|One| observant introvert

you look so broken when you cry,
one more and then I say goodbye

What is the one thing Nara hates besides awkward encounters?

Any sort of encounters.

Nara was an introvert, through and through, proud to be one and didn't care much to socialize with anyone else. Although she'd often be found engaging in little actions such as clapping or cheering for someone, or maybe sharing a smile, or just a little sigh here and there. But no extreme reactions. She was tagged as the chilled girl out of the others in class and she didn't even want to correct it.

Nara knew she was anything but chilled, however, she had zero energy to change the way others viewed her and hence she stuck to what she did best. Being an observant introvert.

Although, Nara may have been the silent sniper of the Jung family, So-cheol, her twin, was the grenade. The boy with dark brown hair, features handsomely gifted to him through their father and social skills that could win him anyone's attention. He was the butterfly to Nara's cocoon and in contrast, the twins were never a match to each other.

Nara was eldest, she was born three minutes older to So-cheol, something she never brought up and So-cheol hardly considered her as the eldest. Although, both of them knew who was truly the matured and who held an higher emotional quotient. The long black hair Nara inherited from her mother were dyed brown in spite and although she tried her best to hide it, her eyes would always be known as Sae-bom's hereditary gift to her daughter.

It was true that Nara and So-cheol were fraternal twins yet they looked very similar to their parents. So-cheol had stepped on his father's shoes and Nara represented the bold Sae-bom. Maybe that's why when their parents divorced they chose the opposite gender, because it reminded them of their significant other.

"Nara, you need to finish your breakfast. You hardly eat anything." Yi Hyun was Nara's friend first and then her father, she looked up at him and he smiled at her. "Now that you're going to undergo training at school, I think it's best for you to eat healthy and eat everything. Aarachi?"

Nara nodded, eyeing the food she had cooked whilst getting up early everyday. Her father was a police detective, and head of the department too so his shifts were mostly irregular and always exhausting and being alone at home gave Nara plenty of time to cook for the two of them.

"Appa, now that I'm going to be at school," Nara glanced at the consent form sitting on the dining table. "You gotta take care of yourself, Ahjussi."

Yi Hyun chuckled, he was tired from the late night shift he had but Nara was going to be at school for the entire quarter and he didn't want to miss the last breakfast with her. He had already missed a lot of things and within a snap Nara had grown up.  Yi Hyun sat across from Nara, their house was a little one on the corner of the street, walkable distance from her school.

While Nara ate the gimbap, Yi Hyun eyed the huge sphere in the sky which he could see from the little window. Unlike the rest of the world who let go of the very mysterious spheres that just overnight spread across the globe, he was one anxious father who'd always keep an eye on those. Yi Hyun was in close contacts with the Army, the police force squad, the upper ministers and all of it was owing to his wife who was a commander in the SOL force. Well ex-wife, Yi Hyun gulped in sheer guilt and watched the sphere with caution.

Although he wasn't certain, he had heard about a rumor that mentioned one of the spheres causing a fatal accident and that recruitment for the Army were in speedy form. He also knew that the school was training kids for any unforeseen danger that could rack the world and he was glad Nara wanted to join the programme. She never was the one to back down, just like her mother.

Yi Hyun smiled, this time he watched Nara gobble up the gimbap like a little kid.

"Nara, here." Yi Hyun placed a pager in her hand, a very old wretched device which made Nara question the thing in hand. "Knowing the training and the commanders, you won't be getting access to your cell phone so page me if anything goes wrong and your Appa is going to swoop in."

"Swoop in? Like a bird?"

"Like an Appa bird."

Nara smiled, the first one of that day and Yi Hyun could only hope that the smile remains.

"OMMA!" The loud sheers and chilling voice made Sae-bom's heart to almost explode, because her son was calling out to her. "OMMA HERE." He cried out to her.

Sae-bom was cleaning her pistol in the balcony and clutched the gun immediately, pulling off the safety and walking towards her son's bedroom. She was always on her toes when anyone yelled danger but it caused jitters when it came to her family.

Sae-bom rushed towards the slightly ajar door and pointing the gun upwards, hoping it was not one of her nightmares coming true, she kicked the door open. But of course, she should have known her 18 year old was hardly capable of being sane because he was sitting in a pile of his books and screaming at her to find one of the books.

"YA So-cheol." Saebom immediately put her gun on safety and grabbed her son's ear, twisting it as he yelped in pain. "How many times do I have to tell you that you need to stop scaring me!" She let go of his ear when he begged for her to leave and he stood up, rather rubbing his right ear.

"Well, the final assignment is today, and I need the book." He replied, pouting while Sae-bom glared at her son, both her kids had inherited the height from their parents and So-cheol was almost taller than her. "This is scary! I may lose marks."

"What about my sanity? Which I will lose if you keep yelling out like its an emergency for every single thing." Sae-bom shook her head at him as she got on the floor to gather the cluttered books which So-cheol helped to pack. "So-cheol-ah, I am telling you, if you keep yelling my name all the time, how am I to distinguish between what is important and what is not?" She packed his bag as So-cheol looked at his mother.

"Appa said that I need to yell out for the two of you even when its the most minor problem..." So-cheol voiced his sad thought and he could see his mother's smile fading. Instead she gulped, quickly packing the bag and they stood up. "Mian-he Omma..." So-cheol did not like whenever his mother dwelt into the past and he was stupid to remind her of that. "I overdid this time, didn't I?"

"jogeumman," Sae-bom pressed her thumb and her finger, a cute little pout which lit up So-cheol's face. "Aniyo, I think not getting your assignment is probably worrisome. Where is it?" She enquired while So-cheol ran his hand through his hair, day by day he reminded her of her ex-husband especially with his smile.

"I just remembered, Tae-man took it. That idiot never returns my books." So-cheol exclaimed, as he picked his bag, "anyway, gotta go, running late to school." He kissed her cheek in a flash taking Sae-bom by surprise and before she knew it, he was waving rather yelling goodbye and heading to the door. "Eat your lunch on time, don't wait up... I'll see you in three months..."

"Three months?" Sae-bom frowned, yelling at her son, "what do you mean?" She knew nothing about any three month plan.

So-cheol froze, biting his tongue, "Omma, I am really late, talk to Appa about this. He signed the consent forms... Umkay bye..." He blew her a kiss and rushed out only for Sae-bom to remain in the huge house with a lonely sigh.

What consent forms? What three months plan?

She shook her head, dialing her husband's cell which was still saved in the favourite list and nonchalantly looked out the window. Either she was delusional, or the purple sphere looked too closer than what it was at dawn. Tilting her head, she focused on the array of purple spheres in the sky, one of them staring right at her and she almost saw the sphere moving from within. Her hand immediately held on to the gun she had in her pocket and before she could investigate any further, the voice of Yi Hyun diverted her.

Headache and heartache were both at battle.
