Sometimes I read stories to keep me from feeling down

Not to mention reading some funny comics to prevent me from doing a frown

I block off all doubts that are coming at me while I sleep

Ignoring the harsh comments and criticism that cuts me so deep

I see everything that's bright and happy

Because I can make through anything that is dark and gloomy
