A couple weeks later everyone was in the arena watching Cardin and Jaune practice. It was Mrs. Goodwitch's class. Jaune ended up losing the fight. Cardin was a mean dude.

"You must learn to use your Aura correctly Mr. Arc." Glynda Said. After the class ended, everyone went to the lunchroom to eat. Everyone was in their normal places.

"So... there we were... in the middle of the night." Nora said eerily.

"It was day." Ren Said plainly.

"We were surrounded by Ursai."

"They were beowolves."

"There were dozens of them!!" Nora stood up.

"There were two of them." Ren Said, Nora taking her seat.

"But they were no match. And in the end Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of lien selling Ursa skinned rugs." Nora said happily.

"She's been having this recurring dream for about a month now." Ren Said, sighing. Jaune was picking at his food, not eating it at all. Pyrrha turned to him.

"Jaune, are you okay?" She asked. She got his attention.

"Huh? What? Oh yeah I'm fine. Why?" Jaune asked.

"Well, you seem a little... not okay." Ruby said.

"Yeah, I can agree. You're picking at your food and you haven't been talking much. Something seems wrong." Y/N said to him.

"Guys, I'm fine. Seriously. Look." Jaune did a thumbs up and forced a smile. He chuckled a little bit. Everyone then heard Cardin and his team laughing at a girl with bunny ears. Y/N looked over. He saw the girl being bullied by Cardin. Y/N got angry. He stood up. Ruby grabbed his wrist.

"Y/N, no. Don't cause a scene. It's not worth it. Please sit down. You'll get hurt." She said to him.

"Believe me when I tell you it is worth it. No one should be bullied. No matter what they look like or who they are." Y/N said looking into Ruby's eyes with confidence and anger. Blake smiled a little. She nodded and let go. Everyone turned around and watched Y/N walk over to Cardin.

"See I told you they were real." Cardin said touching the girl's ears. The rest of his team laughed along. Y/N tapped his shoulder. He turned around.

"Huh? What do you want?" He asked.

"I want you to stop messing with this girl. She is clearly not liking it." Y/N Said. Cardin stood up, towering Y/N. He leaned over Y/N. Everyone at the table was worried about Y/N.

"So what? She's a freak? She shouldn't even be here." Cardin Said. Y/N wasn't fazed by his height.

"So what? I'm also a freak. Actually more of a freak than she is. I'm not even from this planet. But that doesn't give you any right to bully her. So, leave her alone." Y/N Said.

"Pshh, you're that alien scum. What if I don't?" Cardin asked angrily, trying to scare Y/N. Y/N grabbed his armor, and brought Cardin's head down to his head height

"Then I'll have a reason to pull the trigger." Y/N Said seriously in an angry tone. He put Ocelot against the bottom Cardin's jaw, pulling the hammer back. Cardin backed away slowly. Y/N put Ocelot away.

"I won't forget this. I swear it. Let's get out of here guys." Cardin said to his team. They walked off, out of the cafeteria. Y/N sat next to the girl.

"You alright? I'm sorry that happened." Y/N tended to the girl.

"I'm fine. Thanks. I'm Velvet." She said.

"My name is Y/N. It's nice to meet you Velvet. If he messes with you again. Come to me." Y/N Said.

"I will. Thanks." She said. Y/N got up and went back to the table. Everyone kept quiet and looked at him, surprised.

"What?" Y/N asked trying to break the silence.

"I never knew you had a dark side." Yang Said.

"Yeah. You sure schooled him pretty hard." Nora Said with a wink.

"Well handled." Pyrrha Said.

"Be careful. He might come back to get you at some point, Y/N." Ruby said.

"I'll be fine, Ruby." Y/N Said.

"I can't believe you can be so cold to someone." Weiss said.

"Look who's talking." Yang Said with a chuckle.

"Quiet!" Weiss scoffed.

"Sorry. It's just that I have a problem with bullying and so I get pretty angry when someone gets bullied." Y/N said scratching the back of his head.

"Now back to the problem at hand... " Y/N Said, looking at Jaune.

"Jaune, Cardin has been picking on you since the first week of school." Pyrrha said.

"Pfft. Cardin Winchester? Nah, he's just likes to mess around. Y'know, practical jokes." Jaune Said. Ruby turned a little mad.

"He's a bully." Ruby said.

"Oh please. Name one time he's 'bullied' me." Jaune Said.

"I can name several." Y/N Said.

"Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask." Pyrrha Said. Nora stood up.

"Ooh! We'll break his legs!" She said.

"Guys, it's fine. And besides, it's not like he's only a jerk to me. He's a jerk to everybody." Jaune said, standing up.

"He's atrocious. I can't stand people like him." Pyrrha said disgusted.

"Me neither. I hate people like him more than anything in life." Y/N said.

"He's not the only one." Blake said.

