Jungkook's phone is ringing nonstop and there are so many people in and out of his office dropping of paperwork that he loses count.
He tries his best to keep a positive attitude with the people working under him and he tries not to be short tempered but that's extremely hard when he's trying to do so many things at once.
"Mr. Jeon, Mr. Kang got back to us about the deal in Japan, should I send his call through?" Secretary Cho asks from the doorway.
"Uh...yeah. Go ahead." He says shooting her a smile even though he feels like his head is going to explode.
She disappears and his phone rings a few moments later.
"Mr. Kang, it's good to hear from you again." Jungkook says in a fake cheery tone as he types up stuff onto his computer.
"Mr. Jeon," Secretary Cho reappears. "Vice President Lee would like to speak with you."
Jungkook holds up a finger as Mr. Kang goes on about something on the other line.
"Yes, our representatives could meet you in Japan next Saturday for sure." Jungkook says grabbing a pen and scribbling the date down. "Thanks again, Mr. Kang. Take care."
He ends the call and turns back to his computer.
"Mr. Jeon? Vice President Lee?" Cho says still standing in the door way.
"I'm busy, is it urgent?" He asks checking the time before refocusing on the never ending document he was overviewing.
"I'll tell him to return later."
"I'm leaving by seven." Jungkook says.
"You have a meeting over the phone with the head director at eight." Cho reminds. "He can't reschedule."
Jungkook huffs pressing his fingers into the bridge of his nose. "Yeah, I know. Leave me alone for a bit so I can finish this please."
She bows and exits the room silently.
Jungkook's mother had hired Secretary Cho and her intentions were obvious.
She was a bright young woman with a beautiful smile and fair complexion, who wouldn't be attracted to her? She had her head screwed on right and had high expectations for herself and her future.
But none of that meant anything to Jungkook, you see, part of being gay means you aren't attracted to women.
No one should have to explain that, right? It's obvious, a given, literally the definition of gay. But try explaining that to Jungkook's mother who thought Jungkook would snap out of it if the right girl came along.
Jungkook was nearly 22 years old and his mother was still trying to control his life.
His phone vibrates on his desk with a message from Taehyung.
Taehyungie 💜: Hobi's taking me. I'll be back before you, don't work yourself to death and leave me lonely ❤️
Jungkook smiles at the message, some of the tension leaving his shoulders as he types his response.
Junggoo 💜: be careful i love you
Taehyungie 💜: love you more
"Um, Mr. Jeon." Cho says cautiously from the door way.
"It hasn't even been two minutes." Jungkook says looking up at her.
"I'm sorry." She bows apologetically. "There's a Ms. Kim here to see you."
Jungkook tilts his head. "Do you know how many Kims there are in the world?"
"I don't." She responds.
"Go find out." He says returning to his computer.
"I will. Should I send her in?" Cho asks.
Jungkook sighs fixing his hair that's been ruined from running his fingers through it all day. "Yes, go ahead."
She nods leaving to go get Ms. Kim.
Jungkook barely types another word before the door is opening and a familiar young lady poked her head in.
"Jungkook-ah!" Haeun exclaims coming inside.
"Haeun-noona?" Jungkook says in confusion as he stands.
"Are you surprised to see me?" She laughs stopping in front of his desk.
"Very. Why are you here?" Jungkook asks
"I was in the process of transferring here as the Head Director's new Secretary. I had no idea you were the CEO. What were you doing trying to become a stock broker?" Haeun asks with a curious smile.
"Its a long story." Jungkook says trying not to let his smile falter.
"It's strange, we seem to have some type of fate in life." She laughs. "Maybe we'll always meet up everywhere we go."
Jungkook chuckles. "Yeah, it's strange."
"I know you're extremely busy doing CEO things so I'll leave you alone. But we have to go out for a drink or something some day." She says heading to the door.
"Yeah, definitely." Jungkook says, mostly agreeing to be polite. "See you around then Noona."
"Bye." Haeun laughs leaving the office finally.
Jungkook sits back in his chair, before he can even exhale his phone rings again.
"Stop sending the calls through, Cho! For the love of god!"

"Hobi." Taehyung whines pulling his friends arm as he tries to walk away.
"Tae." He whines back turning to him. "We've been looking around this place for forever, let's go look somewhere else."
Taehyung pouts and huffs crossing his arms.
"Don't do that, it's even uglier now that you're older." Hoseok says giving in and walking back into the store.
Taehyung smiles at his accomplishment before returning to look for Jungkook's birthday gift.
Despite everything going on he hadn't forgotten Jungkook's birthday and he wanted to get him the best gift he could think of.
The only problem is he couldn't think of anything.
So he had been looking around a jewelry store for the past hour trying to choose something Jungkook would like.
Jungkook wasn't a very materialistic person so it was nearly impossible to shop for him.
When it came to Taehyung it was easy, he love jewelry and clothes and anything that was soft, fluffy, or cute, but Jungkook, he didn't like anything.
That's why Taehyung had just got him gifts that were more funny than thoughtful, at lest he could see him cringe or laugh at the things he got him, like his cat hoodie.
"Hobi." Taehyung says turning to the other who has a bored look on his face.
"Did you find something?" He asks walking over.
"Hobi?" He says in more of a questioning tone.
Hoseok hums looks at the two matching bracelets. "You like them?"
Taehyung pulls out his phone, Hoseok does too to see what he has to say.
Ttttae: are couples bracelets too childish?
"I don't know any children that can afford these bracelets so no, I don't think so. Let's go for it." Hobi says making Taehyung smile excitedly.
They get the man behind the counter to get the bracelets out and box the one meant for the male, Taehyung personally liked that one better but he figured he'd let Jungkook have it since he is the more masculine one in the relationship.
"Can we eat now? I'm hungry, and I miss my boyfriend so let's get it to go." Hoseok says leading the way to a food place on the strip.
Taehyung rolls his eyes and follows him towards the place.
While Hobi orders he looks down at Jungkook's gift and he smiles a little, next week was his birthday and he wanted him to be happy that day.
He knew it was probably impossible to get Jungkook the day off but he still wanted to make his night wonderful.
After they get their food Hobi takes Taehyung to his apartment where they watch a movie with Taeil and eat.
Even though Taehyung remembers part of that night he doesn't want to accuse Taeil of anything until they talk about it, and since he's in no position to talk he's been trying to write out his questions without sounding like he was pointing fingers.
He wasn't scared of Taeil, he was his friend after all. Just because he was the last person he remembers talking to doesn't mean he was necessarily involved, right?
And even if he was, there had to be a reasonable explanation, because Taeil wasn't a bad person and he definitely wouldn't hurt Taehyung.
Taehyung frowns a little, there he goes again seeing the good in everyone.
"You okay?" Taeil asks when he sees Taehyung's frown, making Hobi look over at him.
He smiles and nods before focusing back on the TV and eating.
Once he gets his questions in order he'll definitely confront Taeil, until then he would just let it be.
