(Kept your asses waiting, huh? This is the final chapter of this specific arc. It's going to be one of two things. It's going to be either, heartwarming or heartbreaking. Maybe even both. Might also be a bit confusing. I will admit, all of these theories and questions you've been asking will be answered and proven in this chapter. This arc in general was a personal arc, that hit me right in the feels when I wrote it, so I'm sorry. Either way, fuck you let's go)

It's been a little under 2 months since Y/N has gotten together with Earth's Ruby. Life was great for him. It was finally close to Christmas break, and Y/N had a plan for Christmas. He's going to host a Christmas party with his family and friends. Anyway, at the moment, he's eating lunch with Ruby at school.

"I've never asked, how did midterms go?" Y/N asked Ruby.

"Well, with your help, I was able to pass most of them with a B. Thanks so much for helping me when I needed it." Ruby said, cheerfully taking a small bite out of a strawberry.

"Of course! I'm always here to help out people in need. Plus, you were new, and I had to help you out before midterms." Y/N said.

"Hey, you know, you've never introduced me to your friends, yet. You always talk about sitting with them before meeting me. Where do they sit?"

"You wanna come sit with me and my friends, Ruby?"    Y/N asked her.

"Yes!!" She packed up her stuff and got up, along with the boy as they walked to his friends' table. They looked up at Y/N. Ruby was hidden behind him, a bit shy.

"Well it was about time you came back to us. Haven't you ever heard of bro's before hoes?" Dylan asked. He seemed a little tense.

"Okay Boomer." Y/N said, sitting down as Dylan rolled his eyes.

"Now, I'd like to introduce you to my girlfriend, Ruby Rose. I'd like her to sit with us from now on if that's okay." Y/N stepped out of the way to reveal Ruby.

"Hello, my name is Ruby. It's great to finally meet you. Y/N has told me so much about you all." She waved a bit before sitting between Sasha and her boyfriend.

"So you're the girlfriend Y/N told us about. Didn't expect it to be the transfer. Why couldn't you have been a  cute French boy..." Sasha whined.

"Bonjour?" Ruby was confused.

"It's alright, Sasha. Our school is doing foreign exchange next year so you will be able to see all of the kids from other countries." Aaron said with a smile.

"Ruby, I told you to ignore them most of the time. They are crazy people. This one specifically." Y/N pointed at Dylan.

"What?! How am I bad?"

"I can agree." Sasha said, looking at Dylan.

"Same." Aaron said, doing the same.

"Be right back, guys. I have to go to the restroom." Y/N stood up and walked to the bathroom, opening the door before going in.

"So, you guys have been together for a while, right?" Sasha asked Ruby.

"Y-Yeah... Almost 2 months." Ruby shyly looked down.

"What do you like about him? I mean, I've known him for several years and he's always been the most normal guy you'd meet in a school."

"W-Well.." She started fidgeting.

"I bet you like his dick!" Dylan spouted.

"His w-what!?" Ruby looked at Dylan, surprised. Sasha immediately smacked him.

"Shut up, stupid!"

"I-I-I... Uhhhh." Her face was red as a tomato.

"Please ignore Dylan. He's a lost cause." Aaron tried to calm thing down.

"Now, you may continue, Ruby." Sasha smiled at her.

"W-Well, when I first came to the school, I really needed help and Y/N offered to help me after I asked. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably be doing worse in school. He's very helpful and kind. He's done so much for me and..." Ruby sighed.

"I don't know much about romance, but my heart feels weird when I'm around him... So, I talked to my sister and she told me that I had a crush on him. I was really scared that he didn't feel the same way I did."

"Wait... Have you never had a boyfriend before?"

"Nope..."

"How???" Sasha was genuinely surprised.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you're a pure hearted girl, not to mention very cute. Though, you are lacking in a couple places. I don't see how you've never had a boyfriend before." Sasha eyed Ruby up and down.

".... I don't know... I just never had the interest in relationships. Heck, even when I met Y/N, I didn't... but he made me feel different... so..." She smiled and held her heart.

"That's why.. I like him.." Ruby looked up at Sasha. Ruby's eyes almost had small sparkles in them. Sasha couldn't help but smile as she hugged Ruby.