"It must be hard to be a Faunus." Yang Said.

"A... what now?" Y/N asked.

"I don't think we covered who the Faunus are yet. Sorry, Y/N." Ruby said.

"Don't worry about it, Ruby." Y/N Said.

"Faunus are one of the two intelligent races that inhabit Remnant, the other race being the humans. While Faunus resemble Humans, they're often easily distinguishable from the latter in that they possess the traits of animals. Faunus are similar to Humans, except for the fact that they share certain traits with animals. Some types of Faunus are more common than others, with some being extremely rare. Faunus with mammalian traits, in general, seem to be quite common." Pyrrha Said. Y/N facepalmed and sighed, shaking his head.

"Oh no... not the furries. They exist in this world and they're actually real this time." He muttered to himself. No one really heard what he said. He perked himself back up.

"That's very cool actually. On my planet, we had cartoons that had Faunus. But they weren't real. They were drawn." Y/N said.

"Then, there are the other Faunus. There are the misguided ones that work for the White Fang. The White Fang is a malicious organization group of criminals and misguided Faunus. Humanity has been at war with them for a long time now." Blake said.

"I see." Y/N Said.

"Look, we need to get to class. Thanks for the lesson guys." Y/N Said, getting up with his tray. Everyone got up with him and went off to Professor Ooblek's class.

In class, Doctor Ooblek was zipping around the room, talking about some Faunus war. Jaune was sound asleep. Cardin was sitting back, relaxed, with a smug look and his feet on the desk. Dr. Ooblek zipped over to Velvet in the front and bottom row.

"Now, have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your Faunus heritage?" Dr. Ooblek asked the class. A couple people raised their hands. Velvet slowly raised hers.

"Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence." He took a sip from a tiny cup he was carrying around.

"Now, What was the turning point in the 3rd year of the war?" Dr. Ooblek asked. Weiss raised her hand quickly.

"Yes?"

"The battle at Fort Caste." Weiss said, putting her hand down.

"Precisely. And who can tell me what advantage the Faunus over general Lagoon's forces?" Dr. Ooblek asked. Y/N looked over at Cardin. Cardin had a paper football aimed at Jaune. He fired it and hit Jaune, waking him.

"Hey." Jaune said rubbing the back of his head. Dr. Ooblek zipped right in front of Jaune.

"Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?" Dr. Ooblek asked him.

"Ahh.. The answer.. the advantage... the Faunus..." Jaune started looking around Dr. Ooblek's head, at Pyrrha. Pyrrha started pointing at her eyes and making eye signals.

"Ahh! Binoculars!" Everyone started laughing, Cardin the most.

"Cardin?! Perhaps you can share your thoughts on the subject." Dr. Ooblek said to Cardin.

"Well, it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier." Cardin said.

"No wonder you got into this school, Cardin." Y/N said to him with a smug smile.

Everyone went "oooooooh"

Cardin stood up and looked at Y/N.

"You want to go?" Cardin asked, cracking his knuckles.

"Settle down, settle down!" Dr. Ooblek Said. Cardin sat back down.

"Now Mr. L/N, Do you know the answer since you're quick to roast another student?" Dr. Ooblek asked him.

"Well, back at my planet, most animals have night vision, or they were nocturnal, being a better term." Y/N said.

"General Lagoon was inexperienced and ambushed the Faunus in their sleep. His massive army was outmatched and the General was captured." Blake added on. Cardin was beyond pissed. He and Jaune had to stay after class for extra work. The rest of the class was dismissed. Y/N went back to the dorm quickly and showered. He got into his pajamas and stood outside until the girls arrived. They came down the hall all hunched over, tired.

"I'll wait out here." Y/N Said, leaning against the wall.

"Thanks." Yang Said.

"I think I should bring a chair out here to sit in." Y/N added. They closed the door. Y/N then heard talking on the roof. He heard Pyrrha and Jaune, but he couldn't quite know what they were saying. After a while, the door opened.

"You can come in now." Ruby said, holding the door open.

"Wait a sec. I'll be there in a minute." Y/N Said. Ruby closed the door. He then heard Cardin's voice.

"Crap... I think Jaune needs help." Y/N said to himself. He then went back into his dorm.

"You really roasted Cardin in class." Yang Said.

"It was nothing, really." Y/N Said.

"It was funny. Good work." Blake said.

"I need to sleep. I'm tired from all of the history. We have a field trip tomorrow, right?" Y/N asked.

"Yep! You get to see the Foreverfall Forest." Ruby said.

"Sounds like fun." Y/N Said, getting into his sleeping bag. Everyone got into their beds. Everyone went to sleep. Later that night, Ruby hopped outside the dorm for a minute to see Jaune. They talked about leadership. Ruby then came back in the room and went to bed, while Jaune was sent out by Cardin to grab rapier wasps.
