(Okay Boomers, here comes another chapter. Last chapter, i seemed to have fixed the thing that was happening, Which is good. See, I have a master plan for the 4 chapters that is this arc. And by the end of it, you'll be stunned by my inner geninus. HAHa. This chapter is pretty much going to be about what the title says, well, except for one part. Also, yes, the title is a reference to one of my favorite bands ever. I also want to say that one of the parts in this chapter is actually a detailed experience I've had in my own life. I kinda wanted to throw a personal event I've had to idk make it more meaningful for me. Either way, let's get this shit going. )

It's been several weeks since Y/N woke up from his crazy dream. His life has gotten pretty normal again, except for the fact that somehow Ruby is now going to his school. It's weird isn't it? He definitely thought so, but he took advantage of the opportunity and became best friends with the new Ruby. The Monday after Ruby came to his house, she and Y/N were working on some finances homework when the bell rang.

"I'll take this home and finish it for both of us. I can promise a 100 on it." Y/N said, putting the work in his folder, then stuffing it into his bag.

"Thanks, Y/N. I feel bad though. You'll have to do the rest..." Ruby hung her head down with a frown. Y/N simply just ruffled her hair, making her look up.

"Why don't you come to my place? You know where I live now, so it would be easier for Yang to pick you up. And when we're done, we can have a rematch on MW after I whooped you last time." Y/N offered.

"Is that a challenge I'm hearing? I'll have you know, my uncle taught me how to play. He's leagues better than you at video games in general." Ruby said with pride. Y/N laughed a bit, remembering how he beat the shit outta Qrow at his own game on Remnant.

"Alright, Alright. You coming or not?" Y/N asked with a smile.

"Mhm~!"

"Be right back. I need to tell the teacher something." Y/N said as he went to see the teacher. The same girls that were talking to Ruby on her first day, came over to her and talked to her more. They started to poke her and push her around a bit. Y/N could easily hear it happen. He sighed as he was done talking to the teacher. The girls saw that he was coming over and they stopped what they were doing before walking out of the classroom.

"You alright, Ruby?" He asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Why do you ask?" There was no sincerity to her voice. Her smile seemed fake as well. He just sighed once more.

"Yare Yare...(Good Grief)" Y/N said.

"What?"

"C'mon. Let's go to Spanish class already. We don't wanna be late to it." He said walking out the door. Ruby followed behind him. He didn't notice, but she hung her head down as she walked. They finally got to class and worked hard on classwork. Since exams were still around the corner, the teachers were piling on worksheet after worksheet of review. After class ended, they went off to their third period classes. During lunch, Ruby was picking at her food, not eating it whatsoever.

"H-Hey Ruby. You okay? You don't seem to be wanting to eat. You also seem very down about something." Ruby gave another fake smile.

"I'm fine! I'm just not hungry." She said.

"Ruby.... You have a problem." He had a serious tone.

"No. I told you I'm fine."

"Ruby.... You're being bullied."

"I'm Not!"

"I've seen you every day get messed with by those girls. Now, I don't know what they tell you, but I know for a fact that it isn't good." Ruby looked down.

"D-Don't worry about it. I don't want you to get involved." She said. Y/N laughed at her statement.

"I don't care. I know you don't want me to be involved. I also know you don't like being bullied. This is what's going to happen, I'm going to give them a piece of my mind."

"Y/N.. Please don't. It's more than just those girls... There's a guy..."

"A guy? What do you mean?"

"The girls said that there is a guy that likes me, and he'll beat me if I don't become his girlfriend. The other girls are his other girlfriends..... I'm scared... I don't know what to do... I've never had a boyfriend before...." Ruby started tearing up as she plants her head on the table. She sobbed quietly. Y/N put his hand on her head and ruffled her hair.

"I'll just do what I do best... Help out a friend when I need to." Y/N smiled. She lifted her head, showing her tear-soaked cheeks. Y/N took the liberty of wiping her tears away with a napkin.

