaire yelled slamming her down.
Haven walked in the room a little down making Ezra upset, he hated seeing her sad. He kissed her forehead then walked off to go to Flaire's room.
"You hurt her feelings." He said.
"Haven will survive," Flaire spoke preparing her sew machine.
"The way you talk to people isn't even needed, yeah she lied but you don't gotta talk to her like that especially knowing she's so sensitive."
"Ezra I don't care. She is 17! That girl knows better than to be lying about simple shit especially when I didn't ask rudely! Haven gets better grades than me, she is smarter so she needs to take responsibility for what she just did. She lucky I didn't smack her."
"You wasn't going to smack her."
"Don't tell me what the fuck I was going to do because if I wanted to who was going to stop me? You? Get the fuck out my face."
"Brah, watch who you talking to that shit doesn't mean anything. I'm trying to tell your immature ass-"
"You not trying to tell me shit because I don't give a fuck!" Flaire stood up now starting to feel offended. "I don't give a fuck what you thought you were trying to do but it ain't working, get the fuck out my room before I smack you."
"And Imma smack your ass back the fuck you mean? You trying to burn so many damn bridges because you are so fucking immature and think shit always has to go your way. That shit doesn't work over here like that no more!"
"What the fuck are you even talking about? I'm not burning any bridges that weren't already on fire. I'm not finna tell you again get out my face before I start feeling disrespected."
"Look at you can't even have a fucking conversation without getting mad and wanting to fight." Ezra chuckled. "You think you some hot shit but you not even gon make it in the real world if that's always your solution."
"Boy shut the hell up, you don't know shit that's going on with my life lately. Talking bout some damn I'm not going to make it in the real world but what about you? Nigga you just started doing your own laundry and can't cook for shit. You lucky your mother-"
She stopped herself from saying her sentence because it was going to hit deep. She and Ezra were opposites so they butted heads a lot but one thing Flaire couldn't allow herself to do was to throw up shit in his face out of anger.
"Nah, finish your sentence." Ezra chuckled already knowing what she was going to say.
"Just get out of my room," Flaire spoke sitting back down to start sewing.
Ezra stood there for a minute then walked out, Haven was in Indigo's room helping her pick up her stuff that Flaire threw around.
"Come walk me downstairs." He said now annoyed and wanting to go home.
"I'm sorry you had to argue with Flaire because of me."
"She just needs to grow the fuck up, she gon need to understand she needs to fucking change. The shit gets real old now, she not gon be shit if she doesn't wanna change."
Haven didn't say anything she let him vent because she knew Flaire and Ezra always argued and they always made up. They were like brother and sister.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She smiled hugging him.
"You want me to come to get you tomorrow?"
"Yes, if you'll like."
"Gimme kiss pretty girl." He grabbed her waist as she leaned up to connect their lips.
Walking back into the house, she was shocked to see Flaire picking up everything she knocked over. She started to help as everybody picked everything up in silence.
"I apologize for threatening to smack you," Flaire spoke. "And I apologize for throwing ya shit around."
Indigo, Devon, and Haven looked at each other in shock as she continued picking everything up.
"But you shouldn't have lied to me. You can go shopping in my closet, we all do it to each other but it's no reason to be lying to me."
"You're right." Haven nodded. "I apologize for that."
"This what I like to see! Y'all are growing!" Devon said putting Haven and Flaire in a headlock. "My damn kids!"
"If you mess up my frontal, you're paying for another one," Flaire said trying to get her head from his arm.
"Bet you I won't." He released her head.
Devon walked out as the three of them continued cleaning Indigo closet in silence.
"I think-"
"I'm going-"
"I want-"
All three girls spoke at the same time trying to break the silence, they looked at each other and smiled.
"Youngest goes first," Flaire spoke looking at Indigo.
"I think Sevyn's cheating on me."
"Why do you think that?" Haven asked.
"This girl Lani been watching everything I do but when Sevyn answers the phone in front of me she be all friendly and it's supposedly his cousin."
"Let me see her," Flaire spoke.
Indigo pulled out her phone going to her story, the girl Lani was the first one to watch her story all the time. She clicked her page then handed the phone to Flaire as she and Haven looked through her page.
"Oh, she goes to Eastside?" Flaire asked. "I remember them saying something about Sevyn messing with some girl from Eastside a few months ago."
"A few months ago?" Indigo asked. "We've been together for around a year so I need to know wassup."
"Have you done anything sexual with him?" Haven asked scared of her contracting something in case.
"He been going down on me and stuck the tip in like two times but it hurt so I stopped it."
"Did you use a condom?" Flaire asked.
"No."
"Okay, so first things first we're going to make you a GYN appointment. Actually Genesis!"
"Flaire." Indigo hit her.
"Indi, she's your guardian, they have to get her permission to even see you unless you go to a free clinic but you need to go to the actual doctor."
"Yes?"
Flaire looked at Indigo for permission to tell her, Indigo looked at Flaire and nodded her head. Genesis furrowed her eyebrows confused.
"Indigo thinks Sevyn's cheating on her and they've been doing sexual things."
"Like what?" Genesis asked.
