When the sun shines, we'll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out to the end
"Nara, you stay here with her, and I'll go get your Omma and the others. Arachi?"
"But-"
"I'm not risking you back there, peanut." Yi Hyun held her hand, ignoring Nara's puppy eyes. "Take care of the lady, and don't open the door for anyone."
"Aaraseo."
With that and a forehead kiss, Yi Hyun was back on the streets, shutting the door behind him while Nara sighed. She hated this fear of seeing her beloveds dead, and more than that, the thought of her not defending or helping them. Nevertheless, she trusted her father and he was true to his word, so she made her way to the injured woman who sat against the wall.
The moment the bloodied arm of the woman crept out, Yi Hyun and Nara helped her out and with whatever they could find in the house, they bandaged the wound on her arm. It was a gunshot, although it had only touched her, it still ached. Once the woman was bandaged, she stayed with soft whimpers in the corner, unable to speak in fright and fear.
"Unnie," Nara didn't know her age, although she looked older than her but not old enough. "Does it hurt a lot? Do you need anything?" Nara asked, kneeling in front of the woman.
The woman didn't reply, rather kept her eyes shut and held her arm as tightly as she could to erase the hell she was going through. Nara was not a people's person and hence communication to strangers wasn't easy to her, so she respected the woman's silence and stood by the window. Yi Hyun had instructed her to pull the curtains, yet Nara had her eyes fixated on the road.
All she wanted was her mom and her brother to be here, along with all her classmates in the car.
Nara was tapping her feet impatiently, unable to hold her patience even when it was hardly five minutes. All the worse scenarios ran through her head.
Yi Hyun getting attacked by a sphere and dying.
Saebom and the others getting killed in the car.
Or worse, all of them dead and she's here alone.
She hated the thought, not only was she mad at this entire situation she was also mad at herself. The last thing she did with her mother was fight, and she never reciprocated any of her offers to hangout or dine. It had been a year since Yi Hyun and she had arrived back to Korea from the states, but not once did Nara go hug her mother.
She was angry at her mother for choosing her twin. Angry at her mother for leaving her, when she was just as small as So-cheol. Angry at her twin for snatching the one person Nara loved and adored.
There was no doubt that Nara loved her father, but she was her mother's daughter through and through.
Just being them safe, she pleaded to the universe, and she'll hug them all.
"Hey, brown hair," The woman said, almost incoherent if it wasn't for the silence in the room.
Nara turned to face the woman, "Yes?"
"Can you give me water to drink?" She pleaded and Nara pulled the curtain, approaching the hurt woman. "Just one drop."
"Mian-hayeo," Nara felt terrible to see the woman thirsty, but she had nothing to give. "The water is back in the car."
And then there was silence again.

Yi Hyun reached the jeep cautiously, the rest of the clan sighing in relief on seeing the familiar figure return. The first thing So-cheol did was hug his father, getting out of the car and leaping on him. Saebom and Yi Hyun glanced at each other, the latter had no idea what was happening to all of them.
"Appa where were you?" So-cheol was both relieved and upset, "we thought..." The rest of the kids could take a relaxing breath and Saebom shut her eyes, this was scarier than the last time they were in an apocalypse.
"Mian," Yi Hyun held his ear, touching his son's cheek, more so in admiration to see his son worried for him. "We gotta go, there's this house a block awa-" Yi Hyun stopped, the familiar hissing sound and snarls were approaching them. "Get in the car."
"But Appa!"
Yi Hyun took no time to open the door and push So-cheol inside, shutting it. Sae-bom and the kids were on the edge of their seats, with the way Yi Hyun's rifle aimed everywhere.
"Are they here again?" Ae-sol asked, shutting her ears, "please... Please...." She was comforted instantly by the Prez, even when they were all scared. Tae-man and Wo-taek were holding their breath, Kim Chi-yeol readying his gun.
Saebom had a hand over So-cheol, holding him back whilst worrying for Hyun who was asking them to leave. But they wouldn't budge, Saebom had to take a decision now.
And then the gun shots were fired, deafening them, Ae-sol buried her head in her lap, the others nervously watching Yihyun fight and kill a bunch of spheres. "Sae, leave with the kids." Hyun said, shooting a bunch of spheres, "I'll keep them distracted and you'll can leave. Jebal."
The moment Yi Hyun shot a few of them, Sae-bom took the rifle, loading it and looked at the scared kids and terrified So-cheol.
"So-cheol," Sae-bom looked at her son, she handed him the car keys from the ignition, "drive the car and move, take a turn from the second block-"
"But Omma-"
More gunshots were fired. Yi Hyun was trying his best to kill those creatures. Saebom had no time to waste, she eyed her son. "Yoon So-cheol, you're son of a commander, get yourself together, drive the car and get your friends to safety. Don't turn back." So-cheol nervously shifted ahead of the seats, meanwhile Sae-bom shot the spheres that she could spot. "Saranghe, Omma loves the both of you." She shut the door, and stood besides Yi Hyun, shooting already.
So-cheol was anxious, but he had to do this for his classmates and for Nara who was alone at some house. He wiped the tears that fell, and pushed the accelerator, getting away from the couple who were aggressively shooting the spheres.
He cried as he moved past his parents, fighting side by side while the spheres kept coming at them. One hit the glass window, scaring Ae-sol, but Yihyun shot it, waving them a goodbye and running away with Saebom as the car sped through the empty road.
"I'll be waiting." So-cheol whispered, driving away and didn't turn back. He didn't have the heart to see anything happen to his parents. "I'll be waiting."
With that, the car was gone out of sight, the duo stranded with a bunch of spheres who just wouldn't stop multiplying.
_
"Why did you jump out of the car?" Hyun was upset at his wife, she was standing on the top of the deserted car and kept shooting the spheres from the distance. "Sae!"
"We're a team," Saebom replied, killing the spheres, one by one. "We did this before, we can do this again." Hyun looked at her, ignoring what a turmoil they were in at the present moment.
"There's a bunch of them running towards us, hardly ammunition left." Saebom said, Yi Hyun shooting the ones on the ground. The gunshots kept getting all the other spheres, making this an endless loop. "Ottuke?"
Yi Hyun looked around, there were a bunch of cars but their state was miserable. The bike at the other side of the road caught his attention, maybe they could overtake them and get somewhere else. "Sae, cover me?"
Saebom looked at him, "is that even a question." She raised her eyebrow, shooting the spheres around Yi Hyun as he rushed towards the bike parked under the shade of the tree, out of sight. Sae-bom yelled at the spheres, taking them all on her so Hyun could take his time.
"YA DAISEKYAAAAA. COME GET MEEEE." She yelled, panting as she stood on the roof of the car. "I AM HEREEEE." It was working, the spheres around Hyun were now spiraling towards her, each faster than the other making it difficult for Saebom to handle them all. Any time and she'd be dead, so she kept shooting.
The rifle ran out of bullets and she almost lost her life when a sphere launched at her, but got disintegrated into nothingness when Yi Hyun shot it, zooming around on the bike he got. "Sae," He shot the rest of the spheres around them, "jump."
He took her hand and Saebom got on the bike, taking Yi Hyun's rifle and shooting the rest of the spheres while speeding away towards the opposite side. They didn't want the spheres to enroute to where the kids were, this was the only way to dodge them.
And they drove into the darkness.