"B-But.."

"Shhh. I'll take care of it. Try to lay low for the rest of the day till this afternoon. I'll see you in the car line." Y/N said, standing up and walking away from the table. The day went on as normal as any day could, until after school. Most of the students were already gone and no sign of Ruby. Y/N looked around the school, calling her name loudly until he heard a scream. He ran to the source to find the girls from first period, surrounding a guy who was forcing Ruby against the brick wall.

"OI!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?" Y/N ran over and pushed the guy off of her. Ruby had her jacket off and her shorts were part way down her legs. Her panties were slightly showing. She then quickly fixed her clothes and took a step back, crying heavily.

"I was taking something that's mine, till some pipsqueak asshole showed up to ruin it." The older student said in an aggressive tone.

"Yeah well.... You're not wrong.... Shit I got nothin..." He tried to act cool, but ultimately failed. How unfortunate. The brute of a kid laughed.

"You wanna go, kid? That bitch over there is mine for the taking and you're getting in my way."

"First off, she isn't a bitch. She's my best friend, Ruby Rose. Second, She and I are supposed to be going to my house to work on homework and play video games. You have no part in that future, mate." Y/N said to him. That seemed to have struck a nerve within the student. He ran at Y/N and connected a large fist to his face, sending the younger student flying back a bit. He landed on his back. Y/N stood up and spat the blood out of his mouth. Y/N then ran at the guy and tried punching him, only to be kneed in the gut, and thrown away again. The wind was knocked from his system. He coughed on his knees as he tried to regain his breath. Blood was coming out of his nose and his face and body were bruised up.

"Y/N... Just run.... I'll be okay..... Just leave me be... " Something inside of Y/N's soul ignited.

"You should listen to what she's saying, kid. It'll keep you alive." He laughed. The other girls laughed along. Y/N slowly stood up and his eyes locked on to the older student's eyes.

"W-What's with your eyes?" He looked at Y/N's eyes and noticed that they turned pink. Y/N didn't say anything.

"Y/N?" Ruby tried to get his attention, but to no avail. Y/n then reached down and grabbed a rock.

"What... You're gonna throw a pebble at me, you pussy?" The guy crossed his arms. Y/N then threw the rock as hard as he could at the student. He got hit, but it wasn't by a rock. It was by a fist connecting to his face. The guy stumbled back a bit, seeing where Y/N originally was. All that was there, was a single blue afterimage.

"H-How??" Is the next thing he said. Y/N walked forward. The guy threw a punch, only for Y/N to lean his head to the left, dodging the fist, Goku style.

"How is he doing this?" Ruby asked herself. She was so confused.

"Look.. You're going to lose this match. I'd run now before this becomes worse." Y/N said in a calm tone. The guy got seriously angry and pulled out a knife. He ran at Y/N and tried to cut him, only for him to dodge every attack he attempted. He then kicked the knife out of his hands, grabbing it on the way down. He then kicked the back of the guy's leg, causing him to fall backwards. On the way down, Y/N dislocated the student's right shoulder, then he put the knife against the person's neck.

"ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!! I'LL STOP!" He yelled, pleading for his life. Y/N's eyes went back to its original color as he stepped off of the bully. He turned to face Ruby and walked towards her. He threw the knife behind him, landing right near the bully's head.

"You okay Ruby? Did he do anything to you?" As Y/N took a closer look at her, she had a couple bruises on her face and arms. She was still in shock after what happened. Y/N sighed.

"Alright. Let's head to my place to get you and myself cleaned up, okay." Y/N held his hand out for Ruby to take, which she did. They both walked off of the school campus, and too the house.

"H-....How did you do that?" Ruby asked.

"Do what?" Y/N asked back.

"You threw a rock and instantly went in front of the bully within the blink of an eye."

"I don't know... Honestly. It just happened."

