KATE'S P.O.V

I was fumbling with my seat belt. Part of me was trying to be angry at Lucas while the other part of me quivered in fear. His hands reached out and buckled the belt for me.

" thanks" i mummbled. He didn't reply. His eyes were stuck to the review mirror. I didn't know where we were going and i was afraid of asking any more questions. Some time passed as we sat in silence. In the darkness i feit his hands land on mine. I squeezed it to let him know I was worried. His frown softened.

" i'll explain everything soon." He whispered.

" i hope so." The darkness outside grew reminding me that it was late. i leaned my head back and slowly drifted to sleep.

LUCAS'S P.O.V

She finally fell asleep. I sighed in relief. I had a pretty long way to drive to get to our destination. I just hope she'll be safe there.

KATE'S P.O.V

It was pretty early in the morning when i woke up. A blanket covered me. Lucas was still behind the wheel. Something tells me that we haven't stopped driving. I yawnned. Lucas looked over at me.

"morning" he said sofyly. I turned to him.

" morning. So where are we heading?" I asked.

"well we're just driving somewhere."

"where exactly?"

"to my parents house."

"why?"

"i'll explain there okay? You hungry?" He questioned me.

"yeah"

"Help yourself." He threw me a bag of chips and a can of grape soda. I opened the soda and took a long drink. I looked up at him again. I knew he knew i was staring at him. I leaned up and over and gently laid a kiss on his cheeks. His eyes automatically flashed to mines. He tilted his face and kissed my lips for a short while. He stopped and turned his face back to the road. I settled back into my seat, opened my bag of chips and pulled out my cellphone. I had 5 missed calls and 4 texts all from my friend Amber. One of the text read:
Where the hell are you a Kate?. I've been calling you forever and you haven't picked up your phone. Look call me when you get this text okay. Bye.
" Amber wants to know where i am what should i say?" I asked him.

" tell her you're out of town with me and you won't be back soon." He replied. I texted her his exact words. I put my phone away and looked out of the window. Houses littered the land outside. We drove into a driveway and he parked the car. He got out and came round the car to open my door. A huge mansion sat out in front of me.

" welcome to my parents house." he stated. He walked towards ths front door, i followed. He knocked and we waited. The door opened and a lady dressed in black and white dress greeted us. She smiled at him. She didn't even look at me. I tilted myself behind him a little.

" Maria" he said to the lady. She nodded

" Welcome Lucas," she beamed " come in". She stepped to the side and he enrered. I stood there. He turned to me and extended his hand. I took it. We walked into the hall.

" where are my parents?"

" in the garden sir" Maria replied.

Lucas walked swiftly, but me on the other hand gazed at everything. Sculptures lined the walls, paintings hung on walls everything looked ancient and valuable. He waited patiently for me.

" We need to hurry Kate"

I took his hand again.
