Poems about Nature

TREES

Let's talk about trees

And the unmarked lines

Where our names

Will someday live

That strip of life

In paradise

The world has

Forced to disappear

Such things are done

For no reason

Except for careless greed

And fear

But we all will

Carve the flesh

So we feel

We had a purpose

Here

A DANCE IN ICE

Muddled chirps vibrate off hollow walls

A distant cave inviting in the winter's chalk

Etched on wings of sinister crows

A family of vultures to the cold

A scene a White Witch once foretold

The birds all huddled up for warmth

A daily kiss through nightly storms

Earth and fire hibernate and soon recoil

A sea of goslings in a brawny nest

A scene the spring will soon digest

As winter's face starts to recede

All of nature will soon begin to breed

Return to chirping normally
