It was morning soon enough. After the eventful evening that Y/N and Ruby had the previous day, he was tired. He slowly opened his eyes, the of feeling breathing on his shoulder kinda spooked him. He was confused about what it was and looked at the source, only to see Ruby, peacefully sleeping next to him. She snored gently. His face went red. Suddenly, the door opened.

"Hey, Y/N, Ruby, I didn't know if you guys were awake but breakfa-st....... is............. ready.." Jaune looked at the two. His went from a smile to a shocked face.

"Now Jaune... this isn't.. what it looks like. I honestly have no clue how this happened." Y/N tried to talk his way out of it. Ruby's eyes opened. She shot up quickly with the reddest of faces after seeing Y/N next to her. She realized she wasn't in her bed, like she thought. Ruby jumped out of the bed sitting on the ground next to him in shock. She still had her casual clothes on that she wore out last night. Y/N still had his clothes on too.

"Jaune! You're next line will be, I'm sorry to bother you. I'll leave you two alone for a bit!" Y/N said, making the good old Joseph Joestar reference, pointing his finger at him.

"I'm sorry to bother you. I'll leave you two alone for a bit!" He closed the door behind him as he walked out.

"WHAT?!" Y/N could hear him outside questioning how he knew what he was going to say.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH Y/N! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean too! I...I!!" She was in a shocked mood, her hair was messy, that made her even more cute. He just put his hand on her shoulder.

"Shhhh.. calm down, Red. I know you didn't mean too. You wouldn't purposely show up in my bed and sleep next to me. You don't have the guts or the heart to do so."

"Y-yeah.. that's way too weird for me... Late last night, I went to the bathroom. I must've went to the wrong bed. I'm really sorry." She pouted.

"It's alright." Y/N smiled, ruffling her hair.

"Wait... how did I even get back?"

"You fell asleep on the bench, and I literally carried you all the way home and put you in your bed."

"You carried me back here? You could have just woke me up."

"Nah. You looked really tired so I just carried you back to your bed so you could sleep more."

"D-... did we do.. anything... w-weird?" She looked away, her face as red as a Tomato. Y/N only smiled and chuckled.

"Lord no! If we did, your sister would have my head... and everyone else....." Y/N stared off into the abyss of the wall, imagining what everyone would do to him if he actually 'did' something. Y/N put his hand out to Ruby as she gladly took it, standing up.

"You good?"

"Mhm~! Now remember, we're going out to Haven."

"Alright, Alright. How about you go down and eat breakfast, and I will take a shower. Then after we're both done, we switch? It'd be more efficient that way." Y/N suggested the idea as Ruby thought about it.

"That does sound like it would make it faster, so why not? Alright, I'll see you in a bit. Don't run the hot water out!" Ruby went downstairs and Y/N undressed and got into the shower. Ruby went into the dining room with a yawn. Eggs and bacon, with toast and a glass of milk, sat on the table. She took her seat.

"Good morning, Ruby." Ren smiled, sitting across from her.

"Ohayou...." Ruby said, rubbing her eyes a bit.

"Ohay—what?" Ren was confused.

"It's a way of saying good morning in a place from Y/N's world called 'Japan'. He taught me." Ruby started eating her food.

"Interesting... So what did you and Y/N end up doing last night?" Ren asked her. Jaune was in the living room with Qrow and Nora. Qrow got up and walked over to the table.

"Yeah..... What did you two do last night? I heard you two slept in the same bed..." Qrow smirked a bit. Ruby gasped and started coughing. She quickly drank her milk and looked at Jaune.

"J-Jaune!!!" She yelled at him, her face red.

Y/N was currently singing "Panzerkampf" by Sabaton, in the shower.

"W-W-Well. It was kinda my fault. Here, I'll explain it." Ruby started to explain about what she and Y/N did on their time out. She then explained how she got into the same bed as him.

"Since the lights in the bathroom were bright, I couldn't see very well when I turned them off, and so I must have stumbled into his bed." Ruby said. Qrow started busting out laughing.

Y/N, after finishing "Panzerkampf", started singing "Slow Dancing in the Dark" By Joji.

"W-what's so funny?!" Ruby's face turned red again.

"Nothing, Nothing. You two act so awkward and it's actually really funny. Don't worry about it, just eat your food." He ruffled Ruby's hair as she kept eating. He went to the kitchen to get more alcohol for his flask.