"He went down on me and like two strokes but it hurt so I told him to stop," Indigo said rolling her eyes. "And no we didn't use a condom but I didn't think he'll be cheating on me so I know you don't have to call me dumb."
"I was never going to call you dumb," Genesis said sitting on the floor with them. "I express wearing a condom to y'all so much because it's important. Not just because of STDs or even pregnancy but who says Sevyn is even clean? No offense but there are other things that can kill your vagina without it being an STD."
"It was in the moment, I wasn't thinking."
"I know because you're human but when I lost my virginity I caught my first yeast infection because Devon and I were so young he probably wasn't even wiping after pissing."
"Dirty little boy." Flaire chuckled making Genesis pop her.
"Do you think Sevyn is cheating or do you know?" Genesis asked.
"My gut is telling me he is."
"Then he is." Flaire shrugged. "Go against anybody but yourself."
"What do I do?"
"Play dumb?" Genesis said. "Don't let him know you on to him, collect evidence to make sure you know one hundred percent then go for the kill."
"Can I actually kill him?"
"Do you want your life to be over a boy?"
"No."
"Then no."
"Fine, Haven what's your news?"
"Um." Haven stopped to rub her neck. "I know you guys may be mad at me but I asked Genesis to take me to go see Greg."
Flaire and Indigo looked at her in confusion, Indigo instantly getting mad.
"I can see your faces and before you react this is how Haven chooses to heal from this situation. You may still hold on to that anger and you can decide how you want to deal with the situation but this is how she's going to."
"I'll like to go too," Flaire said after thinking about it. "But by myself and on my own time."
"Y'all could have that shit." Indigo stood up mad and slightly betrayed. "Y'all wanna go visit the reason we don't have a mom anymore? Okay, go have fun and sing kumbaya."
"Indi-"
"This man killed our mother, our father killed our mother." She repeated slower. "Every time someone brings up her name y'all are upset and wanna fight but wanna go sit in the nigga face who's the reason bitches can even use that as a joke?"
"They're allowed to feel how they feel just as you are," Genesis said.
"I'm going to take a walk." Indigo grabbed her jacket walking out the door without saying anything else.
"What was your news?" Haven asked Flare who was still thinking about what Indigo said.
"Keygan and I anniversary is today."
"How many years?" Genesis asked.
"Eleven."
"This is the first one where we haven't been together, I'm not sad but I'm feeling a way about it."
"Do you want Keygan back?" Haven asked.
"I don't think so," Flaire spoke. "I think I'm just reminiscing about how happy we were but I can't leave out all the bad shit. We've gone through so much."
"Of course y'all did, y'all had to grow from different stages of y'all life together," Genesis said. "He has seen you as a child and as an adult, through grief and happiness. Of course, y'all were going to go through a lot."
"What happened to Ra?" Haven asked.
"He has a lot going on with his life and I just don't think we're good for each other right now considering."
"Flaire you have to understand women aren't the only ones who try to protect their abuser."
"I do understand that but I can't respect it."
"Where are you and Keygan going?" Haven asked.
"I don't know." Flaire shrugged. "He just said wear something comfortable."
"So shouldn't you be getting ready? It's almost time." Genesis looked at her apple watch showing Flaire the time.
"Messing with y'all." She shook her head standing up to finish getting dressed.

Indigo found herself walking along the side of the road pissed off, she didn't wanna go anywhere or talk to anyone. She felt betrayed.
She knew she probably was being selfish but all she had was her sisters so for them to all agree and she didn't, she felt like the outcast.
She heard a horn beeping beside her so she pulled out her taser starting to walk faster so she could go back home.
"Aye Baby Blue!" She heard making her calm down as she turned around to see Martin's car.
"What you doing out here?" Milly asked.
"Just needed to take a walk to clear my mind." She shrugged kicking the pavement.
"Hop in," Martin said as Milly got out of the front seat so she can.
"Thank you." She mumbled getting in rubbing her hands together.
"You cold?"
"A little."
Martin nodded his head-turning the heat on, he started driving towards his house making Indigo get on alert.
"You wanna get out your head, right?" He asked making her nod. "Then stick with me."
She texted the group chat containing her sisters letting them know that she'll be in the house a little bit later, she was going to be out of her head.
When she arrived at the apartment Milly and Martin shared she looked around liking the style of it, you could tell they had help decorating. It was a man's demeanor but had a women's touch.
"What do you feel like eating tonight?" Milly asked Martin looking on Ubereats.
"Our dumb asses should've got something while we were out now we gotta pay extra shit."
"Nah, I'll go pick it up. I gotta go to dollar tree real quick anyway."
"I think I'm cool with some pizza," Martin said. "You want sumn Baby Blue?"
"Pizza's fine, no nasty toppings though."
"Define nasty." Milly looked at her.
"No pineapple, no ham, no chicken and no damn olives, broccoli, basically anything green. I like peppers though."
"Alright, we agree. How do you feel about alfredo pizza though?"
Indigo looked at him then did the throwing up signal making Martin laugh as Milly looked at her like he was disgusted.
"See you had me then you lost me."
