A young boy stood in the middle of a forest, his fangs visible. His chest heaved up and down with anger as he stared at the man in front of him.

"Kook, don't do this," the man's voice trembled though he kept his usual face.

Jungkook chuckled sadly as he took a shaky step forward, "How could you do this to me?" he said, his fists clutching tight enough that his nails cut his palm, the blood dripping down his fingers.

"I trusted you... you were all I had and you..." his breath hitched, breaking the sentence, "You lied to me... all this time."

The man stood silent. He had nothing to say about this because he, too, knew that this was the truth.

"Say something!" Jungkook screamed, and his scream echoed in the whole forest. Soft sobs left his mouth, the tears spilling down his cheeks. He hated the fact that he was crying, hated that even after everything, he still wanted to hear some explanation.

"How could you do this?" Jungkook's voice came as a whisper, his hands trembling, "After all I have done for you... How could you betray me like this?"

The man finally looked up to meet Jungkook's eyes, and for the first time, he felt scared by Jungkook, "Kook, I didn't want it to end like this, but sometimes the people whom we love the most are the ones to hurt us."

The man took a step forward to place his hand on Jungkook's shoulder but Jungkook jerked his hand away. He shook his head, his eyes blurred with tears.

"You were the first person to whom I opened up about everything and yet you did this?" Jungkook said, his voice breaking in sobs, "Hyung... I could've done anything for you... even if it meant killing others or killing myself."

The man looked down, "I know Kook, and I'm sorry for that," he said, not looking into Jungkook's eyes, which broke Jungkook's heart even more.

Jungkook felt something snap inside him. He clutched his fists tightly, "Sorry isn't enough," Jungkook said as he took steps towards the man, "You took everything from me."

He slowly stepped near the man. The man didn't resist when Jungkook sunk his fangs deep in his throat. Instead, he gently held him by his shoulders.

Jungkook's sobs muffled against his skin, his tears dripping down his cheeks. Jungkook slowly stepped backwards, blood dripping down his chin, his breath uneven.

"You shouldn't have trusted me," the man said, his voice barely above a whisper. He felt his knees weakening, "I knew I'd hurt you from the beginning."

"Kook..., can you... call me Hyung for the last time?" the man said as he fell to his knees. His eyes slowly closing.

Jungkook looked into his eyes, and that was when it hit him- the finality of what he had done. His Hyung's face was pale, his life slowly draining from him as he collapsed on the ground.

Jungkook slowly went near and sat beside him. He gently shook his body- but it was too late, "H-Hyung," Jungkook called out, his voice trembling.

Jungkook fell to his knees, his body trembling in fear. He slowly reached out to grab his arm, desperate to hold him, "Don't leave me alone," he slowly whispered.

"You said we will protect each other," Jungkook said, his hands clutching his arm, "Don't break your promise."

Jungkook's cries echoed in the forest. He held his Hyung's lifeless body close. He felt as if his heart was shattered into pieces. The blood on his hands mixed with his tears.

He lost the person whom he trusted and now he was all alone. He felt like he lost everything.

And now, he was all alone, left with the blood on his hands and the guilt he had to live with.

Jungkook jolted up from his sleep, gasping for air. His heart was pounding so fast. Sweat dripping down his face.

"Hyung...," he whispered, looking around the room, his breathing uneven.

He threw the covers off in frustration. His legs wobbled as he got off of the bed. He walked near the window and pushed it open with his shaky hands.

The image of his Hyung's face replayed again and again in his mind. No matter the number of years that have passed, the memories of that day were still the same.

"I trusted you..." Jungkook whispered, running a trembling hand through his hair.

The past memories still haunt him. He looked at his hands and he could still see the blood of his Hyung on his hands.

"You made me not want to trust anyone again," Jungkook said leaning against the side of the wall. His heart ached whenever his mind went back to the memories of his Hyung.

"I never wanted to be alone," Jungkook said, his voice breaking as he let the tears fall freely, he was tired of holding them back, "Maybe I also deserve some love... but you made me question this."

For a moment, the room was quiet except for the sound of his sobs. After some time, he went inside the room. The tears stopped but the pain was still the same.

The next day
With Taehyung

Taehyung woke up early in the morning. Unlike other days, he felt good this morning. He felt so happy for no reason. A smile came on his face as he stretched his arms lazily.

He got off the bed and got dressed quickly and left his room. The palace was quiet in the early morning with just some servants doing their work. The halls were quiet with only soft echoes of his footsteps.

He walked with his hands behind his back, occasionally stopping to look at the painting that hung in the hallways.

As he walked in the hallways, someone caught his eye. At the end of the hallways stood a boy, maybe around his age. Taehyung, feeling curious, walked towards him.

"Who are you?" Taehyung said, stopping a few steps away from him.

Before the boy could answer, a deep voice interrupted them, "Your Highness," said the Lord Hwang.

"Lord Hwang," Taehyung said in surprise, "When did you came back?"

Lord Hwang bowed before answering, "Last night, your Highness," he said politely, "and this is my son Hyunwoo."

Taehyung's curiosity grew, "Your son," he repeated, looking at Hyunwoo.

Lord Hwang nodded, "Yes, Your Highness. He used to live in the palace when he was younger but was later sent to live with the family,"

Taehyung nodded while looking at Hyunwoo. Lord Hwang bowed down and left from there.

"You have changed a lot," Hyunwoo said with a soft smile.

Taehyung narrowed his eyes, "Have we met before?" he asked, curiously.

"Yes, we used to play together when we were kids. I'm not surprised you don't remember; it's been so long," he said.

"We used to play together?" Taehyung said, frowning.

Hyunwoo chuckled, "Yes when I used to live in this palace. I still remember the day when we got in trouble for sneaking in the horse stables."

Taehyung laughed, "That sounds like something I'd do but I don't remember."

"You haven't changed much, though; I bet you're still a troublemaker," Hyunwoo teased Taehyung.

Taehyung shook his head, laughing, "Maybe a little bit."

Hyunwoo chuckled, "Then you must get away with things just because you are a prince."

Taehyung laughed nervously, "You know me a bit too much," he said laughing.

There was a pause for a minute before Taehyung spoke, "What brings you here?"

"I will stay here this time," Hyunwoo replied, "Father wants me to take care of his work as he will now be staying with mother and little sister."

"Oh," Taehyung replied, "I'm glad now I'll have your company in this palace. Otherwise, it's too boring here, and also, I got someone whom I can annoy as much as I want," he laughed.

"Is that an order, Your Highness?" Hyunwoo said bowing dramatically, making Taehyung laugh loudly.

As the conversation continued, Taehyung felt more at ease. It was nice to talk with someone who didn't treat him with the usual formality.

Lord Hwang, who was gone for some work came back and saw them still talking in the hallway, "Your Highness, if you'll excuse then can I take Hyunwoo to tell him about the work?"

Taehyung nodded his head, "Yes, I'm sure we will see each other around," Taehyung said, looking at Hyunwoo.

"Definitely," Hyunwoo said with a smile and left with Lord Hwang.

Taehyung smiled looking at them, even though he didn't remember much about Hyunwoo but this little talk made him feel good and a sense of joy from his childhood.