"Ahhh!!! You're gonna be my new bestie!!" She said happily.

"R-Really!?" Ruby was happy to make a new friend.

"I've never seen a girl as pure as you... I must protecc!" She said. Just then, Y/N came back. He took his seat.

"Sorry for the wait, guys."

"Y/N! Sasha is now my bestie!" Ruby said with glee.

"How did that happen so quickly?"

"Don't worry about it." She giggled with Sasha.

"Guys... I forgot to mention that Ruby is unbelievably pure hearted. So, I'd tone down the dirty and mean stuff while she's here." Everyone eyed Dylan.

"What??" He looked at everyone innocently. Everyone rolled their eyes.

"So, not counting Y/N, how are you liking the school?" Aaron asked, changing the subject.

"The school is really cool, actually. Most of the people here are really nice, minus a couple of them, but Y/N took care of them for me, with cool wizard powers."

"Wizard powers?" Sasha was definitely confused on that.

"Yeah! Y/N You should totally show them!"

"Yeah, Y/N. Show us your powers." Sasha laughed sarcastically.

"He does have powers though! I saw him do it with my own eyes!" Ruby tried to make them believe her.

"Okay boomer." Dylan said. Ruby made a pouty face and crossed her arms.

"Ruby, you're acting a lot like Weiss right now." Y/N poked her cheek.

"... they won't believe me. You know you did it too!"

"That might've been a fluke. Heck it probably didn't even happen." Y/N said.

"No, no, I wanna see this. Let's go outside." Dylan said, standing up. Everyone put their trash away and went outside to the back of the school.

"Alright. Let's see it." Sasha looked at Y/N and crossed her arms. Y/N gulped and looked at Ruby. She smiled at him and nodded. Y/N bent down and picked up a rock, looking at the top of the school. He breathed in and then out. He then took a step back and threw the rock as hard as he could to the top of the roof. The second he opened his eyes, he saw only the sky. He looked down and saw that he was on the roof.

"Wooo... jeez. Gah that burns a little. I can't believe it actually worked. I still have my powers from the Dream. Am I dreaming right now?" He asked himself as he pinched himself.

"Ow! Not dreaming!"

"....."

"....."

"....."

"You did it!!" Ruby said happily, clapping. Everyone else was silent. The three were shocked. They didn't know what to say. Y/N picked up the rock again and threw it down in front of them, warping back. Bits of blue sparks came off as residue of the warp. His friends took a step back, while Ruby stood still.

"W.. what are you?" Sasha asked. She was.. excited? She had a big smile on her face.

"Dude!! That was INSANE!!" Dylan said.

"Truly a marvel!" Aaron added on.

"How did you do that?!" Sasha asked again.

"I don't know... I though I could only do it in my dream, but... I guess I can do it in the real world too." Y/N said, looking at his hands.

"See! I told you he had wizard powers!!" Ruby crossed her arms with a smug smile.

"Sorry for doubting you. It's just, when you say someone has powers, then it's likely a joke to most people." Sasha looked at Ruby. After lunch ended, classes went on until school was over. Y/N met Ruby over at the car line.

"Hey, wanna come by my place? I just got Doom: Eternal!"

"What?! I thought that was supposed to come out in March!"

"My uncle works for Id Software." Y/N shrugged with a smile.

"Yeah, right." Ruby giggled.

"What do you say? Wanna come with?"

"Of course!" Ruby ran ahead. Y/N walked along a little far behind her. She was too excited and forgot to look for cars on the road. A truck was coming her way in a very quick pace. Faster than vehicles should go in a school zone. Y/N's eyes widened in shock as he ran as fast as he could.

"RUBY!!!"

"Huh?" Ruby stopped and looked to her side, seeing the large, black Ford F-150. He picked up a rock and threw it as hard as he could in front of the truck. His body immediately caught Ruby, and they both landed in the grass. Safe and sound.

"You really need to look where you're going." Y/N said. He was on top of her in a very compromising position. She looked up at him with her face full of red.

"Y-Y/N..."

"R-Ruby..." They were in the moment. What.. what was going on?

