Silence

That's what surrounds Alice and Hannah as they creep though the dense woodland, making sure not to step on anything as to give away their position. They had just managed to shake a few stray zombies off of their trail, now trying to sneak through the forest without attracting a hoard of them.

It's only been a few months since the outbreak of zombies but the population of the earth has decreased rapidly. Scientists had tried to recreate a formula for reversing cancer, but once the willing patient was injected with the serum he began to have a very rare seizure. His skin turned ghastly pale and his pupils became a very unnatural white, that one man began the zombie apocalypse, beginning an era of death and despair. Hannah and Alice are some of the very few survivors that had survived up to this point, barely escaping from their high school when the plague of zombies reached South Australia. Now on the run from zombie hoard after zombie hoard, Alice and Hannah now wander aimlessly throughout a forest.

"Do you think we'll make it through this?" Alice asks Hannah out of the blue as they continue to walk cautiously.

"Totally, we're survivors. We've made it this far" Hannah replies as she shoves a tree branch out of her face. Suddenly the two 16 year olds girls hear a noise, a movement in the bushes. Hannah and Alice both instantly stand in a defensive position trying to prepare against another attack of zombie. The rustling becomes louder as the creature comes closer and closer. Suddenly a human-sized creature emerges from a group of bushes and both girls jump back as the creature pulls out a very sharp, very pointy sword and points it at them. The creature pants as if it had run a marathon as the girls get a good look at him. It's a boy about their age maybe a year older; he's a head taller than Hannah and about two inches taller than Alice. His face is covered with a faded black bandana and his shaggy brown hair spikes up in all different angles underneath a black hood pulled up over his head. The black  leather jacket he wear has multiple different sixed cuts torn into the fabric, his dirt-covered black trousers seem to be in good condition and one of the laces on his Nike sneakers has come undone. He pulls down his bandana revealing his face.

"You two alone?" he asks in a raspy voice, glancing around as he does. Hannah nods.

"You bit?" he asks as he lowers his sword, sliding it into his belt and Hannah shakes her head. The boy looks them over for a second before jerking his head in the direction he came from, climbing back through the bush. When Alice and Hannah don't follow him he pokes his head back through the bush and says "come on." Hannah and Alice follow him through the bush. Soon after about ten minutes they come to an open area of the forest. The boy lets out some sort of animal sound and more rustling sounds can be heard from the bushes and trees surrounding the field. Suddenly another boy appears from a bush and a girl drops from a tree, walking up to the boy and whispering in hushed voices. The girl glances at the other two girls and walks over to them. She's shorter than both of them and her raven hair is pulled back in a ponytail, her red turtle neck sweater and black pants are covered in twigs and leaves and the black bandana wrapped around her neck is covered in leaves. Leather straps are buckled around her thighs and a small pouch sits comfortably on the side of her right leg, something sticking out of it.

"Hey the name's Sophery[So-pear-ree]. That guy that brought you here is Tye and the other is Brad. If you're cool with Tye, then you're cool with me" she introduces herself in a chill voice

"But if you betray us or end up be a two timer for the Rouges then I'll not hesitate to rip you in half slowly and painfully" she adds threateningly turning away and talking to the boys again

"Well she seems nice" Alice says sarcastically out the side of her mouth to Hannah, who giggles in response. The boy who saved them, 'Tye' Sophery had called him, turns back to Hannah and Alice and grunts "follow me" moving in what Hannah and Alice assume to be north with Sophery and Brad following him. Hannah and Alice glance at each other and Hannah shrugs her shoulders following the three strangers. Alice huffs and follows her friend muttering sarcastically.

"Here we go"
