Y/N suddenly and quickly woke up early in the morning with a gasp. He breathed heavily, holding his chest as his heart pounded. He looked to his left. The morning surnise peered through the blinds of the window to the room he was in, creating a nice, but dim sense of light in the bedroom.

"Mmm." Ruby slowly woke up and looked over to her left to see Y/N awake and sitting in his bed in a bit of a panic. She rubbed her eyes as she sat up in her own bed, trying to wake up a bit. Her hair was a cute mess and she was wearing her black pj's with little white dots.

"What's wrong, Y/N?" She asked him.

"N-Nothing... I-I'm alright." Y/N said back to her, dodging her question.

"You sure? You look like you've seen a ghost." She giggled a bit.

"What I saw... was far worse..."

"What happened?"

"I had a nightmare where we all got a bit older and we all had really bad haircuts...Plus Yang and Blake were a thing..."

"What? What made you think of that?"

"I have no idea."

"I don't like that idea." She shivered a bit and looked grossed out.

"Me neither. Talk about gross. The haircuts were terrible." Y/N started to chuckle a bit.

"How bad were they?"

"I'd say a three out of ten."

"That bad?" She asked giggling to herself quietly.

"Yeah... luckily it wasn't as bad as that one nightmare I had when that Mooncrawler was around...."

"Speaking of that, you never told me about the nightmare you had."

"I told everyone else, but you were in the shower, so I thought they'd tell you, but it seems they haven't yet." He said. He looked down and fiddled with his fingers. Ruby pushed the covers off of her before getting out of bed and walking to Y/N's bed. She sat down next to him waiting for him to tell his story as he sighed.

"So... I woke up in a dark room, strapped in a metal chair that was secured to the floor. I couldn't move, I couldn't get out. I had no clue where I was when I looked to my right and saw..." He hesitated to continue his reimagining of the nightmare.

"...."

"The severed heads of Jaune, Ren, and Nora along with their weapons..." He stated. His eyes almost had a blank, dead gaze to them. Ruby gasped.

"There was a bunch of blood and I couldn't help but scream. I was terrified. It felt so real. I couldn't wake up from that nightmare, hell I didn't even think It was a nightmare at the time. Then the lights came on in the room and you were tied up to the wall, unconscious. Then... They came in...."

"Cinder and Salem?" Ruby asked as Y/N nodded.

"They teased me and told me Tyrian killed the three and Qrow abandoned us before going over to you. You woke up and became scared as you saw your friends all dead and me just strapped in a chair." His voice started to waver as he spoke. He didn't know why he was getting emotional about telling her about the nightmare. He told everyone else just fine, but her... She was a different story. He soon broke and started crying.

"She stabbed you... right in the eye...." Ruby's eyes widened.

"You screamed in agony! That loud shriek of pain will never get out of my head!"

"I-I...."

"She pulled your eye out as blood poured from your socket... The next came your stomach. Cinder used Jaune's sword to impale your stomach, then stabbed your wrist afterwards. You were barely clinging on to life. Blood was already all over you and you were so much in pain that you couldn't scream anymore and I knew you wanted to.. I was mortified... Cinder then stabbed your heart... I watched as the life and color from your eye faded out of existence. You just hung there.... Lifeless.... Dead... Then everything went black... I'll never forget that dream I had! It was the worst thing I've ever experienced! It was all so damn real! I-" A sudden kiss came to his lips, which surprised him. The kiss lasted several seconds before they broke apart.

"R-Ruby..." Y/n looked to see that Ruby herself had tears in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry you had to experience something so awful. I couldn't imagine the pain you were in to watch me die like that.. as well as seeing our friends like that too. I love you, Y/N and I don't ever want you to forget that. I'll always be there for you like you are there for me." She gave him a heartwarming smile that melted his own heart. He leaned in and kissed her again. They kissed for a lot longer, than the previous one. *Knock* *Knock* Qrow knocked on the open door, scaring the two. They jumped back, both with their own small scream of fright. Both of their faces were red as cherries.

"Hey, sorry to ruin your little make-out session, but I'm heading out for a while. Take care of the place, will ya?" Qrow said, leaving the door.

"Yes sir!" Y/N yelled. Then, he and Ruby looked at each other before giggling. They dried their tears.

"Want to help me make breakfast for everyone?" Ruby asked.