"Okay.. l-let's get up." Y/N said as he stood up. He held his hand out to Ruby, who gladly took it. They rubbed themselves off of any dirt that was on them.

"You Alright?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, and you?"

"I'm fine. Sorry.. I shoulda looked where I was going."

"It's cool. Now let's go kill some demons."

"YES!" She said with happiness. They both walked to the house and played some of the new Doom. It was absolutely badass! After an hour and a half of that, Y/N paused the game.

"Hey.... umm... can I talk to you about something?"

"Yeah, what's up?" She asked, looking at him.

".... it's kinda important and you might find it a bit weird."

"Are you breaking up with me?" She looked down with a sad expression.

"N-n-n-no!!! That's not it at all!! I promise. I have no reason to do so!" Y/N saw Ruby's face go back to a smile.

"I'm glad. So what is it then?" She asked curiously

".... so... I had a dream a couple months back...." Y/N then proceeded to tell Ruby about his dream he had. He put every detail he could into it.

"And then I came here... and when you showed up at my school, it was so weird to me."

"I see... so... when I came into your school, you though I was that girl?"

"Y-Yeah... I'm really sorry."

"No!! It's okay!! Really. It's okay. But... here's my question.. do you still like me for who I am?"

"Huh?"

"Do you still like me? Even if I'm not that girl from your dream?"

"Of course I do! You mean the world to me." Y/N held her hands.

"C-Can... I have a kiss? We haven't kissed since that night... I... wanna... try it again." She said. Y/N gulped and leaned in. So did Ruby. Their lips connected. They kissed for a straight minute. Afterwards, Y/N pushed Ruby onto the bed and he got on top of her.

"Y-Y/N... w-what are you d-doing?" She asked innocently.

"..." He proceeded to kiss her more. Her eyes widened in confusion. He then backed off, holding his mouth, his own eyes widened.

"I... I'm so sorry! I didn't..."

"No! It's okay. I.. it... was kind of weird, though.." Ruby said as she sat up. Just then, the doorbell rang, signaling Yang's arrival. They both just giggled the fact that they did something that serious.

"Looks like its time for you to head out, huh?"

"Yeah. Thanks.. for telling me about that dream. It must have been eating you inside since you've met me."

"Yeah... I'm glad to have said it as well. I felt like I was hiding a big lie from you. But my heart feels lifted now." Y/N smiled as Ruby got of the bed. She walked to his room door and opened it. She looked back and smiled back.

"I love you, Y/N."

"I... i.. love you too, Ruby." They both giggled.

"Jeez, we sound like a married couple."

"Yeah. I'll see you later?"

"Totally!" She walked out of the room, and out of the house with Yang. Y/N watched from the window as they went off. He looked around his room for his phone. He couldn't find it, so he went downstairs to check. His sister was downstairs on the couch. Y/N searched the kitchen.

"Hey, S/N, do you know where my phone went?" He asked his sister.

"Yeah... uhmm.. can I ask you something?"

"Yeah? What's up?" He asked from the kitchen.

"Are you sure that the dream you had... was a dream?"

"Yeah. None of that was real. Most likely must have been a lucid dream or something. Why do you ask?"

"Cause... there's a picture of you, dream Ruby, and some other people on your phone."

"W-What?" Y/N was confused.

"Come see." S/N said as her brother walked over to look at his phone. His eyes widened to see a picture of him and the team in the sunset, facing Beacon academy. This photo happened right after the first invasion of the Grimm in Vale. Y/N took a step back.

"W-w-What?! H-how? How is this possible?! It was just a dream..." Just then.. everything around him faded to nothing. The floors became a mirror as the sky became a full blue color with puffy white clouds.

"No no no no no! What's going on?"

"Hello again, Y/N." A deep male voice spoke. Y/N quickly turned around to see God again.

"You?! Again?! What do you mean?"

"You are dead, Y/N.." He said plainly.

"I can't be.."

"I'm sorry, but it is true."

"THEN WHAT WAS ALL OF THAT?!?!?! You can't just tell me that I'm dead after all of that!!! I was having the time of my life!" Y/N was pissed beyond imagining.

