Jungkook checked his watch again for the hundredth time throughout the meeting he was having with one the media directors from another subsection of another business family in Korea.
He had left Taehyung home alone to attend the meeting and he has been worried since he left.
"So, Mr. Jeon." The man says sitting down across from him. "Are you currently seeing anyone?"
Jungkook hesitated for a moment before answering. "I'm not."
If news got out that he was engaged to Taehyung his mother surely wouldn't happy and he didn't want to risk anything happening to Taehyung because of him again.
"Well, if you are interested, I have a daughter around your age that would love to meet you." The ash haired man says.
"Thank you, Mr. Bin, but I'm not interested in finding a woman." Jungkook says, his patience with the man wearing thin.
"I understand, but if you marry well you will do much better in the future. And I did some research, if you marry my daughter you'll nearly triple your net worth." Mr. Bin says.
"I'm sure it would, but again, I'm not interested in finding a woman.?" Jungkook repeats with a smile. "If we're finished, I really must be going."
"Okay then, it was nice to meet you Mr. Jeon. Nice doing business with you. And if you ever decide to start looking for a woman, just let me know." Mr. Bin says as they stand and shake hands.
"Nice meeting you as well." Jungkook says with a smile. "Also, I'm sure your daughter is a lovely person with a great personality, but maybe she wants to find someone to marry on her own instead of her father choosing for her. Just something to think about."
Mr. Bin chuckles softly. "Sure, have a good afternoon."
Jungkook nods as the older man leaves the room and he gathers his things in a hurry.
He switches his phone on and finds two missed calls from Yoongi, he panics a little thinking something is wrong and calls him back.
"Jungkook," Yoongi answers after a few rings.
"Hey, hyung. Is everything alright? You called." He says checking his watch as he rushes out of his office.
"You finally decided to call me back I see, this is my third time calling you this week." Yoongi says from the other line. "We haven't seen you guys in months, Jungkook. What's going on?"
"Nothing's going on." Jungkook says flashing a smile to one of his employees.
"I thought you'd start doing better after Taehyung came home but you've just became even more distant. Jin and Joon think you're avoiding coming over because of them." Yoongi explains.
"Tell Jin and Joon that I already accepted their apology, I don't hold grudges." He says. "Unless you're my mother, that's a whole nother story."
"I'm disappointed that I have to hear updates on your life through Hobi cause you can't pick up your phone or call anyone back." Yoongi says, his words sounding genuine for once.
"I'm sorry, hyung. I know, I do. But, Hobi is Tae's best friend. He's been around helping me out a lot lately." Jungkook says.
"I know, that's no excuse for avoiding coming over and not answering my calls. Taehyung is our friend and we're just as concerned as Hobi is." Yoongi says with a sigh. "And I'm worried about you, Jungkook."
"Why, hyung?" Jungkook chuckles into the phone. "I'm fine."
"Because, I know you're not fine." Yoongi says. "And distracting yourself with work and Taehyung isn't gonna do anything."
Jungkook sighs. "I'm not distracting myself, I'm just a busy person. And I'm also not in the mood to be lectured right now."
Yoongi sighs again. "Just take care of yourself and Taehyung. Bye."
The line drops and Jungkook pulls the phone from his ear and continues home.
He understood why Yoongi was upset but at the same time he couldn't do anything to fix it, Taehyung was his main priority right now and he was too busy trying to make sure everything was fine with him that he wasn't worried about his friends.
When he gets home he rushes inside. "Tae, I'm home."
He walks into the living room to find Hobi sitting on the couch on his phone.
"Y'Know, you can always call me instead of leaving him here alone." He says looking up at the other.
"I was going to, but he asked me to leave him alone. I figured he'd be okay at home for a little while." Jungkook says. "Why're you here? Did something happen?"
"No, I was just around so Taeil and I stopped by." Hoseok says.
"Where's Taeil?" Jungkook asks.
As if on cue Taeil comes down the stairs with a bored look on his face. "Seriously, Hobi. Just tell me where he went, I suck at this."
Hoseok chuckles. "I wasn't paying attention, just look harder."
"He's little?" Jungkook asks looking at Taeil who nods.
"He's been hiding for the last ten minutes." Taeil says joining Hoseok on the couch. "I've looked everywhere and I still can't find him."
Jungkook chuckles. "He's probably just upstairs in one of the guest rooms. I'll go get him."
"If you find him I'm jumping out a window." Taeil says laying his head on Hoseok's shoulder.
"Promise?" Jungkook jokes before going upstairs to their bedroom to find Taehyung.
"Tae? I'm back, baby." He says when he gets into the bedroom.
"Daddy?" Taehyung's little voice come from inside the wardrobe.
Jungkook smiles. "Come out from there, Taeil's gone crazy looking for you."
The door of the wardrobe opens and a Taehyung comes out, smiling brightly when he sees Jungkook. "Daddy!"
Jungkook holds his arms out in time for him to catch Taehyung who throws himself towards him.
"Are you okay?" He asks as he hugs his little. "I'm sorry I had to leave you alone, you weren't too lonely were you?"
"No, Hobi and Tae keep Taeby happy while daddy was gone." Taehyung says playing with Jungkook's hair.
Jungkook smiles. "I'm glad, let's go say bye bye now, okay?"
Taehyung nods and lets Jungkook lead him down the stairs.
"Where'd you find him?" Taeil asks Jungkook as soon as they get into the living room.
"The wardrobe." Jungkook says making Taehyung gasp dramatically.
"Daddy! That's secret!" He says with a pout.
"Next time," Taeil says to Taehyung. "I'm hiding."
"Not fair! I win!" Taehyung shouts.
"Inside voice, Tae. I told you about that." Jungkook reminds delicately.
Hoseok smiles at him before standing up and pulling Taeil with him. "I guess we'll go then."
"Thank you guys for coming over." Jungkook says, ignoring Taehyung as he tried to braid his hair.
"No problem, just let me know if you need me to watch him. I told you I'm off during the day now." Hoseok reminds him.
"Thank you. Stop, Tae. Say bye." Jungkook says pulling Taehyung's hands from his hair.
Hoseok and Taeil say goodbye Taehyung before heading out.
Once they're gone Jungkook makes Taehyung sit down with him and try to read a book.
It keeps him occupied while Jungkook tries to take a nap through the story, only humming when Tae asks a question.
"Daddy?" Taehyung says looking over at Jungkook who hums again. "Did Taeil hurt Taeby?"
Jungkook opens his eyes. "What do you mean, baby?"
Taehyung shrugs looking at his book. "Him make Taeby scared."
"Don't be scared of Taeil, he's Hobi's boyfriend. He wouldn't hurt you, ever." He tries to reassure the little.
"He already did." Tae mumbles.
"What, baby?" Jungkook asks. "When did he hurt you?"
Taehyung closes the book and stands up. "I feel big."
Jungkook frowns, if Taehyung did start feeling big he usually just sat quietly until he was fully out of his headspace, he never announced it.
"Be right back." He says before leaving Jungkook in the living room and going upstairs.
Jungkook is left confused about what little Tae was trying to tell him.
Had Tae been hurt by Taeil before?