Y/N finally finished up in the shower. He got out and got dressed in his new fighting gear he obtained a couple days earlier when everyone came to Mistral.

He got suited up. He looked in the standing mirror, smiling at himself as he nodded. He went over and picked up his phone and scroll. Both had full battery. It was strange how the phone still survived after all of the shit that's happened. He put them into his pockets and went downstairs. When he got there, he stood with his arms out.

"How do I look?" He said you everyone. Everybody's heads turned to him. Qrow laughed hard as everyone else's eyes widened to how badass Y/N looked.

"You look absolutely ridiculous!" Qrow chuckled between each word. He almost fell over.

"Whoa.... you look..." Jaune started.

".... Really freaking cool!!!" Ruby jumped out of her chair and started looking at Y/N with every angle with stars in her eyes. Y/N laughed at her playful, childish nature coming out.

"Yeah... what she said." Jaune said. Ren had food in his mouth, so he just did a solid thumbs up. Nora and Jaune got up and looked around Y/N.

"You look like you're ready to fight a bunch of Grimm." Nora smiled at him.

"That's kind of the point, Nora."

"You're looking cooler than Neptune right now." Jaune complimented him.

"Heh, you think so?" Y/N scratched the back of his neck.

"Totally."

"Speaking of Neptune... what happened to him? Hell... what happened to Cardin and his team? What happened to Coco and Velvet's team?" He asked them, looking at each of the teenagers. Each of them looked at each other and then Ruby's head lowered. Y/N's heart sank.

"We don't know where they are, Y/N...I'm sorry."

"....don't tell me they...."

".... I don't know..."

"Look kids, we gotta go to Haven Academy."

"He's right.. Ruby, go take a shower and get ready, alright?" Y/N kissed the top of her head. She nodded, her cheeks turning pink. Ruby ran upstairs to take a shower as Y/N cleaned up her plate and set it in the sink.

"So why exactly are we going to Haven again?" Y/N asked Uncle Qrow. 

"Don't worry about it, kid. I just have someone I need to talk to." Qrow answered.

"Alright, I guess." After a while of waiting for Ruby to get ready, she came down, wearing her usual battle clothing.

"You look cute as always, Ruby." He said, looking her up and down. She smiled at him.

"Thanks!"

"Where did you get the clothes though?"

"Huh?"

"What happened to your old ones?"

"Had a bit of a growth spirt while you were, y'know.."

"Dead?"

"Yeah, and I grew out of them."

"Well those new clothes look really cool on you."

"Thanks, Y/N."

They then walked all the way to Haven Academy. Ruby took the lead with Y/N as everyone walked through the smaller sized courtyard. Ruby smiled and sighed.

"We made it." She said. Everyone then went on inside.

"Hello?!" Ruby yelled, trying to see if anyone was around.

"HELLOOO?!" She yelled louder.

"Maybe try.... louder?" Nora suggested.

"There doesn't seem to be anyone here." Ren spoke up

"Well, school really isn't in session right now. Maybe that's it." Jaune looked around.

"It's quiet... too quiet though. You think you'd hear the footsteps of a teacher wandering in the halls, but it's silent..." Y/N tried to set an eerie tone.

"No... this isn't right, come on guys!" Qrow ordered them as they followed him. He ran while they ran behind him to a large door.

"Alright guys, get ready, we don't know what's in there." Qrow said, getting his weapon ready. Everyone else got their weapons ready. Y/N looked through his weapon choices, questioning which one he should pick, breaking the suspense a little.

"JUST PICK ONE!" Ruby yelled at him.

"Alright Alright Jeez!" Y/N picked out the Rebellion. Qrow then busted the doors open and on the other side was an old man. Everyone screamed except Y/N. Qrow fell over due to balance and the old man fell over because he was old. Y/N started laughing is ass off. Ruby just looked at him.

"The comedic timing was perfect!" Y/N chuckled a bit more. Ruby rolled her eyes and looked at the old man.

"Uh... Professor.... Lionheart?"

"QROW! YOU NEARLY SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH!"

"You don't look too far from it, buddy." Y/N snickered, roasting Lionheart. Ruby elbowed his side.

"Me?! Why weren't you waiting for us at the entrance?" Qrow asked, getting up. Lionheart looked at a pocket watch.

"Oh right! Apologies, I guess. Time must have slipped away from me." The guy got up as everyone put their weapons away.

"You're joking...."

"Where is everyone?" Nora asked him.

"Ahhh you must be the students Qrow mentioned."