"I'd love to." Ruby and Y/N got out of bed. Ruby went into the bathroom to change while Y/N changed in the bedroom. Y/N was the first to get changed and head downstairs. Ren was sitting on the couch, reading a novel of some kind.

"Good morning, Y/N. You're up quite early." Ren greeted him.

"I had a nightmare and I couldn't go back to sleep. I also woke Ruby up in the process, so she's getting ready in the bathroom right now."

"I see... Were you... Crying? Your eyes are a bit red." Ren looked up from his book.

"I told Ruby about the nightmare I had with that one Grimm, and for some reason I broke."

"You okay?"

"Yeah, yeah. Totally fine." Y/N waved his hands at Ren.

"Alright."

"Anything particular you want for breakfast?"

"Not really. Surprise me."

"You got it!" Y/n got a pan out of the cabinet. He got the muffin mix out of the cabinet as Ruby came downstairs.

"Morning, Ren." She greeted him.

"Morning, Ruby. How're you this morning?"

"I'm alright. What're you reading this early?"

"I'm reading a book about a man with two souls, one fighting over the other to take control."

"Woah. Blake was reading the same book before initiation back at Beacon."

"The man in the book really reminds me of someone, a certain headmaster that's stuck in the mind of a kid." Y/N added in the conversation.

"You're right. It does kind of resemble Ozpin and Oscar." Ruby thought out loud. She went into the kitchen with Y/N and helped him make muffins for everyone. Soon, Nora, Jaune, and Oscar came downstairs fully dressed and awake.

"Morning, guys."

"Sup."

"Morning."

"Yo."

"Jaune, hold Nora back please, I'm not letting her eating everything again after what happened last time."

"C'mon! It wasn't that bad!"

"You ate all the food we had including the meal Y/N prepared." Ren stated.

"Awe...." Nora pouted.

"Don't worry, there will be plenty for you. I'm making a specific batch for you."

"Yes!!!" She cheered.

"Whatcha making?" Jaune asked.

"Fried eggs and muffins. We should have enough orange juice or milk to go along with it in the fridge." Y/N replied. After a while, food was served and everyone ate breakfast together, except for Qrow.

"Do you know where Qrow went?" Nora looked at Ruby.

"He said he was going out."

"Yeah, he just left while I was reading on the couch."

"Meh, It's Qrow. He probably went out drinking again. He'll be back soon."

"Most likely." Ruby facepalmed while sighing.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Nora asked with her mouth full.

"I was thinking we could train some more. We have to get stronger so we can beat Cinder and Salem. We can go into the forest where we have a lot of space." Y/N suggested.

"That's true, we do need to keep in shape more and hone our skills." Ren agreed with Y/N's plan.

"Then its settled, We'll head out after we finish cleaning up our breakfast." Jaune nodded with a smile.

"I'm totally psyched!" Y/N cheered. Ruby cheered along with him as she was also excited.

"Dang, Ruby. These muffins are really good. Your baking has improved a lot." Nora said, stuffing her face with more muffins.

"Awe... Thanks, Nora." After 30 minutes of eating and talking, Everyone helped out on cleaning the table and doing the dishes. They then grabbed their weapons and went out to a nearby forest. Y/N summoned his Rebellion and stared Ruby in the eyes as she pulled out her scythe. Y/N stood on a small hill overlooking Ruby.

"Don't do it Ruby! I have the higher ground!" He yelled playfully. She giggled and shot a bullet at his feet.

"I think I can manage."

"Well, never mind then." Y/N jumped off the hill and smashed his sword down onto Ruby's scythe. She pushed him back and swung a couple times. He dodged under and over it before lunging forward, hitting her face with the tip of the blade. Her Aura protected her as she was knocked back. She landed on her feet and used her semblance to boost forwards towards Y/N quickly substituted his Rebellion for his own scythe. He blocked her attack as she was shocked to see that Y/N had a scythe.

"Wait... You have a scythe too?!" Ruby asked. Her eyes had stars in them as she looked up and down the weapon.

"Yep! Not as cool as yours, but I have one." Y/N smiled. Suddenly a loud war cry came from behind Y/N. He quickly turned around to see Jaune about to strike him with an overhead attack. The boy quickly stuck his scythe in the ground, punched Jaune in the stomach, and threw him to the ground.

"Agh." Jaune winced, holding his gut.

"Try not to scream when you preform a sneak attack. It gives your position aw- *Whack*" Y/N was then knocked to the side pretty hard unexpectedly by Nora's hammer. He flew a couple of yards before hitting a tree. He fell down to the trunk, sitting against it.