"I'll pay for my own damn pizza if you gon come in here with some damn alfredo pizza."
"He definitely knows better than to pull some shit like that," Martin said.
"Yeah aight nigga." He threw a couch pillow at him then walked into his room as Indigo sat on the couch. "So wassup with you?"
"My sisters wanna go see my dad." He said making him push his head back in confusion. "I just thought we were all on the same page about never seeing his damn face again."
"Did they say why?"
"I guess for closure but I don't understand what the hell they need closure on. He's the reason we don't have a mom, point blank period."
"Indigo, you gotta look at it like this," Martin spoke getting comfortable so he can give advice. "Your mom is gone and being mad at your dad is doing what? Nothing but holding you back because if you holding onto all that anger then you can not truly be happy."
"By forgiving my dad is just spitting on my mom's grave," Indigo spoke with tears down her face. "I can never see my mom again, I can never get woken up to birthday waffles from her, I can never see her cheering me on at a game or my competitions again. My kids won't know their grandmother."
Martin grabbed her as she started crying harder, his eyes watered a little because he felt her pain. He was only 13 years old when his mother lost her battle to sickle cell anemia after fighting it for 20 years. He recently just healed from the loss of her, he wanted to help Indigo but he wasn't sure how he could.
"Let it out, mama." He rubbed her back as she continued crying into his arms.
"I'm starting to lose the sound of her voice in my head, I don't even know how my mom sounds anymore." Indigo cried as he held her tighter starting to rock her back and forth. "I miss her so much, I miss having a mother. It hurts so much."
He let the tears he was trying to hold in go down his face as he continued holding her, he could still see his mom waking him up for school. She was a morning person so she was always cheerful in the morning and he hated it.
Oh, how he wished he could just see her smile when he woke up.
"You, not gon have all the answers today or even tomorrow but one day you will and that'll be the day you can truly heal." He told her as he rubbed her hair. "Your sisters have that answer already and that's okay because you're not on their timing. Heal for you and you only, your mother is always here Baby Blue."
Indigo didn't say anything as he used his shirt to wipe her face, it was red and puffy indicating that she was crying.
"I'm probably so ugly." She chuckled with her nose stopped up.
"You could never be." He smirked making sure his tears were wiped up too.
"Thank you for listening to me, it really means a lot."
"We friends now Baby Blue." He said making her smile.
"I have to find you a nickname."
"Babe, you in here?" They heard making both of them look towards the front door to see his girlfriend, Keyshia, at the door.
Keyshia stopped furrowing her eyebrows seeing her boyfriend hugged up with some girl, she left the door open and took her shoes off making Martin stand up. That indicated she was ready to fight and the last thing Indigo needed right now was a fight.
"Let me help you with that." He took the grocery bags out of her hand. "This is the girl I was talking to you about, Devon's little sister, Indigo. This is my girlfriend Gina."
"Nice to meet you." Indigo looked at the girl with a small smile, she was still kind of sad.
"Same to you."
"Alright, I'm finna go." Milly walked out. "Oh wassup, Gigi? You finna stay or you going back to work?"
"Nah, I'm staying here with my boyfriend." She said being petty.
Milly and Martin noticed but Indigo was oblivious because her mind was a thousand places, she hadn't cried in a long time. That was long overdue.
"You planned on cooking?" Marvin asked looking through the bags.
"Yeah, remember I told you I wanted to make ziti."
"Bet, don't gotta get no damn pizza now," Milly said. "I'll be back though, I still gotta go to dollar tree."
"Can you take me home?" Indigo asked.
"You leaving? You ain't got to." Martin said making Gina look at him.
"Yeah, don't let the party end cause I'm here."
"After everything, I'm tired. I just wanna go to sleep and cuddle with my blankets."
"What's everything?" Gina asked.
"Martin just helped me through my problems." Indigo smiled at him. "I just noticed y'all names are Martin and Gina, that's so cute."
Gina raised an eyebrow taking it as she was being funny when Indigo literally found it cute.
"Hm," Gina responded walking towards Martin's room.
"You ready?" Milly asked making Indigo nod as she grabbed her phone.
"Thank you so much for letting me soak your shirt." She chuckled as he smirked.
"No problem, text me when you get in the house." He hugged her. "Actually let me walk you out."
He walked her to Milly's car opening her car door, he made sure she was in then tapped the top of the car going back in the house to see Gina sitting on the couch with her arms folded.
"You're so cute." He smiled walking towards her to kiss her but she stopped him.
"Why do you have bitches here?"
"Why are you calling her out her name?" He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "I can have whoever the hell I want here, this is my damn house."
"Not no fucking bitches! You have a girlfriend."
"You say that to remind yourself? Because I know that and as you can see so does Indigo. That girl got a damn boyfriend of her own. She was having a bad day and I bought her here to take her mind off of it if you would've walked in two minutes earlier you would've seen her break down."
"Hm, hopefully, this little friendship is not a problem."
"Okay, Gina." He chuckled standing up to go take a shower.
She grabbed his phone to look through his text with Indigo, when she didn't see anything bad in their messages she just put his phone down and started to watch tv.
She was definitely going to watch this little friend.