"Yes sir! Ruby Rose!" She introduced herself.

"Jaune Arc"

"Nora Valkyrie"

"Lie Ren"

Y/N stared at the old man with a serious look on his face.

"My name is Y/N L/N. I am 16 years old. My house is in the Northeast section of Mistral, where all the villas are, and I am not married, but I do have a girlfriend. I used to be a student at Beacon Academy before the colla—AGH!" Y/N got elbowed again by Ruby, but harder.

"I'm Y/N L/N... it's nice to meet you... " Y/N lowered his head in defeat. He only wanted to make the JoJo reference... the old man looked carefully at Y/N In particular. The boy noticed but he didn't really care. Lionheart chuckled a bit.

"Pleasure to meet you all. Leonardo Lionheart at your service. I'm afraid most of the staff and faculty are away until classes resume."

"What? Leo you can't be serious, who's guarding the relic?" Qrow asked with a serious tone.

"Qrow, the children!"

"We already know, boomer!" Y/N yelled from the back.

"Yeah, they know, I filled them in."

"You... filled them in?"

"So... is this not going the way we thought it would....?" Nora spoke to Ruby.

Everyone went inside the office. Ruby and Jaune stood next to Qrow while Ren and Nora were sitting together on the couch. Y/N looked around and rearranged every small Knick-knack in different places around the room, giggling evilly as he did it.

"I have to say, Qrow, this all seems very reckless, even for you."

"No.. reckless is leaving one of the relics completely unguarded. It's not checking in with Oz for ages."

"There was nothing to check in about before the fall of Beacon. But now, Mistral is in chaos! Vale wasn't the only one to suffer that night. Everyone was watching, every house in every kingdom saw that poor girl ripped to pieces." The old man spoke. Y/N stopped what he was doing.... he backed away and thought back to Penny. He looked over and saw Ruby in a sad mood. He ran over and hugged her, her hugging him back. Soon, they let go of each other.

"Saw monsters crawling all over the city, Atlesian knights attacking citizens, and then nothing.... you could feel the dread in the air.. with all that negativity, you can imagine what it was like when the Grimm came for us. Mistral's controlled territory is the widest reaching in the world you, know, and that makes it infinitely harder to protect. We lost so many great huntsman... teachers from this very institution... and it's only gotten worse."

"W-What do you mean?" Ruby asked him.

"We May have dealt with the Grimm, but the Mistral council is still at odds with representatives from Atlas. First, it was the dust embargo...now it's the closing of borders. I'm not sure what happened to James in Vale, but it seems to have worsened some of his more...unfortunate tendencies. And on top of everything, we still don't know where the spring maiden is."

"All the more reason we need the huntresses and huntsman here." Qrow argues.

"Okay! Okay! Things are bad! Really bad! But we can figure this out. Why is the spring maiden so important?" Ruby stepped forward. Y/N knew.. but said nothing given the current situation everyone was in.

"I thought you filled them in."

"Mostly, filled them in. Look, there's a lot to cover okay? I quit teaching for a reason." Qrow drank from his flask.

"The four maidens all each have the power to preform different feats of magic, and they are the only ones capable of reaching the relics."

"What?" Jaune was confused.

"The relics are each locked inside a chamber that can be unlocked with a specific maiden."

"Winter is for creation, Summer is for destruction, Fall is for choice, and Spring is for Knowledge." Y/N interrupted, remembering what Qrow told him.

"Yeah.. Spring is the problem."

"What happened to her?" Ren asked.

"She was determined at first when she inherited her powers, but the weight of the responsibility was too much for a child. She ran.... abandoned her training, everyone... that was over a decade ago. There's no telling where she could be now."

"I know... or at least I have a pretty good idea where." Qrow put his hand in his pocket.

"Are you serious?"

"It's not exactly good news."

"What do you mean?! This is incredible news! After an entire decade! Where!?" The old man asked, walking up to Qrow, only to be pushed aside.

"I did some digging of my own. Looks like after spring ran away, she got picked up by bandits. Specifically the Branwen tribe."

"Raven..."

Ruby's eyes widened in shock as it was her technical stepmother.

"Yang's mom?" Jaune asked.

"That's right." Qrow walked to Lionheart's desk and put his scroll on it, creating a holographic map. It zoomed in on a specific part.

"That's about where they set up. That's where they fall back to after raids and scouting missions. Ravens managed to get a lot of followers since she returned to the tribe, and I'm sure when the spring maiden showed up, it only made things easier."