"Y/N!" Ruby ran over to him, slightly worried about him.

"Like that?" Nora chuckled loudly.

"That.... Was a good example.." There were a circle of stars orbiting Y/N's head. He shook his head and regained his composure, standing up in the process.

"Where's Ren?" Oscar asked.

"Up here!" Everyone looked up in the tree where Y/N stood. Ren was squatting on a large branch, looking down at everyone.

"Hmmm." Y/N thought to himself.

"How about we have a team battle?"

"What do you mean?"

"3 v 3. Ruby, you be a team cap and I'll be a team cap." Y/N suggested.

"That sounds super fun!" Nora said, looking at Ruby.

"Alright!" Ruby smiled.

"I'll let you choose first pick, since ladies go first."

"Oh how charming." Nora snickered.

"Mmmmm I choose Ren." Ren walked over to Ruby's side.

"I choose Jaune." Jaune was a bit shocked to hear his name be called to Y/N's team, but he stood beside him anyways.

"Nora." Nora went over to Ruby's other side.

"That leaves Oscar. Get over here, buddy." Y/N tugged him over to his side.

"Oscar, you're not allowed to go Ozpin. That won't be fair." Ruby stated.

"Don't worry about it, he won't need it." Y/N smirked a bit. The boy reached in his pocket and pulled out the ring.

"Though, you didn't say anything about me using the ring, did you?" Ruby looked at Ren and Nora with a worried face.

"I'm just kidding, guys. It wouldn't work even if I wanted it to." Y/N chuckled, putting the ring back into his pocket. They sighed with relieved faces, which only caused Y/N to laugh even more.

"For a second there, I thought you were about to beat us with the ring." Nora said.

"Oh no,  We're still going to win, even without the ring."

"Not if I have anything to say about it, and I do! 3 2 1 GO!!" Ruby immediately started the match as everyone ran forward towards each other. Y/N had to choose a weapon for the entire fight. He had a couple warps to work with, so he summoned his huge sword while the scythe disappeared behind him. Ren took out his weapons and started firing bullets at Y/N. Y/N held the hulking sword to his side, blocking the bullets that were fired at him. When the bullet storm stopped, the boy quickly swung his sword around and smashed the ground, creating small mounts that trailed Ren as he ran away from them. Jaune and Oscar went towards Nora. Ruby quickly tried swinging at Y/N, only for him to counter her attack with his own. Ruby and Y/N stood there, pushing their weapons against each other.

"So... you having fun, Ruby?" He asked her with a smile on his face.

"Mhm~! This is really fun!" They jumped back and circled each other. Y/N then threw his sword at Ruby, who dodged the sword. Y/N warped right next to her and punched her right in the nose, causing her to stumble over and hold her nose.

"Oh crap! I'm sorry, Ruby!" He walked over and tried helping her up, only for her to use her scythe to trip the boy over. She put her foot on his ribs and put the sniper end of her weapon to his face. She had a happy face.

"Do you surrender?"

"Surrender??" He only chuckled as he had an idea. He grabbed Ruby's boot as her leg started to freeze.

"Not today, girlfriend." He quickly got out from under her foot and picked up his sword as she tried getting the ice off of her leg.

"What was that?!" She asked.

"Mmmm a bit of magic, I guess. Came with the semblance. Forgot to ask Ozpin about that, but oh well." He shrugged as he put his sword behind him, blocking more bullets from Ren. Ruby took the advantage to rush Y/N and swing at him. He ducked her attack and headbutted her face. Jaune went to take care of Ren while Oscar was fighting Nora himself. Y/N quickly ran over and tried to help Oscar out.

"Oh no you don't! FORE!!!!!" Nora turned to her side and smacked Y/N upwards in the chin, sending him sky bound with his sword. Everyone stopped fighting and looked up, holding their hands to their forehead to block the sunlight.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-Oh, hey birdie-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" He fell back to the ground very fast, but not without a plan. He put the sword in front of him and prepared for landing. When he hit the ground, he stabbed the sword into the ground. A large explosion occurred, putting a crater in the ground. Once the dust cleared, Ruby, Nora, and Ren were lying on the ground, while Oscar and Jaune were stuck in the trees.

"Do you surrender?" Y/N asked with a smile on his face. He looked over at Ruby and her team to see that their Aura have been pretty drained.

