The last kiss

Last chapter! It's been fun writing this, so on a happy and sad note, enjoy!💕

"Bhavesh...." Avneet spun round the doorway of his room to find the room empty.

I followed her as she ran in every open room and popped her head around, trying to see if Bhavesh was anywhere.

"Oh - oh my goodness. He might have left." Avneet stopped and put a hand over her mouth as tears cascaded down her face.

She ran as fast as the speed of light to the hall and entrance passage, banging the door open to reveal the wet, raining courtyard in which a taxi was waiting outside the gate.

A small figure was carrying his suitcase across, and Avneet gasped for breath.

"BHAVESH!" She screamed, making the people on the street look at her in surprise and a huge gathering formed beside me as I stopped in the doorway to watch the scene.

"What's going on?" Sidd, Jannat, Faisal, Roshni, Vishal and me all watched intently.

Bhavesh turned round unsurely and Avneet smiled through tears of desperation. She ran down the few steps and cuddled into his arms tightly, closing her eyes and panting for breath.

Bhavesh looked down at her head settled on his chest and his arms still dangled beside his sides, wondering what had come over her.

To our immense satisfaction he picked his hands up and placed them on her arms.

He smiled and cringed with an emotional face; his glasses going foggy with the joyous tears.

Everyone smiled and laughed politely at the couple who were getting drenched in the rain, but were enjoying the coolness of life around them.

We joined them quietly, creeping up behind them.

"Ahem ahem..." I coughed.

They quickly let go of each other and Avneet blushed, tucking a loose strand behind her ear.

Bhavesh just looked at us confusingly and wiped his glasses with his shirt.

"I knew it." He shrugged and Sidd thumped him on his back.

"Well done mate, you got ya girl." Vishal winked and hugged him.

"Congrats dude!" Faisal sang happily.

We all laughed.

"Well, this really does deserve a selfie doesn't it?" Sidd got out his phone.

"Oh, of course! Today's our last day of this wedding holiday. Tomorrow we all split ways again, back to our daily lives. It's been an amazing break." I sighed and felt sad.

After a few rounds we all laughed at the weird poses that were given and even in our verrrry last selfie, Roshni was worried about how her eyelashes looked 1 millimeter shorter.

"You look beautiful baby!" Faisal went over to her and stroked her hair.

"What's gotten into you today? I've rarely heard that?"

"Oh God this girl." Faisal raised his hand in the surrendering position.

"Group hug everyone!" We all got into a huddle and chuckled together.

"This marks a lovely end to our holiday." We all chilled out on the balcony, watching the beautiful evening sunset.

"So, back to Oxford tomorrow?" We heard Bhavesh whisper to Avneet.

"Unfortunately yes..." she lowered her gaze and laughed quietly, shuffling her feet.

"Well that's life for you..." Bhavesh clicked his tongue.

"So are you off to your dancing then tomorrow?" Tunisha nudged Sumedh.

"Yep, me and Faisal are doing a new collab for our YouTube channel. If you could dance then maybe I could've featured you..." Sumedh teased her.

Tunisha's mouth fell and she picked up a newspaper.

"Ahhh not that! Not that!"

We all laughed as Sumedh ran twice as fast as her chasing him with it.

Amidst all this, Sidd in his white Kurta was leaning over the balcony, watching the cars with a faint smile.

I walked over to him, leaving the noisy group of friends.

"Hey." I said.

"Hi." He replied silently, his hair still fluttering in the evening wind.

"So... plans for tomorrow?"

"Not much."

"You're at home?"

"Yep, exams are over, dada's wedding's over - I want to spend some time with my family." He turned towards me and gave a warm smile.

I gazed deeply into his eyes which reflected the orange and crimson rays of the sun that were tickling the horizon.

"Your plans?" He asked.

"Not much." I replied, giving a slight smile, still deeply gazing into his eyes.

He blinked away.

"Beautiful sunset, isn't it?" I said, changing the topic.

"Very." This time, he turned towards me and was mesmerized by my glowing face. It didn't take me long to realize that he was describing me.

I blushed a light pink and he giggled in his cheeks, showing off his cute dimple.

We looked down at the floor in awkwardness, still laughing until we finally stopped.

My hand slid off the balcony rail and my smile disappeared slowly as I felt him moving towards me.

This was the first time that I realized how tall he was.

He came up slowly and cupped his hands, placing them gently around my neck.

His fingers stroked my yearning skin and I closed my eyes as my veins flowed with satisfaction.

Soon enough, the touch of his chipped lips against mine created butterflies in my stomach and I quivered slightly. Our lips locked and the soft feel made it even more intense.

His chest was pressed against mine and at the touch of his smooth hand against my waist, I slipped into his arms, resting my head on his chest; realizing that there was no safer place than this, in the world.