"Now... What you just observed... Is me helping you out of your bully problem, by getting into a classic high school fight." Y/N added on. They got into the house and cleaned themselves off. They went to Y/N's room to finish the homework they had to do together. They then started playing MW like a couple of 12 year old kids having a blast. They were having so much fun that they completely forgot about what happened earlier. Then the doorbell rang, signaling Yang's arrival to pick up Ruby. Y/N walked down with Ruby to see Yang.

"See you tomorrow, Ruby!" Y/N smiled.

"Mhm!" She smiled back, waving to him. Y/N closed the door and went upstairs. A couple hours later, a text came to his phone. He looked at it, seeing it was an unknown number.

'Hey, Ruby gave me your number. This is Yang by the way. Her older sister.' She texted him. He smiled, realizing who it was.

'Sup Yang?' Y/N replied. He then proceeded to add her to his contacts.

'Ruby told me what happened earlier today and... I want to say thank you.'

'What?'

'Ruby told me about her getting bullied and you helped her out. You even got into a fight for her. I respect that. So.. I have a question for you.'

'Oh.... of course. If any of my friends are in trouble, I'll be there to help.'

'Do you like Ruby?' It took a while for Y/N to think. He didn't know what to do.

"... Do I like her? I... I don't know... I... I cant help but think about my dream Ruby... But... Isn't this just the same?? Without the monster killing?" He talked to himself, before picking his phone back up.

'.... Yes..... I do...' He replied.

'Awwwww. I think she likes you too. She just doesn't know how to express her feelings yet. You see, she's never had a boyfriend, or romantic interest before.'

'I wouldn't know why. She is such a nice and sweet girl.'

'True that. I gotta go. I'll talk to you later.' Yang tried to end the conversation.

'Wait.'

'Yes?'

'For her birthday... What should I wear?'

'Everyone is wearing fancy clothing, so. I'd suggest getting yourself a suit and tie. It's also a masquerade. You should get a mask as well.'

'Thanks, Yang. See ya.'

'Toodles.' Yang ended the conversation. Y/N put his phone beside him and looked at the ceiling, putting his hand in front of his face. He observed it.

"How in the hell did I warp like in my dream? I have no idea. Maybe I just... Didn't.. Hmm I'll have to look into it later. For now, I need to think of a gift for Ruby's party." Y/N said turning over. He soon fell asleep. The weekend came fast and Y/N had to go out and buy a gift, a mask, and some sharp looking clothing for the party.

"What would Ruby want? I can't buy weapons... Don't wanna buy something I'd regret too... hmm...What to get..." He was in the car with his mom, thinking about what to do about Ruby's party. After a while, Y/n got some nice suit and a red tie. He still has yet to find a gift for her. Then, a light bulb went up in his head.

"Mom. Take me to Walmart, then Lowes.... We got some spending to do."

"You're going to help pay with whatever wild idea you have in your head."

"Don't worry. I got the greatest idea. All it will take is Dad's old tools, a blow torch, and time."

"I have no clue what you're thinking about doing, but don't hurt yourself." She said as she started to go to Walmart. After what seemed like a long ass time, they bought a shit ton of stuff.

"Thank god, we have a van." Y/N laughed.

"What are you going to even do with all of this junk?"

"Build something."

"Life isn't Minecraft, Y/N."

"I know that."

"I really hope you do." They both went on home and Y/N spent the rest of the day in the garage, working on Ruby's gift. His mother occasionally walked in the garage and gave him snacks and water. After a long time in the garage, he finally finished it late that afternoon. He let it sit there overnight to let the coating dry. The next day, he messed with it to see if it still was in working order. It was perfect. The spring load system was top notch. He then collapsed the gift and put it into a box. His mother helped gift wrap it. He could already tell that his gift was probably going to be the biggest one at the party.