"Yeah. We give.." Nora surrendered along with Ruby. Y/N walked up to Ruby, holding his hand out again. She smiled cutely and grabbed his hand, pulling herself up.

"Thanks, Y/N. That was some huge attack; Left a crater."

"Not as big as the one you pulled before initiation, isn't that right, Crater Face?" Jaune walked over with Oscar. Y/N had a devilish smirk.

"Hmmmm??? Crater Face?? Tell me more!" He chuckled. Ruby sighed.

"When I got to Beacon, Yang left me and I fell on Weiss's luggage. She then started arguing and shaking dust vials around me which stirred up a bunch of dust particles. I sneeze pretty hard and caused an explosion. Then came the name Crater Face." She crossed her arms. Everyone had a laugh about it, soon Ruby laughed along too. Y/N put his weapon away as he sat down.

"..."

"..."

"I miss those days." Y/N broke the silence. Everyone sat down next to him. Ruby frowned a bit and put her head on Y/N's shoulder.

"Me too..."

"I miss Pyrrha..." Jaune said. That was a name none of them have heard in a long time.

"I miss Penny." Ruby added.

"I miss home... Not just my planet, but... I miss being at beacon. After I settled in with the School and with you guys, I felt like I was at home again. I made new friends, a girlfriend, and a new life with powers that are my own." Y/N concluded. Everyone looked at him and nodded along.

"I don't like how things are now. It's all so tense and serious." Ren spoke.

"Ruby..."

"Hmm?"

"Have you ever thought that we kind of caused this?" Y/N asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Like... We pushed this entire thing on. We dove into this rabbit hole when we decided to split up and find out what they were up to."

"To be fair, I feel like this was going to happen either way; even if we didn't intervene." Ren stated.

"That's true." Y/N stood up in front of everyone. They looked up at him.

"Look, things have been pretty shit since the attack on Beacon, and to be honest, it might get worse. Who knows, but the only thing we can do to help and prevent things from getting worse is sticking together, alright?" Everyone had a small smile on there face.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I call dibs on first shower!" Y/N began running as fast as he could back to the house.

"What!? WAIT!!!" Ruby got up and used her super speed to get past him.

"Damnit Ruby!!" He stopped to catch his breath.

It was early in the evening and Y/N was taking a shower while the others were cooking dinner.

"The first batch is about done." Ren said, stirring the pot.

"Awesome! All we need is Qrow, then we're all set!" Ruby smiled.

"Do you really think Qrow is bringing that many people? This is a lot of food." Nora stuffed her face with another carrot.

"Eh.. I dunno, but it sounds like we can use all the help we can get." Ruby replied.

"I'm back!" Qrow yelled from the living room.

"BE RIGHT THERE!!" Ruby yelled back to him.

"You're... Going to overcook that..." Ren looked at Ruby's pan.

"No I'm not! Shut up!"

"Hey uh, Ruby?!" Qrow called to her.

"I'M COMING!" She then overcooked the food.

"Fine... You take over." She looked over at Ren before taking a tea set into the living room.

"So... We didn't know how many people were coming, so we just cooked all of it--" Ruby's eyes widened as she gasped, dropping the tea set on the ground. The set shattered on the floor. By then, Y/N was out of the shower and fully dressed. Ruby was totally shocked, but saddened almost.

"Y-Y-Yang, I-I'm so sorry! I should have stayed, I should have talked to you more, I just didn't know if you wanted me around and I-" Yang walked up to her crying little sister and hugged her tightly.

"I love you." Yang embraced Ruby as the others came over with a smile. Ruby and Yang cried together.

"I love you too." After a bit, the two let go.

"Weiss." Ruby called her over for a group hug. A smile came to her face as she ran over and hugged the two. Y/N came down the stairs.

"Yo, is everyone okay? I just heard something break..." He noticed Yang, Ruby, and Weiss in a group hug. They disbanded as Weiss and Yang looked at the stairs.

"Y/N???" Weiss tilted her head in confusion.

"Oh my god, Weiss, Yang!!" Y/N ran down the stairs and hugged them tightly. Weiss was a bit shocked and Yang was more confused. They hugged back before letting go.

"You're alive?!" Weiss asked.

"Long story...I'll tell you both later." The boy scratched the back of his head.

"Alright." Weiss agreed.

"C'mon, we made a ton of food, let's eat and catch up!" Ruby suggested. Everyone nodded as they went to start their dinner together.
