I woke up on the bench, I sat up. I rubbed my eyes. I hear bird chirping gleefully. I got up to stretch and I grabbed my bag. I started walking down the road, I see horses being outside.
They are neighing and snorting. I look over and I see someone staring at me. I looked at them then continued to walk. I see a little girl running to the lake from her house.
"Sorry, Miss," she said. I nodded and smiled. I continued walking and I see a diner. I went inside and it looks like a nice little place. "May I help you?" someone asked.
"Hi, may I speak to your owner?" I asked. "You are looking at her. I am Maggie," she said. "Do you have any job opening?" I asked.
"Actually, I am looking for a busser. Do you have experience?" she asked. "Yes, I do. I use to be a bus girl since I was fourteen," I said. "Good, I'll give you a test today. Name?" she asked.
"Isabelle or Belle," I said. "I'll call you Belle. Where did you move from?" she asked. "Chicago," I said. "That's a long ways. Welcome to Russeltown," she said.
Maggie gives me an apron. I put it on and tied it around me. "So this is Terri, Heather, and Nathan," Maggie said. They nodded as they waved.
"Now we just have a table that left and needs to cleaned off then wiped down," she said. "Okay. I grabbed a tub to make get the dishes then I'll show you where to take them," she said.
I nodded I started cleaning off the table, putting the dishes in the tub. Maggie lead me to the back area. "This is where you will bring the dishes and our washer, Ricky will take care of it," Maggie said.
I nodded, setting the tub down. "Now go spray the table and dry it off with a rag. I nodded as she gives me the spray and rag. I went back to the table. I started spraying the table then wiping it off then cleaned off the booths.
"Impressive. By the 2pm rolls around, we will see if you get the job or not. How does that sound?" Maggie asked. "Sounds good to me," I said, smiling.
"Good, now you ask some of the customers if there's any dishes that you need to take out," Maggie said. I nodded as I went to do what Maggie told me.

I am going door to door of my neighbors if they seen Isabelle. "Have you seen this woman?" I asked. "May I see that closely?" he asked. He looks at the picture closely. "No, I haven't," he said.
"Are you sure?" I asked. "Positive," he said. "Thank you, Mr. Chang," I said. I went next door. I knocked on the door. They opened the door.
"Sorry to both you guys, have you see this woman?" I asked, showing a picture. "Now, we haven't seen her," the woman said.
"Okay, thank you," I said, leaving. I sighed as I keep getting frustrated. I went across the street and knocked on Mrs. Smith's door.
She opens the door. "Good morning, Mrs. Smith," I said. "Yes?" Joni said, as she steps outside. "Have you seen this woman?" I asked.
"May I see that?" she asked. I gave it to her. She looks at it. "No, I haven't seen her," she said. "Well she's new to the town," I said.
"Oh yeah?" she asked. "Yeah, but I have not seen her though," she said. "Well thanks for your time, Mrs. Smith," I said, leaving.

I've been in Russeltown for a week now. I just met a realtor. She's showing the house that I wanted to look at. "Hi, are you Belle?" she asked.
"Yes, you must me Samantha," I said. "One and only. Ready to look inside?" she asked. I nodded as she unlocked the door. We looked inside and I looked around. "How is this place from town?" I asked.
"Its about a ten minute walk from the public. Russeltown is a small country town. WHat made you move here?" Samantha asked. "Needed a fresh start," I said.
"Good, good. Where you from?" she asked. "Chicago," I said. "Well this house is a good fit for you. Its fully furnished," she said. I nodded as I saw the bedroom.
"Its got wood floors, working water. Not far from town," Samantha said. I heard a creaking. "Careful this house is nearly 100 years old but its had potential and a fixer upper," she said.
I stepped outside as I hear bugs chirping "I'll take it," I said, smiling. "Now let's fill this form out and it will be all yours," she said.
I sighed the papers and got my keys. "You are a homeowner," she said, smiling. "Thank you so much," I said, smiling.
I stayed outside as the Samantha left. I smiled softly and sighed. I went back inside and shut the door. I sat down on my bed.
Later that night, I was sleeping in my bed. I was having flashback of what happen with Dustin. I gasped softly as I woke up. I went to make sure the door was locked and the windows were shut.
I felt my foot going through the floor. I yelped as I fell. "Fuck!" I said, getting my foot out as the floor broke. I turned the light on and I have a couple of splinters in my foot.
I grabbed tweezers to get them out. I threw them away. I looked how big the hole is. I grabbed a ruler and measured each side to get the floors fixed. I wrote it down.
Next morning...
I woke up and got dressed. I headed to over to that general store that the bus stopped at. I went inside, grabbing a basket. I looked around. I see a little girl on the edge of the boat.
"Tinsley, get back on the dock. I don't want you to get hurt," I see a owner yelling. Tinsley gets back on the dock. "Sorry, Daddy," she said.
I grabbed some stuff but I don't see anything to fix floors. I went up the counter. I see two kids coming up. "Hi," they said. "Hi. Are your parents around?" I asked.
"No, but we can help," the boy said. "Um do you have paint and things to fix floors?" I asked. "Actually we have a book of colors," the girl said.
"I'll get Daddy, see if he knows about food floors," the boy said. "Thank you," I said. The boy runs to get their dad. "What are you painting and fixing?" she asked.
"I am gonna paint my kitchen to brighten it up and I gotta fix a floor that broke," I said. The girl giggles and laughs at me. "What's funny?" I asked, trying not to laugh.
"How can you break a floor with a foot?" she asked. "Well the house I moved in has very old floors and I need to find someone to fix it," I said.
"Ohh careful with those," she said. "So what color do you think I should my kitchen?" I asked. "Blue," she said. "Blue?" I asked. "Just like the skies," she said.
"Well I will go for that color," I said. "I'll go it the booklet. I am Zara and my brother is Zac," she said. "Hi, Zara. I am Belle," I said. Zara walked off.
"Daddy, there's the girl," Zac said. I look over and I see the guy. He taller than I remember. "Your still here?" he asked. "Yes, I am still here," I said, smiling.
"I'll get you checked out," he said. "Oh thank you," I said. "Usually people come and go because some people don't like small country towns," he said.
"Well I actually loved it as soon as I got off the bus," I said. "Found it," Zara said, holding the book. "Zara..," he paused.
"She needs it," Zara said. "Oh you painting something?" he asked. "Yes, my kitchen and do you know anyone that can fix a floor?" I asked.
"Yes, we have a contractor that you call then can help you," he said, writing their number down. "Thank you," I said. He rings up the things I bought.
"That will be $20 even," he said. I paid him. "Here you go," I said. "Well hopefully you stop by again," he said. I nodded, grabbing the stuff.
"Oh you can take this color booklet with you and pick your color," he said. "I will stop by again," I said, smiling. "Bye Belle," Zara said.
"Bye," I said, smiling. I headed out the door.