A couple days later, it was finally Halloween, Ruby's birthday. The party was being held next to a local church at a large ass tent. On the outside, it was white cloth. on the inside, it was dark blue cloth. White and yellow lights were strewn about to make it like night time, even though it was already night time. The dance floor was right in front of the opening hole of the tent, and to the right were the tables and food. The cake looked really pretty (its the picture of the chapter). Y/N walked in and saw a lot of familiar faces from his dream. The entirety of team RWBY and JNPR were there. They were wearing the same fancy clothing they had at the dance. They all wore masks of a different kind. Taiyang and Qrow were also there. Normal pop music was playing quietly in the background for the time being. Y/N's mask, he made himself. It resembled a White Fang mask.

"Hey!!! You made it!" Yang said, walking up to Y/N with a smile.

"Dang, Yang. You lookin cool tonight."

"Thanks, Y/N. You look dapper yourself."

"Oh please, kind Madam." They both laughed.

"So where should I put this?" Y/N asked, looking at his gift to Ruby.

"Jeez! What is that thing?" Yang asked, surprised by the size of the box.

"It's Ruby's gift. I built it, so it might be a bit big." Y/N said.

"Ah. I'm sure she'll love it. It came from the heart."

"Where is she by the way? I didn't see her on the way in."

"She's getting changed and ready in the church. She'll be out in a sec."

"Really? She doesn't seem like the kind of girl to where a dress and high heels."

"She knows it too, but she wants to be able to wear one at least for her birthday."

"Yeah.. I'm going to put my present down. It's kinda hard to keep holding on to."

"Alri----" Suddenly, Qrow leaned on Yang's shoulder with his elbow.

"So is this the kid she's been talking about? Qrow Branwen. I'm Ruby's uncle." He laughed, holding his hand out. Y/N shook his hand respectfully and fully. He was already drunk... Typical Qrow. Y/N walked over to the present table and set down the present next to it, since it was pretty big. He looked around and saw Blake in the corner reading a book, surprisingly, she had those cat-ear headphones on. Y'know, the ones that lit up cool colors. Weiss was praising Pyrrha for being the top student in her class of the year, while also ignoring Jaune as he was asking her to dance with him. Nora was eating food with Ren right next to her.

"Heh... It's.. like nothing's changed... It's really weird, but... It has.. hasn't it." Y/n smiled, then frowned, until someone touched his left shoulder. Y/N turned around to see a cute Ruby Rose with little vampire fangs and a red masquerade mask.

"BOO!" She yelled. Y/N actually jumped back a bit. Ruby laughed really hard.

"Jeez, you got me!" He said, catching his breath.

"I can't believe I got you!" She said, still laughing.

"You look... Really nice, Ruby." Y/N said with a smile. Ruby's face turned red as she looked down with embarrassment.

"T-Thanks... Y-You look nice too." She stuttered a bit. She fiddled with her hands a bit. Suddenly, she grabbed his hand.

"I have to introduce you to my friends!" She practically dragged him along to introduce him to Weiss. She tapped on her shoulder.

"What do you want, you dolt?" She asked, turning around towards the two.

"Hey Weiss! This is my best friend, Y/N! Y/N, this is my bestie, Weiss."

"She is not, my bestie. It's nice to meet you." Weiss said, looking the other way while crossing her arms.

"Wanna see something cool?" Y/N asked.

"Sure."

"The girl in the corner's name is Blake." Y/N pointed at her. Ruby gasped.

"HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT!?" She was surprised.

"A magician never reveals his secret." He gave a smirk to her.

"Alright, can you guess the names of my other friends?"

"Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren." Y/N said, pointing to each person respectively.

"That's amazing!" Ruby smiled and giggled happily. Taiyang turned the music down to a halt.

"Alright! Is everyone here?" He asked. Everyone cheered.

"Good. Let's get this party underway shall we?" He said with a cheery voice.

"Boooooooo" Yang yelled loudly. Everyone laughed and followed along.

"Look, we're gonna have the dance floor open for a bit, after about 30 minutes or so, we will do presents, then cake, then more dancing. We will do pictures at the end. Let's rock!" Taiyang kicked the speaker system and it started playing rock music. The kids just talked and had a good time, occasionally eating finger snacks. Soon, a slow song started to play. Yang elbowed Y/N closer to Ruby. Y/N went up to Ruby.