"Well, Qrow, I gotta hand it to you. With these coordinates, we can mount a retrieval Force and head out in a few weeks."

"Weeks? You do realize Qrow knows where she is! We can get there in a matter of days!"

"Stay out of this, Y/N!" Qrow yelled at the boy.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me, Qrow. This kingdom is in shambles. As soon as possible does not mean tomorrow, it means as soon as I can convince the council that I need huntsman more than they do! Unfortunately bandit tribes aren't high on their priorities when the threat of war is on the horizon."

"Then damn the council. We'll do it ourselves. You and me are trained huntsmen and these kids aren't just pushovers"

"Yeah!" Ruby pumped her fist into the air with a smile.

"Pshh... You got that right" Y/N crossed his arms with a smirk.

"Perhaps there is a more peaceful way to approach this?" Ren asked.

"We need to get spring as far away from here as possible, and Raven isn't going to give up her most prized possession without a fight."

"Have you guys ever had the thought that Raven herself is the maiden? She could have easily killed the girl in the tribe and took the powers, right?" Y/N suggested. Everyone looked at him.

"You're not wrong.. it could be the case. Hopefully it is, that would make it far easier to secure the relic." Qrow said with a nod.

"Qrow, you and your sister are evenly matched, and I'm not the fighter I used to be. No offense, but these students and I cannot take on an entire bandit tribe and a maiden who's had plenty of years to hone her skills. We need to be positive. If we fail, Raven and her tribe will scatter and we'll be lost. We get one shot at this. And it needs to be perfect."

"You know Oz wouldn't be happy with any of this if he were here."

"Perhaps you're right, but he's not. I'm doing the best I can."

"There has to be something we can do." Ruby spoke up.

"What about Cinder? She came with Mercury and Emerald from Haven. Do you have anything on them?" Jaune asked. Y/N's face turned serious. He remembered everything that wretch did to him and his friends... he was going to get her back someday. He swore on it.

"I pulled their files, but they're only lies and forgeries."

"Well, I can't say this has been a warm reunion, Leo."

"I'm sorry. I know you all traveled a long way, but I will do everything I can to help."

"Sure, we'll stay in the city for the time being. Local comms are still up, keep in touch." Qrow said, turning around to leave the office.

"Come on kids." He ordered them. Everyone followed him out, except for Y/N. He turned around and looked at the professor.

"It was, nice meeting you professor." He said.

"Likewise." Leo looked at the boy with a serious face afterwards. Y/N could tell that Leo was hiding something... he just didn't know what, so he left with his team and Qrow, closing the door behind him.

"So.. what do we do now?" Nora asked Qrow. He only sighed.

"You five head back to the house. I need a drink."

"Of course you do. Wait... what's the drinking age here...I never asked."

"Twenty one."

"Damnit.." Y/N said as everyone, but Qrow headed back to the house.

After a while, Ruby and Y/N were in their room reading comic books. Jaune, Nora, and Ren were sitting in the living room. A knock came to the door, which made everyone in the living room skeptical. Jaune stood up and slowly went to the door, gently opening it to reveal a small farm boy.

"Can I.... help you?" Jaune asked the boy.

"Yeah.. is there a... Ruby Rose here?" The boy spoke. Ren and Nora stood up with angry faces.

"Why?" They said with a serious tone.

"Well......" suddenly Qrow showed up behind him, drunk off the goose.

"I FOUND HIM..." he came in laughing his ass off.

"I think her uncle could use some help." The boy said as Qrow fell on the couch. He pointed to the boy.

"I.. I found him." The muffled sound of footsteps came down the steps as Ruby and Y/N came down.

"What is going on down there?! Can't two people read their comics in peace?!" She yelled in anger.

"Yeah! We were reading some cool comic book I found in a shop nearby!" Qrow burped and chuckled as Ruby and Y/N sighed

"Qrow... did you get drunk again?"

"Mmmmaaaaybeeeee..."

"You... have silver eyes." The boy looked at Ruby as she looked at everyone else, questioning who he was.

"Who..... are you?" Ruby asked as Qrow just started laughing a little bit more.

"Ah... well... my name is Oscar Pine.."

"Wait for it..."

"But you probably know me as professor Ozpin?"

Everyone's mouths dropped, including Y/N's.. Qrow laughed even more sitting up quickly.

"I DID IT!!!" He then fell off the couch, passing out.
