Kaneki's POV

He said he loved me. He gave me my first kiss.

I sat on my bed and stared at the ground. Could this ruin friendship? Would I possibly snap and hurt him again? Could I being him danger or could he bring me danger? Questions rang through my mind as I thought of the events that occurred in the past few hours. I touched my cheeks when I felt something slide down them and I wiped the tears quickly.

"Damn it!" I sobbed as I brought my knees up and stared at the TV. More ghouls binging... But Rize had died. Were there others who binged? Was Hide out right now? I reached for the phone and dialed his number as I gripped it when it went to voicemail.

"Hide," I whispered as I slid on my shoes and coat and ran outside, the cold night air instantly hitting me, I felt raindrops as it started slow but went faster. I splashed in puddles, the water leaking through my shoes as I pulled my hood up over my head and I stopped at the sweet smell... Blood... I slowly walked towards it and looked down the alley. The orange hair...

"Hide," I whispered. He gripped his arm and tears brimmed his eyes as the ghoul faced him with its Kagune out.

"Hide," I choked and took a step forward. His blood stained his jacket, dripped to the ground and turned water pink as it mixed together.

"This is my meal!" The ghoul spat at me and I clenched my hands up into fists. Not now...

"Go!" He hit me and I rolled along the ground as the eye patch snapped off and I caught my reflection in a puddle as the ghoul eye was activated. He hurt Hide... I stood up and dodged the Kagune, sliding down my jacket it ripped and I felt a slight trickled of blood.

"Kaneki..." I looked at Hide in shock. His eyes were widened and I saw the figure move behind him.

"HIDE!" My voice rang out as I know I lost it... The kagune cut the ghoul deeply and I glared down at the blood when Hide gasped.

"He's not your food," my body was trembling, not from cold but from anger.

"He's my friend... And the only person I love!" I spat when the Kagune whipped around and things crashed.

"Kaneki..." I looked to the right to see a shocked Hide and my eyes widened as I touched the ghoul eye.

"Hide," I whispered and fell to my knees in the blood and water soaked ground as tears dripped down my face.

"I'm a monster!" I sobbed and I felt arms wrap around me.

"You aren't a monster," I looked up and he smiled at me. His smile faded as he collapsed into my body and I touched his back, instantly feeling warm blood.

"Hide..." I whispered as I lifted him up and gripped him as his eyes were closed. I stumbled out of the alley and gulped. He needed a hospital... I could say we were attacked by ghouls... Yeah that's it... I ran down the half deserted street towards the nearest hospital as his breathing was faint.

"Hide you'll be fine," I felt more tears down my face as the rain pelted harder, making the blood slowly drip from my clothes to the ground. The aroma drifting into the hair and I watched the hospital lights come into view.