"Y/N... Here in heaven, you are in a place of eternal happiness. Whatever you desire will come to you. You desired to be back home with family and friends, so it happened as if none of the events in the other world happened. You also desired that girl from the other world, so you imagined her coming to your school and became her partner."

"S-She... she's a figment of my imagination!?"

"That is correct."

"So... this entire time that I thought I was on Earth...it was all a farce? It was just my imagination playing with me as I was just in heaven?!"

"That is also correct."

"But, you were able to mess your imagination up with your phone. You took a photo in the other world and kept it. When you looked at it, your perception of this reality faded away."

"..."

"I'm going to send you back to the other world."

"What?"

"Yes. I'm giving you another chance to live again. Unless you want to stay here."

"What about Earth? What's Earth like right now."

"...."

"No... don't tell me..."

"I'm sorry, but the Earth is no longer a planet."

"Y-You're lying! You have to be!" Y/N cried as he fell to his knees. He cried for a while. He had to face the facts: everything he knew from his world was a lie. That world's Ruby was a lie. His friends and family were all a lie, just to make him happy in heaven. After a while a crying, he stood up.

"So...What is your choice, my child?"

"Oh.. I'm going back. No doubt about that, but... this may be weird to ask, but can I... say goodbye to my reality Ruby?"

"Even if you know she isn't real?"

"Yes..."

"Very well, I will give you some time." He said as everything around Y/N came back to him. He was back in his house on the couch with his sister, who was asleep on his shoulder. He looked around with an angry face, but it soon calmed to a sad face. He started crying, realizing what he has to do. His sister woke up.

"B-Big brother? Why are you crying?" She hugged him and looked into his eyes. He stopped crying for a minute and looked at his sister.

"C-can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Will you always love me? Even if I was gone forever?"

"Of course! I'll always love you, Y/N. You're my brother." She said with a smile. He couldn't tell if it was his mind making her say that... or if it was actually her.. but he smiled anyways. He hugged her back tightly. After a while, he woke up to the sunlight. He was laying on the couch with his sister on the other side, fast asleep. He rubbed his eyes and got up, making cereal after going to the kitchen. Soon, his sister woke up with a yawn.

"Morning, Sis."

"Ohayou (good morning)." She rubbed her eyes as well.

"You need to stop watching so much anime."

"You're the one to talk." They both laughed.

"Do you mind if I bring Ruby over today?"

"Nope, not at all!"

"Good..." Y/N said... he knew what he had to do. After a while, Y/N picked up his phone and called Ruby.

"Hey, Y/N! What's up?"

"Can you come over? I... I have another thing to talk about. It's more important than the last talk." He said.

"Sure! I'll be right over." She hung up. About 15 minutes later, Ruby knocked on the door before Y/N opened it. Y/N led her to his room. They both sat on his bed.

"..."

"..."

"So... what is it you wanted to talk about?"

"Ruby... so.. about that dream... it turns out... I.... it wasn't a dream. It was real... I'm dead right now."

"What?" Ruby shook her head, confused as to what he was saying.

"You... you don't exist, Ruby.. you're just a figment if my imagination. As is everything else around me, my family, my friends, and everyone I know. All of it is fake, just to make me happy. I'm in heaven right now..."

"Y/N...."

"I wanted to say goodbye... I'm going back to Remnant. To see my friends... and my girlfriend. I'm so sorry..." he started crying.

"I'm so sorry!" He cried harder. He then felt a hand grab his. Ruby put his hand on her warm cheek, holding it in place. He looked up to see her teary eyes and warm smile.

"R-Ruby..." He was confused to why she was smiling. She then leaned in and kissed him. His eyes widened. When they broke apart, She had that warm smile again.

"It doesn't matter if I'm real or not, Y/N. I love you all the same. You mean the world to me."

"I.."

"If and when you die again... I'll be here.. waiting to see you again." She said. Just then, a holy light beamed down on Y/N. He started to lift off of his bed, into the air. He grabbed Ruby's hands.

"I love you..." She said before everything went black.

(That was it!!! The arc is finally over. I hope everyone enjoyed the past four chapters. I surely enjoyed writing it.