"So, birthday girl... Care to dance?" He asked, holding his hand out.

"I-I don't know how...."

"It's okay... I'll show you. C'mon." Y/N smiled. Ruby returned the smile with a flushed face and took Y/N's hand.

"Why is your hand so rough?" She asked as they started to walk to the dance floor until he felt Ruby's grip tighten. He turned around as she started to stumble and fall under her heels. He quickly grabbed her.

"Whoa! You alright there?" He asked.

"Thanks, Y/N... I freaking hate these heels. They hurt my feet and I can't even walk well in them." She pouted.

"Then take them off."

"But..."

"It's your party. Make it your party. Don't let a couple of overpriced lady stilts ruin it." Y/N gave her a grin. She then took her heels off and chucked them out of the tent.

"S-So what do we do?" She asked. Y/N put Ruby's hands on his shoulders and he put his hands on her waist. This was beginning to feel like déjà vu to Y/N, but he didn't care. They swung side to side to the song "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. They looked into each others' eyes. Ruby had the red face. Y/N smiled and looked at Yang. She held a thumbs up. Qrow was right next to her doing the same thing. Taiyang had an angry look on his face. Blake continued to read her book. Nora and Ren were dancing as well as Jaune and Pyrrha. After the dance ended, everyone clapped for the slow dancers. They all took a seat.

"Everyone, you may take off your masks." Taiyang said. Everyone took off their masks.

"Jeez. You make it sound like we're in a cult or something."

"Ready for presents, kiddo?" Qrow asked his niece.

"Mhm!!" She nodded as she sat in her own special seat. in the middle of all of the tables. Y/N sat the farthest table from Ruby. She started to open presents. She got clothes, games, gift cards, shit like that. She was so happy to receive these gifts. She thanked all of her friends. She then turned to the largest gift of the pile.

"I'm going to move this thing to the dance floor." She got up and carried it to the dance floor and sat in front of it. Everyone got up and walked over to see her open it. Y/N just sat at the table near the dance floor with the most smug of faces.

"Who is it from?" Blake asked.

"It... Doesn't say.. Hmm Maybe it's from a relative?" Ruby asked. Yang looked at Y/N and winked. He winked back as Ruby ripped and tore open the box. There inside the box, sat a red and black metallic device. Ruby was confused. She took the device out of the box.

"What is it?" Weiss asked, questioning what the weird object was. Ruby stood up.

"I don't... know, but there's a button on the side." She said before pressing the button. The object then expanded into a large scythe in front of everyone's eyes. Ruby's eyes turned into hearts.

"I-IS THAT A SCYTHE!?" Jaune asked, scared of what just happened.

"NO FREAKING WAY!!!! IT'S A SCYTHE!!" Ruby hugged it dearly. Y/N stood up and slowly walked over.

"It's also a high impact, highly customizable sniper rifle, with Nerf dart bullets. The scope has a 4x and a 12x sight. It is also collapsible and expandable. It's lightweight and durable, as well as reinforced to keep it from being flimsy." Y/N said.

"Th-This was yours?" Ruby looked up at Y/N, who was showing her his hands. They were full of calluses, scrapes, and cuts.

"You... Built this by yourself?" She asked.

"Well, you told me you liked weapons back when we were playing Modern Warfare at my place, so I though, why not build you a custom one? Go on. One's already in the chamber. Give it a go." Y/N shrugged. Ruby set the scythe on the ground and looked down the scope and pulled the trigger. A large red Nerf dart went flying out of the tent and into the street about 150 feet away. Everyone cheered loudly.

"You gotta let me have a go at that, kiddo. That seems fun to shoot people with." Qrow said while laughing a little bit. Ruby pressed the button again, collapsing the scythe, turning it into a sniper rifle. She pressed it again and it turned into its original compact shape.

"THANKS SO MUCH, Y/N!!" She yelled with the happiest look on her face.

"No problem, Ruby." He had a look of satisfaction on his face.

"Alright everyone. Cake time!" Taiyang said as he brought the cake over to Ruby. Everyone sang along to happy birthday. Ruby then made a wish and blew out the candles. Everyone clapped for her turning 16 years old. Cake was handed out to everyone and the chatted and ate and had a good time. ]

"Psst, Y/N!" Yang whisper yelled to Y/N and he came right over.

"Yeah? What's up?" He asked her quietly. She then whispered something in his ear.

"That sounds like the greatest idea." Y/N had an evil grin on his face. He walked right over to Ruby, holding his piece of cake. He then took a bit of icing on his finger and did what nobody expected. He put it on her all on her cheek. She quickly turned to her right to see Y/N holding a piece of cake.

"Did you just??"

"Mhm..." Y/N smiled plainly.

"With the cake icing?"

"What are you going to do about it?" Y/N asked her. She put on an evil face.

"Big mistake, Y/N." She said grabbing a large chunk of cake icing.

"Whoa whoa I only put a little bit on you, Ruby. No need to go overboard." She got up from her chair and got closer to him. He walked backwards slowly.

"Heheheheh. hehehehe." She laughed evilly. She started running at him as he ran out of the tent. She did as well. He ran all the way to the parking lot of the church where Ruby stopped at the little stone path. She couldn't get in the parking lot without her shoes. It'd hurt her feet.

"Ha! Can't get me here!!" Y/N said happily.

"Get over here!!" Ruby giggled.

"How about you!" After what seemed like minutes, he gave in and slowly walked towards her. When he got to her, she took the cake in her hand and smothered his entire face in it. Then, she pulled him into a hug. He was shocked by this, but hugged back.

"Th-Thank you... F-For everything you've done. It means a lot to me. You helped me get around school, you became my friend, you saved me from that bully, and you even took the time to create such a nice gift for me with your bare hands... Thanks.. for being such a good friend."

"Of course, Ruby. I'll always be here for you."

"W-Wanna know what my wish was when I blew out my candles?"

"What?"

"I... Wished for a way to express my feelings... But it's really hard.." She buried her head in his chest. He gulped.

"W-well allow me to express mine.." Y/N pulled her chin up, seeing the moon shine in her eyes. He then leaned down and kissed Ruby on the lips softly. Her eyes widened. The kiss lasted several seconds. After he broke apart. Her face was flushed.

"Y-You..."

"Yeah... I like you, Ruby." Y/N smiled.

"I've never had a boyfriend before, but... I'd be willing to give being your g-girlfriend a try.. You're so kind and helpful. You're always there for me and I enjoy spending time with you. My heart feels weird when I'm around you and I don't understand why. I think I.. I like you too." She said, looking down, heavily embarrassed by what she was saying.

"Looks like your wish came true then." Y/N smirked.

"What?"

"You just expressed how you felt about me, silly." Y/N and Ruby giggled.

"Yeah.... I did."

"So how about it?"

"How about what?"

"Are we going to be a couple?" Y/N asked. Ruby thought about it and smiled. She nodded.

"Mhm! I'll do my best!" She said happily.

"Let's head back in and get cleaned up, shall we?" Y/N laughed. They both walked in and got each other cleaned up of cake. The night went on and soon, the party ended. Y/N went home with his mother.

"How was the party, Y/N?" his mother asked.

".... It... " "It was a night to remember for the rest of my life...." When they got home, Y/N got a shower and went to bed happily.

(Hey everyone. Sorry that this chapter was a bit emotional heavy and long as fuck. I literally cried twice making this chapter, deadass. See, the whole, birthday party part of the chapter with the whole, cake and the kiss thing, actually happened with me and a girl I liked at the time. She ended up actually becoming my girlfriend. It was 3 years ago. It was also a masquerade next to a church. Idk why i wanted to include it. Maybe to just put in some lost emotion i had when we broke up.
